OOC The distant figures to Miss Victory are indeed dots, so probably half a mile away or more. 2 points from body makes Jumping 10 and that covers it...
Miss Victory willed the power within to switch and felt that strange sense of energy switch around her body. Her legs were energised and she took to the sky with a single bound!
The villains were blasting at a target on the ground - Fission no doubt - and when Miss Victory arrived a moment later to crash in amongst them and grab hold of the crackling energy guy!
OOC This might not be the best idea... crackling energy? A grab?
MISS VICTORY DEX 23 STR 11 BODY 10 JUMPING 10
Grapple attack AV23 + M Arts 2D (2D Acro as per standard) + Roll(4d12)+0: 9,2,10,6,+0 Total:19 (42) vs
OV26 (incl Fluid Form) + 4D Acro + Roll(6d12)+0: 10,10,2,12,5,3,+0 Total:20 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 6,12,+0 Total:38 (64) Attack Missed
With astonishing reflexes the crackling energy man dances aside from Miss Victorys' grab and shouts "there are others of them! I don't recognise this one but I'd remember her from now on! Very Pretty!"
"Very dead!" said another in orange prison clothes. Fission, all crackling energy albeit of a different colour from the villain Miss Victory had taken a swipe at, was lying in a crater and stunned. He looked up... "Miss... Miss V? G... get out of here! They are t... too powerful!" he spluttered, obviously in pain from the mental, mystical and physical onslaught!
OOC initiative...
With enhanced Dex Miss V easily acts first. BEWARE! Fission is not stunned this round but after being battered for two rounds by the massed villains is in poor shape (should be unconscious but he mysteriously acquired just enough HP to stay conscious and help Miss V out).Going for the high Dex/hard to hit bad guys might not be the best bet. What split of dice to attack/defend, any crit blow or multi attack etc...

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
Lionheart looked about, concentrating...
OOC An oversight, or just ran out of points but you can't add Power Reserve to Postcognition which would make it staggeringly more useful than it is. You can add that for just 25HP (5x cost to add to existing powers) and it might be an idea to add more abilities like Intelligence, Body, Mind, Spirit etc to the Power Reserve list as required. Adding Power Reserve to spirit, for example makes Lionheart much more durable against Magical Attacks so long as the power reserve points stay added to Spirit.
Postcognition 11 + Roll(2d12)+0: 6,10,+0 Total:16 (27) vs
Length of Time going back 1-2 hours 11 + Roll(2d12)+0: 1,4,+0 Total:5 (16)
+5 (to 16) vs RV11=5 RAPs. Not quite enough (needed 6 RAPs!) for a clearer image... instead...
Lionheart got faint, fuzzy images...
A sphere of energy near the space station... indistinct figures inside it... missiles launching from the station... spiralling away, dead, turned off... The defence satellites drifting out of control, inert and useless whilst a faint crackle of energy encompasses them... a hand reaching into the void and touching an airlock which responded and hissed open... another touch... the hand sank into the panel of a computer interface on the wall... all hell breaking out on the space station... gravity turning off... lights... life support... Automatic shutting of blast doors ... the images faded...
The intruders may well still be on the space station! He looked into the darkness. His danger sense could probably warn him of smashing into stuff - maybe. If there was a powerful threat he would get warned. Lesser threats, unlikely. If he ran into a wall at speed he'd punch clean through it, regardless of what it was made of. He winced at the thought of tearing the space station up even more than it was already suffering from a lack of power to vital systems. Whoever survived, trapped in the sealed areas, would perish too!

OOC: [i]Wow didn't know I could do that - well that is a definite must next time I get to upgrade, as that will make all my current figures and stats far more versatile certainly in a pinch anyway.
Lionheart couldn't rely on speed, but he still had flight and agility, he moved to allow his mind to be free of distraction so he could maintain the best chance of utilising his danger sense and his other heightened abilities to best register anything that would clue him in as he went. First stop was the control room, where he hoped would be either the most secure and or the attackers were holed up.
OOC: I am utilising all my senses as best I can including smell, to try and stay a step ahead. Floating at a speed that allows me to move quickly but mindful of traps and tricks and just hazards. I'll head first to the control room then possible following to engineering. I am not sure where else I could go after that...labs, armoury? Not sure of the layout from what we've seen in/out of character before.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
Despite the place being distinctly digital there were still stickered charts on the wall showing the basic layout of the station.
He needed to go up several floors and with the gravity out it was a simple matter to yank open the lift doors and fly up the lift shaft.
OOC Danger Sense...
Danger Sense 9 + Roll(2d12)+0: 1,1,+0 Total:2 BOOM. BURNOUT of the following powers and...
Analytical Smell, Danger Sense, Empathy, Mind Blast, Mind Probe and Postcognition are all burned out for one hour!
In addition...
Body 13 vs itself! + Roll(2d12)+0: 10,3,+0 Total:13 (26) vs
OV13 + Roll(2d12)+0: 6,9,+0 Total:15 (28) no damage
Mind 13 + Roll(2d12)+0: 11,8,+0 Total:19 (32) vs
OV13 + Roll(2d12)+0: 12,5,+0 Total:17 (30)
+2 (15) vs Rv13=2 RAPs mind damage. Lionheart is on Mind 11/13
Spirit 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 6,2,+0 Total:8 (18) vs
OV10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 8,3,+0 Total:11 (21) no damage
Lionheart winces as a staggering headache assaults him! He is floating in the lift shaft looking at the door which will open on the floor of the control room but feels... nothing. His super senses including his Danger Sense have failed him! A rare occurrence but a cost to pay for merging with Saladin and boosting his power levels beyond anything that his creators could have imagined when they cooked up his genetic code in a lab.
Without his Danger Sense he would be effectively 'blind' to surprising danger or attacks.
OOC Power reserve is very useful. Expensive, but it gives a pool of points you can add to any pre determined abilities (bought when the character is created or improved over time. I can't tell if the cost should be 10 x 5 points per ability as per buying a new power or 5 x as if buying a new advantage so I've gone for 5x.

OOC: O Oh
Lionheart moved forward, reliant on his non-heightened senses to take the best guess, but to a man like him this seemed as it would to someone suddenly relying on taste alone to sense the world about them. This was not going to be easy, now it was going to be harder still. He moved up and onwards arriving at the right floor and moving cautiously forwards, towards the door hand outstretched to feel for any tale-tale signs of danger, heat or any electrical vibrations before opening them up and moving forward.
OOC: This is going to be painfully slow, not at all what I wanted to hear with all that is going off on the ground below.

ooc: Darn it! Not a one of them decided to come down and fight. Her options are extremely limited here as I see it. 1. Keep jumping into the air and hope to hit or grab one of them. 2. Throw something at them and if it misses, hope it doesn't land on someone in the crowded city. 3. Run away and hide in the tunnel and hope that they don't just energy blast everyone in there. I don't see any other options here, other than 4. hold my action, dodge everything that they throw at me, hope not to get hit and then try attacking whoever comes down closer to blast her. 5. Grab Fission and flee the city.
So, I will go with 4, hold my actions until after they have attacked, hope I'm still up after that, and then attack whichever villain is closest to her. If that turns out that she doesn't need 2 points in jumping if they get closer, put it into St for 13 str.
Because I can't see running and hiding and leaving the President on his own against them. She wants to grapple one of them so she can then move her energy around to Strength and hopefully squeeze them unconscious. So Grappling Attack whichever villain is closest to her after they had all had a chance to go. Hmm, she has Martial Arts and won initiative so she should also be able to use the Laying Back Initiative combat maneuver with Grapple, yes?
Martial Arts for attack, Acrobatics for defense.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
Lionheart hovered in the lift shaft and pressed his ear against the lift door on the control level.
His superhearing still operated and wasn't any use in this situation but he DID hear something else.
"...We have nullified the systems of the space station and cut off all their communications and external defences. To get inside the secure sections will need... more time. They are essentially sealed in small craft isolated from the rest of the ship including the power supply required to generate a protective field that will need sufficient force to smash through that it will rip the space station apart."
There was a pause from the other end which Lionheart didn't hear the reply from but the voice continued "We wait them out. We have the means and the power to break through the fields protecting the key areas but if we want to keep this station in one piece we wait till the power runs out them simply... walk in. Duplex and a few other supers will offer some resistance but be swept aside. All the powers are off ship, deep space or the planet below. These? Chickenfeed. The non powers have been told to stand down or we will toss them out of the airlock. Some hardasses resisted, they were flushed. That brought the rest in line. They are held in the communal areas."
Another pause.
Another answer "Nice place. From here we can interface with every satellite orbiting the planet and using our specialists we can hack into every networked system on Earth. When this space station falls, Earth is in our grasp. Only one thing can stop us. We need Nexus to stop him."
They were clearly speaking about Silver Sentinel, the most powerful superhuman on Earth. Faster, stronger, more durable and powerful than any other superhero, he was the only one who - albeit with the help of the entirety of the Ultrahumans - managed to wrest the gauntlet from nexus and sever his connection to the infinite other Nexii throughout all of creation that combined into one omni being and was limited only by his human imagination with regards his capabilities.
If Nexus got that glove back... it was game over. Lionheart realised that this - all of this - the attack on the White House, dragging resources and heroes to its aid, the orange suited super criminals escaping and running amok across America, smashing through police and army lines, filling news channels with chaos and inspiring more chaos in their wake, the other super powers of the world watching eagerly to step into the power void left by a crippled United States of America unwitting that the criminals - and Advent - had planned to establish their own, new, world order in their image.
However, Advent did not realise the bedfellows it was climbing in with had their own agenda, and would not share power, nor come to an agreement or compromise. They would break the United States, smash the most numerous gathering of superhumans on the planet and leave no resistance to their power, even Advent, who would finally, fatefully, realise they were massively powerful with near infinite resources but that would pale in the face of the power Nexus wielded...

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
OOC Dave M I was going to resolve your action but it doesn't make a huge amount of sense tactically - you have initiative, so waiting until these five (who have the power to flatten and stun you into next week if you are on your own) pound on you, stun you and finish you off (without a chance to fight back this round or the next because you are stunned and picking your teeth up off the floor to fumble them back into the gaps) means you'll very likely miss out on the chance to retaliate.
You can stay the course, lay back, hope and pray for rolls to fall your way and not go the other but I would advise against it. Your other options - including running off with Fission - are better bets in my opinion.
My suggestions...
1) Pick the slowest targets, multi attack (bouncing about like crazy) and take two, maybe three of them out. The fastest/toughest of them will make this option a bust so picking targets - carefully - is the only way for this option to work.
2) This won't do much against these guys
3) Delaying the inevitable - you either get walloped here or down there BUT ... but... you buy a little more time and your buddy up in the Space Station could tip the odds IF Fission has enough time to recover
4) Eeeeew. This has only one outcome in my opinion. Miss V avoids a couple of attacks, gets smacked about by others, uses Hp to last ditch defence to stay conscious but is stunned, misses out on action this round and the next (because, stunned) and next round gets battered into the floor.
5) buys time for Fission to recover and get back on his feet. He didn't opt for option four but absolutely got the same outcome!
Your call... These guys are heading for the White House. 'Cowardly' heroes who run from battle aren't worth their time...

Lionheart was not one to run into a battle aimlessly, he had the advantage of surprise, but if he went to the others could he make it clear he was there? He wasn't sure he could. So what option did that leave? Regroup with Miss Victory - not without a ship to get them back here and not before they sorted out what was going on at the Whitehouse. No, it seemed best, though least desirable to attack now, whilst he could. He really didn't see much of an option if this base went down, then the satellites of the earth...it would cause untold chaos and set other things in motion far worse than the Whitehouse going down.
Taking hold of the doors, he used his massive strength and speed to rip them open, before flying headlong into those who were ahead.
OOC: OK in for all I'm worth...hoping my regen has kicked insufficient to mean I don't get myself booted out good and proper - Bold they road into the gates of hell...or just plain stupid. Going with speed and martial arts once the doors are off. Since my mental abilities are fritzed. 3/2 on dice and devastating attack against the one who seems to be most dangerous first.

Is Miss Victory like the only hero in our modern storylines that doesn't have Regeneration? Villains too?
Ok, the only option I can see after your suggestions is boost Running, grab Fission and run to the White House. Maybe with the other supers there trying to protect the President we can make a better stand. The way I see it there is not a single one of them that Miss Victory can defeat. She needs a high Dex to hit them, which means her Body and Str are in the low teens or lower. That means if she hits, she will do little if any damage to any of them. If she can grapple one, she can then switch to strength the next round and try squeezing them unconscious and that villain might provide some protection from the others while she does that. So she can only fight them one by one. Trying to multi-attack when you can do little or no damage just doesn't seem feasible to me.
But she is NOT going to leave the President!

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
Lionheart wrenched the doors to the lift open and sped in!
"What?" spluttered an orange suited woman who spun at the noise. There were four orange suited super criminals blasting. punching, pushing and otherwise pounding against what appeared to be a force field protecting the control room.
There were four of them...
1) A bright yellow skinned man with lizard eyes, scales and a tail jutting from his orange suit!
2) The woman who turned round who has an energy aura around her and was blasting at the force field
3) A hulking brute, eight feet tall, pretty much as wide with muscles like boulders! The floor has foot sized craters and dents and where he has been stood it is bowed in and chewed up! He is pounding against the field...
4) A man who is floating off the ground. He is calm and his eyes glow...
All four of them seem unaffected by the lack of oxygen or gravity.
OOC Lionheart wins initiative and gets a surprise attack on his target the first round. Any preference of target? You can even take a crack at all four if you like, but you would be fighting against the best defence and the best resistance which makes things very hard!

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
Miss Victory scooped up Fission and he deactivated his power so she wouldn't get burned!
Instantly she shifted her power and raced off in a blast of dust and a sonic boom in her wake!
In a heartbeat she was slowing to a halt and racing past the massed, outgunned and petrified national guard who still remained, rifles out and watching for enemies.
Their guns would do nothing against the power of the super villains that were attacking the White House... Miss Victory considered and figured that the weaker villains int he supermax prison would be pretty much bulletproof and able to break free of any conventional jail. The ones she now faced were from the lower levels, more powerful and each a challenge in their own right. Together? She couldn't take them on her own.
OOC With the right balance of Dex, a devastating attack, reasonable dice rolls and a boost to strength I reckon you can take two maybe three of the villains down on your own but would need to be lucky. One on one? I'd expect Miss V to be able to beat most if not all of them. On her own against the group? She might last a round. This is a case of picking your fights, your allies and when to leave, quick!
General Battle shouted "Let them through!" when the Super Agents tried to bar the way with aggressive shouts and posturing with powers poised. He strode forward to where Fission was sliding down the wall to sag in the corridor. "Too... power... ful... gasped the battered hero. I barely... survived... energy... I can ... deal with but... magic... mind... attacks too..." He looked up at Miss Victory "You saved my life!" he gasped, raising a wobbling hand to shake with Miss V.
The General's expression darkened. "This is it then. Our last stand." he said to Miss Victory. "We have gotten word. Groups of supers from New York and some solo types are on their way. Our people have requested everyone come but some of these guys are 'street level' so to speak and aren't going to be slaughtered. I have no choice but to send them into battle when they get here. We have to ... buy time... slow them down... protect the President for as long as we can even while we don't know if she's still alive or not in there! At any time they could break out, attack us from the rear even as we fight off these five from the other side. We're screwed."
He turns to Miss Victory "I need you here with me but... we need someone to survive, fight back. I can't order you... you aren't one of mine but... if it looks hopeless I request that you get out of here, form a resistance, gather others like you together and strike back. I've authorised a final act of defiance to be used if the President is revealed to have been killed. This place will be levelled but we'll take some of the b*stards with us..." he said, face grim.
OOC Regeneration would be a no brainer for Miss V. You'd be surprised how few bad guys have it. In fact I can only remember maybe a hand full since we've used the DC Heroes game. They get put down and stay down for the most part. For Miss V, 1 point in regen and 25HP into power reserve to add it to her list to boost it... easy peasy. Cheap, job done.
Any more preparations before the five get outside, mince the brave but doomed guards and start smashing through the Super Agents to get to the Presidents' bunker?

Lionheart immediately thought that the one guy he should be most aware of is the one guy who here floating about whilst everyone else ineffectively pounded the forcefield. It was easy to go for muscles or the girl, but the one who stood back, he hoped might be their leader and therefore possible most dangerous. He wasn't to know since he was effectively flying blind without his mental powers to the fore. And worst still time was very much against him.
OOC: OK so go for Mr Floaty, Martial arts, Dex and Speed to the fore, with 4/1 on the dice to try and take him out quick, with a devastating attack.

"Can you tell me which ones used magic and mental attacks, Fission? They may be the ones that I will have a chance to take down. That might give us a fighting chance," Miss Victory says grimly. "Give me their descriptions."

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
OOC Some delay while I statted up the bad guys... I used to churn hundreds of characters out in the day (1st edition) but I was using the game so much I never referred to the books or tables, they were all locked in my head. D&D was another game I 'locked in' back in the day but much easier and not point buy. These days there isn't enough space in my head for keeping every detail of a game in, plus my brain tends to leak a bit more than it used to! Anyway, it just means the process is slower. I've run out of characters I can use from the DC Universe as they are either 1e/too powerful or 2-3e too weak. Odd when saying that I can't use the most powerful Post Crisis characters but there it is!
LIONHEART sped towards the floating man who didn't get chance to react thanks to the pure speed of Lionheart!
OOC it is that speed which might tip the balance in this fight!
Dev Attack AV26 +4D M Arts (1D Acro) + Roll(6d12)+0: 12,10,2,8,6,8,+0 Total:16 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 4,11,+0 Total:31 (57) vs
OV6 - Surprise 4 + Dev Attack 8 + Acro 2D (m Arts 0 ) + Roll(4d12)+0: 4,10,9,4,+0 Total:8 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0:
9,7,+0 Total:24 (34)
+7 (to 21) vs RV19 - 12 Dev Att (RV7)=14 RAPs. Mindlord is DOWN and OUT! Well, that wasn't too tricky. So glad I spent so long statting him up and writing the background!!!
Lionheart sped up and delivered hundreds of super strong punches to his opponent, overwhelming the force field surrounding him and battering him into a bulkhead to slide down and tumble to the floor. The woman and brutish figure turn, snarling and narrowing eyes... The Yellow Lizard man points and laughs at the downed villain and snorts "Ha! That punk always shot his mouth off like he was some big shot, even in the prison!" he laughs in a rasping lizard lisping voice (OOC it takes far too long to ssssay alll that with a lissssp)
The two villains testing, probing, blasting and working on the door/force field turn their attention to Lionheart as does the yellow lizard guy! THREE on ONE!
OOC initiative... Pointless... Lionheart goes first. You face THREE opponents, no surprise attack this time and will need to think about defence as much as attack. Also your environment. This is a space station, tough in its own way but the forces the four of you bring to the table will cause a LOT of damage... just a heads up...
You have :
Energy Woman
Hulk Brute force guy
Tall yellow lizard fellow with claws and dripping (poison) fangs

OOC: Sorry about breaking your stuff, but I guess you can reskin him for someone else in the future?
Lionheart wasn't going to mess around with these guys, but the big ugly brute clearly had the greatest potential to do the most harm to the crippled station something that could further impede him and the survivors if he was to win. So it was him that he directed his attacks at looking for that weak spot at which he could hammer home.
OOC: 3/2 on the dice, martial arts devastating attack and trying to see if we can't best this brute before he or the others land a punch. Shame mind blast isn't available to me I bet these guys might go down with a good blow to their minds from mine. Oh Well.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
Miss Victory crouched next to Fission who had powered down slumped against a wall away from prying eyes as he peeled off his all concealing domino mask.
"Lady... uhhh... I gotta say, you saved my life back there. They were toying with me." he mumbles, wiping a smear of blood from his nose and mouth. "I'm fast in my energy form - they couldn't lay much of a hand and if they did? I could slip em but those two you describing... there's a guy with thinning blond hair, tall, 'bout 6'3 and got a gold tooth. I got a real close look at him when he zapped me with his magic blast. Felt like I was burning. All I could do to stay awake... when I was reeling, the other one, the Woman, she zapped me with her brain. After that? I was a punching bag for the others. The worst of them all though?"
He described '#5' who was a power leech. Someone who could drain superhuman energy from a target and apply it to themselves. Stealing the power from Fission and leaving him mostly defenceless whilst they toyed with him as a cat might do to a mouse.
"These Five man... they're a crew. They had so much time in between kicking me round... one of them started coming up with names. They call themselves FIST now. Fearsome International Super Terrorists. I would have laughed but I was too busy trying to crawl away and getting battered. My powers are still gone, won't be back for a while I guess. I've been drained like that before and it feels like they took a chunk away from you. I won't be much good in the coming fight, I gotta say."
Miss Victory had been on the end of some batterings herself but she had to admit Fission was a mess. Battered physically, mentally and mystically and with most of his powers drained, he was likely to be killed outright in the opening seconds of any engagement.
Footsteps crunching on the rubble gave pause to Fission who settled his mask back in place.
"You won't need that mask son, those bruises around your face make you unrecognisable. You sure you're up to this? I just got word that a group of teenage supers engaged these five bad guys and they are tearing it up outside. No word on which way it's going but the kids are putting up a good fight apparently." said General Battle. "Word is more supers are helping out as they get here."
He turned to Miss Victory. "Choice is yours Ma'Am. I can't leave the line. I draw it here and if they get here? Well, this is where I fall. You and your friend have done all you can up to now and I can't ask you to do any more." With a glance at the barely conscious Fission he gently pulled Miss Victory away by the arm and the aged super looked her in the eye. "This is a battle we can't win. The war goes on though. I have to be realistic. Maybe the President... the President might be already dead in there. We don't know. When those five get here my people will give their lives to stop them but if we fail, we'll need someone to carry on the fight. Think carefully. Fission can't fight any more. He's done in. I've seen people like that on the battlefield and they don't know when to stop. I'd say you have a choice."
"Get out there, help the kids, try to stop the five.... Or hold the line with us and slow them down as best we can... Or ... or go with Fission away from here, heal up, get help and come back and smash these ****** ******* into the floor when you can. Get the other Ultrahumans here... any other groups... But don't let this be the last battle. We are more than that. The President in there deserves more than that. I didn't vote for her but I'll be damned if she goes down on my watch without my giving it every scrap of fight that I can!"

"As long as there is a chance the President is still alive, I can't run," Miss Victory says simply to the general. "I have a chance, maybe, now that I know who I have to worry the most about. I'm going out to help those other heroes. You get Fission to a medic. Good luck and God Speed, General."
With that, Miss Victory leaves the tunnel and heads outside.
actions: move energy around to give her a 19 Dex, 17 Str and 10 Body. Her targets are the two Fission described. She puts everything she can skillwise into attack, anything left over goes to defense. Dev or Crit multi-attack those two, whichever gives me the best shot at hitting them. Then see what happens after that.

The brute rolled his neck, grinned and strode across to where Lionheart was. "C'mon runt, let's see what ya got!"
"BRUTE!" said the woman who was blasting at the force field. "Remember where you are! If you use your full power you will bring this whole space station crashing down round our ears!"
"Heh. I'll survive it Doll, I ain't worried." growled the giant.
The yellow lizardman gave what passed for a scowl. "We're trying to capture this place, not smash it up, idiot!"
"Watch yer mouth ya scrawny reptile or I'll stretch yer neck to teach ya some respect!" snarled the Brute...

Lionheart was in a pickle at no mistake. If he continued to incense the beast and it grew sufficient to destabilise the station that would be more trouble than even he could bank on. However, the thought that it would also hamper Nexus, was some compensation. But for now perhaps the best thing he could do was to get the beast off the station. Despite its bulk, he wondered if he could move it, let alone fly it out of the bulkhead and cause a massive decompression?
OOC: Can I do that, I just want to get an idea if I can before I go a waste time trying to do it. If not then yeah carry on as before with the same split 3/2 and devastating attack to try and catch this guy before he brings the whole place down around our ears.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
MISS VICTORY altered the internal energy within her body to boost her physical abilities to her requirements. Reflexes heightened and sharpened, Strength boosted, durability tweaked.
MISS VICTORY CURRENT STATS 19 Dex, 17 Str and 10 Body
She flexed her fist then looked up, took a deep breath.
Then Miss Victory raced outside at speed!
In the skies over Washington a battle raged. Colourfully clad men and women and more besides flew, jumped, teleported or ran at speed at each other! The group of five orange clad prisoners hovered in the sky and blasted on the targets below, seemingly gleeful as they smashed their way through the heroes as the arrived at the battle site.
In the shadow of the Washington Monument, which somehow still stood despite looking battered, the battle seemed to have halted the progress of the bad guys as powerful superhumans raced in to clash with each other!
OOC This has taken a while to put together. Loads of combatants, loads of rolls to resolve hence up to this point I have assumed that all combatants have used HP to stay on their feet damage free (absorbing damage with last ditch defence) otherwise it would take days, weeks to resolve! Some familiar names, we aren't crossing over universes, just assume that there is an equivalent Wonder Woman/Martian Manhunter/New Teen Titans etc in our universe... Plus I don't have to spend an age statting up an army of characters! In our universe the Justice League would be a powerful team, but nowhere near the Ultrahumans in terms of sheer power, not even close.
Wonder Woman flew up, shouting to her friend and sometime ally Power Girl "Pincer on the big guy! We can take him!" she roared. "If we can slow him down I'll bind him with my lasso!" Power Girl nodded and swooped about, coming at the powerful orange clad villain (#1) who was the fastest and most likely powerful of the villainous group threatening the White House!
OOC Using our house rules Wonder Woman is incredibly effective. Far more skilled at combat and dodging blows than someone like Superman I'd be willing to be money that using our rules she would give Superman a run for his money!

"You are fast, woman! Skilled... it will avail you NOTHING!" he shouted. "I am SUPREME!"
"Supreme THIS!" said Power Girl, swooping in from the other side! Wonder Woman rubbed her fist, scowling as she knew now that she faced an opponent far in excess of her abilities!

"Slow... slow and clumsy." said Supreme (Villain #1) as Power Girl raced by, a white and red blur!
Miss Victory grimaced. The heroes here were WAY out of their depth. in their own way, powerful, but the Supermax had held the worst of the worst and when they were released many of the villains were being unleashed on an unwitting superhuman population. Because the Ultrahumans had been the immovable line and always smashed major threats into the floor, with them scattered and unable to divert their biggest hitters to the White House there was suddenly a glaring void in the power required to stop the escaped Villains!
Her ability to jump would - just - get her to her targets in the air and allow her to bounce from one to the other thanks to reflexes and agility far beyond any Olympic Athletes ability to comprehend!

She pulls a face. Her blow was powerful and accurate but these foes were on a power level equal or greater than her own. Without Fission she would...
She glanced back at the ruins of the White House and saw a bright energy form take to the sky! Fission! The fool! He was in no shape to take on these monsters! And yet... maybe he could tip the balance in certain conflicts and smash through the force field more effectively than Miss Victory had done...

Fission flew up, noting Miss Victories targets and nodding to his comrade as he flew over her! He was taking a huge risk and he knew it! Still, he would not leave Miss Victory to battle on her own - despite the sheer number of supers on the scene Fission and Miss Victory stood head and shoulders above those fighting for the President. In fact as a measure they were at the tip of the mountain whilst Wonder Woman and Power Girl were halfway up and the others scattered along the slope and mostly collected at the bottom!

Blinding flashes fill the sky and at ground level, as, despite the force field Troia throws up around her team mates, the Teen Titans are SMASHED by a single villain with a lightning blast of nuclear level power!
They lie sprawled, smoking and barely alive in the singed blackened churned up mud of the park in front of the White House. Stunned onlookers watched through Binoculars or zoomed in TV cameras still bravely/foolishly watching on even as more National Guard and Army turned up.

Hero Points would have dragged it out but this was a straight up no hero points battle. Skills played a big part, especially for those without them and that is how it should be.
Wonder Woman looks about, at the battered heroes, the down allies, the devastation wrought on the White House. "Who's in charge here?" she calls out to Fission and Miss Victory. "Where are the Ultrahumans? Silver Sentinel, Thunder Woman? The others? The Justice League is on its way but..."

"Hopeless. Kill yourselves, save me the trouble!" laughed the power leeching villain!
OOC Phew! That took an age to sort out but shows the massive, huge, galaxy wide gulf in power between the bad guys and the new Teen Titans, some of which are powerful - IF they get a chance to act.
Fission snarls "Lady, we gotta keep fightin' buy time till help arrives! Pick a target and punch 'em!"
OOC Pick your target then I'll resolve round 2 of this Battle Royale.

"Fission! Double-team these two with me," Miss Victory yells out, pointing to Energy Leech and Density Man.
ooc: Drop 2 Points of Dex and put them into Str and do again what she did the first time but using team attack as well.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
Lionheart knew the bulky bad guy was a HUGE threat and could - quite easily - destroy this whole station and all on it, plus cause countless deaths if the massive space structure burned down to crash into a populated area.
OOC Ok, best bet is to grab brute and get him out of the station in the fastest was possible. You'd have to decide what that is but the absolute quickest way would be grab the big guy, fly up and smash through the bulkheads and toss the goon into space!
There is a problem with that approach. You will use your dice action to GRAB the bad guy, then a move action to a wall or airlock then need NEXT ROUND to use your DICE action to break through the bulkhead/airlock and MOVE action into space. The problem (and it's a big one) is that to move this guy you will need to pour energy into strength (rather than Superspeed) as he's stronger than you. When you grapple him he will use his strength against yours. Even at 29 Str, Lionheart is outmuscled by this guy at his heaviest/densest which is 28APs weight (which Lionheart can just about lift with his hands, no chance with telekinesis) and he will get a chance to wallop Lionheart.
Another approach you could take is to make a planned knockback attack where the 'damage' is the distance you knock the guy backwards (or up or wherever you aim) LESS their weight. See the problem? A super dense foe weighs A LOT! Might not be too effective.
You could just try to beat the guy into the floor and hope to land a really powerful blow, maybe juggle a few points to str instead of all to Superspeed, dev attack, high roll... who knows?
ANOTHER approach... Lionheart moves to an outer wall bulkhead at speed then WHACK a hole into the side and use his flight to counteract the sucking effect of explosive decompression in this area. See if the bad guys are ready for THAT!
Or you could hope to avoid the big guy, whittle down his buddies and then figure out what to do with Brute.
Tricky. You are facing three opponents. Your speed is superb, enough to keep you out of reach hopefully, helped by your incredible agility (acrobatics) and awesome fighting skills (Dex and M arts). Without your mental abilities (gone for an hour) you are hamstrung and therefore a final option might be to leave... for now... and help Miss Victory then come back with her and Fission.
Options... David M might offer suggestions too...?

OOC: Real dilemma, but I like Dave's idea of blasting the woman to give me time and then maybe going for getting this guy so made I do use his density to force him out of the ship by going downward and then flying the brute out. God willing with the dice and all. I'll flip points around as needed to strength etc...
All his options looked bad for Lionheart, but in a desperate attempt to even the odds, and do something unexpected, he launched at the brute, and then past him to attack the woman blasting at the force field. Hoping that in stopping her, he could reset the shields and give those inside more time, whilst he figured out if he could use the brutes mass and density and anger against him.
Lionheart did what he always did in situations like this and used the brute's impatience and ego against him. As he flew past faster he shouted out,
"Hey man from Mongo, Godzilla called she said this was no way to treat your her, as your mother and when were you coming home from tea? She also said that you weren't to play with that nasty Nexus boy, you aren't too big to take have a good spanking over her knee. - Don't get mad at me, I'm just telling it like it is!"
OOC: Thanks Dave edited my post to reflect your suggestions. Phew, good call.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #1 Starring Miss Victory and Lionheart! "White House Down..."
ooc: Two ideas.
Instead of trying to blast him up or out, blast or force him down, using his own weight to help smash him through as many decks as there are below him until he smashes out of the bottom of the satellite. Maybe just blast the floor under him and let his own falling speed and weight cause him to continue to fall through the decks?
Second idea, blast the woman blasting the energy shield. She did say if she stopped attacking it, it would reset and they would have to start all over again to try and take it down. That would buy more time to figure something else out.
