With a flash of her own eyes she stares at the Russian and he drops to the floor clutching his head!

"Nikolai?" says the other and Obsidian growls "Nikolai ain't gettin up soon punk."

OOC Obsidian should really be called 'Black Hole' but we'll agree that sounds iffy. He does though have 'Gravity Increase' with 'touch range' at rather high APs and is pretty agile for a big guy.

Vickie tries to see if she can help Obsidian take down the remaining bad guy by using her martial arts skills to throw/trip the pugly to the ground. If he is on the ground, ought to give Obsidian a bonus to hit. Not looking to do damage but knockdown with her Martial Arts skill.

The Russian is an accomplished fighter and Miss Victory really feels her relative lack of superhuman reflexes even though she operates at the peak of what is available to humanity with skill, training and reflexes that would put her on the top step of the Olympics at pretty much every physcial or martial discipline!

Obsidian snarls "You gettin it now man."

+6 EV (to 26) vs RV 10=16 RAPs. The Prisoner is dropped like a rock and groans as he suddenly weighs more than he can possibly lift (and takes 6RAPs damage leaving him on 4/10 Body).

The blows smacks the Russian who falls like he's suddenly holding 25,000 tons (which just about sums up what happened). He's still conscious but utterly pinned and about to succumb to the pressure!

Obsidian snarls and leans down. "Who's ya boss punk? Huh? Do I have to crush the answer outta ya?"

"Go... to ... hell..." he gasps.

Obsidian turns to Miss V who is glancing about. The Russian she'd recognised was gone, lost in the ruckus and brief melee. There'd be trouble from that one, sure enough.

The Prisoner groans and Obsidian relaxed the power rather than let it compress the man to damage him beyond knocking him out.

Obsidian glowers at the fellow then turns away in disgust. "Common prison goons, rounded up to be bully boys and tough till someone stands up to em."

OOC Want to make any enquiries or try to find the missing Russian or head back to the meeting with Mindshark who should have made up his mind what's happening with Miss Victory by now?

"I'm pretty sure who their boss is," Miss Victory told Obsidian. "He won't be hard to find. Let's go talk to Mindshark and see what he has to say to us and update him on what just happened."

ooc: Just before entering the room where Mindshark should be she will:
A. take a pill
B. Attempt to use Mind Blank to protect her mind from being read by Mindshark.

"I'm assuming," she says to the crowd who watched the fight, "that some of you will be reporting to Mindshark and let him know what you saw and heard? I hope you do."

She gives everyone a bright, confident smile and heads back to meet up with Mindshark and find out what he has to say.

The pair move through the corridors and keep an eye out. This floor *had* seemed pretty stable and secure under the leadership of Mindshark and others, mental power based.

However, the Russian contingent would not likely be happy to submit to another's rule when most of them - as criminals, mobsters, spies and foreign agents - were used to handing out the orders!

They passed a number of orange suited prisoners and there was some delay as a fight had broken out in a corridor over privacy and was being sorted out but the twenty or so gathered prisoners were still on the angry side.

"We can go this way. Each level is set out in a series of rings, connected like spokes from the inner to the outer ring. It does kind of make this place like a maze if you're in a hurry as you don't get time to read the numbers on the doors or the plaques but it pretty much mirrors the floor above an' below." explained Obsidian. "Looks like Mindshark n' his cronies got this place running pretty good. Aside from that kerfuffle back there o course."

The pair got to the right corridor and rounded it.

Obsidian placed a hand on Miss V's shoulder. "Huh. No guards outside th' door we want." he murmured. There was no one in the corridor.

ooc: Her power reserve only affects her physical stats. Are you saying with the roll you did she can expand that out to mental and mystic stats for this hour?

if not, then this is her default setting for her Power Reserve - +5 to Dex to make 15, +7 to Body to make 13, +11 to Str to make 17. When in doubt, use this setting.

Let's stick with the default setting from above and hope for the best.

"Let's be careful going in," she tells Obsidian. "Something is obviously wrong here. I'll rush in, distract whoever is in there, you come in after and clobber them, if we need to."

actions: use running to move quickly into the room and to the far side away from the door so whoever is in there has a choice of watching the door or turn around and watch her.

Obsidian 'powers up' gaining a foot in height and at least that in width and girth, jet black, menacing and ready to ground n pound...

Miss Victory runs in and across the other side of the room. She skids to a halt and turns. Mindshark and several of his inner circle, four of them in total, were face down on the floor with hands tied behind their back with what looked like wire. All were unconscious and some were bloodied. The men (and women) who'd done it were in prisoner orange (as everyone was) but all with shaved heads and a stern, proud look that reminded Miss Victory very much of the people in her home land.

The man she recognised from the program wasn't here but seven of his compatriots were. This was a coup!

OOC translated from Russian, which Miss V obviously understands...

"What? Get her! Wait! The black man! That must mean the woman is the one we seek!" hissed a woman with her knee in the small of a man's back on the floor. She stood and her eyes started glowing purple.

ALL of the Russians stood, with three facing Miss Victory (two women and a man) and four facing Obsidian who filled the doorway.

Attack glowie eyes woman first.  Glowie eyes are bad in Miss Victory's book as of now.  Martial Arts offense, acrobatics defense.

"No I am not," she replies back in English. "But I will do as your opponent until the one you want does show up!"

Yeah, sow a little confusion there. Too late to think this but I should have torn a sleeve or something and made a mask out of it to help hide her secret ID. If I survive this little confrontation, I will have to do so.

With a leap forward and SMECK Miss Victory wallops the Russian woman with glowing eyes! She flies back and thuds off the wall despite being 'out of phase' and barely able to interact with the physical world!

Obsidian squared up to two of the Russian Prisoners and swung a meaty fist at them!

Both Prisoners are GRAPPLED with 20 Str each and take 3 Body damage as the weigh pins them down (Both Prisoners at the bottom of the table have 7/10 Body and grappled with 20Str on each, when they have 8 Str so... A roll of 78 more than the grapple total will see them free. Something like that.)

With a single blow Obsidian flattened two of the Prisoners who fell to the floor and strained hard to get up but it seemed even their heads were too heavy to lift!

One of the Russian women screamed and blasted both Miss V and Obsidian at the same time with a mental bolt!

A searing Mental Bolt blasts Miss V and staggers her, whilst also striking Obsidian and making him scream!

OOC Because of the nature of play by post you didn't get chance to roll extra HP dice for defence for any of the attacks. You have HP28 and I wouldn't recommend burning through so many HP but it might help with the dice rolls. Again, I'd not recommend that and if you win initiative, get the heck outta there!!!

"Run," Miss Victory yells. "Retreat!"

ooc: IF she can, she is going to grab Mindshark and run out the door and out of sight. If not, she will grab Obsidian and run out the door. If she can only move herself, she runs out the door.

Miss Victory decides it's time to leave and Obsidian follows...

Knowing they were outgunned by this ruthless professional group of Russian super agents/criminals and sensing that one of them appeared to be using a variant of the powers that Miss Victory herself was able to call upon indicated it was time to go...

She grabbed up the prone form of Mindshark and ran for the door at speed. Obsidian stood aside and stepped backwards out of the door as Miss Victory raced past!

"I can hold the door closed for a short while but not forever!" shouted Obsidian. "Go! GO!"

Would Miss Victory leave her ally there?

OOC Obsidian is mistaken. He's stunned so can make NO dice action this round so he's going to fail. Miss Victory can race off down a corridor in either direction to round a corner and get out of sight/avoid attack because the prison only allows line of sight attacks. Anything that hits the walls will dissipate.

"I can hold the door closed for a short while but not forever!" shouted Obsidian. "Go! GO!"

Would Miss Victory leave her ally there?

"No! Come with me," she orders, grabbing Obsidian with a free hand while slinging Mindshark over her shoulder and holding him with the other, and pulls him along with her, heading for the medbay.

ooc: I'm guessing with her strength, even with his increased weight or mass she can handle both of them.

Miss Victory knows that closely matched in power PLUS the benefit of numbers means her former country mates are bad news!

Grabbing Obsidian by the arm she ran off up the corridor and split to the right at the crossroads. Obsidian hissed "We can take them!" but Miss Victory wasn't about to get taken down in some macho brawl!

"In there!" said Obsidian, pointing to an unoccupied cell.

The trio burst in and closed the door except for a last inch or so.

Shouting could be heard in Russian in the corridor.

"Which way! She was fast! They have Mindshark! We MUST get him back if we are to gain total control of this level!"

"Split up!"

"You go that way!"

"Down here!"

"Should we check the cells? Maybe..."

"They wouldn't be so stupid as to hang around! FIND THEM!"

Obsidian looked back at Miss Victory with Mindshark unconscious and slumped on the bed. "We won't get far without his powers. Should we wait till he recovers or keep moving? They may double back but having seen how fast you move... well, we could be anywhere in this place in seconds!"

Whilst that was true there were people in the corridors and Miss Victory wasn't fast enough to outrun the Russians. Perhaps a more... stealthy... approach. She stood out a mile with those looks and long blonde locks. Obsidian in his way was distinctive too. Who knew how many were looking for them, but this level was getting too hot to hang around in!

"My mental powers are shorted out for now," she mumbles while she thinks over things. "So I can't heal him that way. Let's see what I can do to revive Mindshark. Like the old movie said, 'he is our only hope.'"

ooc: use her medical skills to see what she can do to fix him up.

"I need to start hiding who I am," she says louder as she works on Mindshark. "Mind being a dear and ripping that blanket up and make me some kind of cowl that I can tie behind my head. Something to help hide my hair and half of my face. Something like Zorro would wear. A disguise for yourself would help too though we don't have many options here. I was hoping to find some more help here but we may have to move to another floor and try our chances there but first let's see what we can do for Mindshark."

Obsidian scowled. "A mask? Seriously? You think you'll stand out LESS in this place with a mask on? May as well paint a target on your ass." he moaned.

He shredded bedclothes and handed them to Miss Victory after making a suitable 'mask' albeit a ghetto version with wonky eyes and a distinctly home made look.

"There might be... I dunno... some hair dye or somethin' in the shower block. You want me to go check?" he asked, popping his head out of the door with his powers DOWN in order not to draw attention.

Whilst there wasn't a mark on Mindshark chances were he'd been blasted with something. Probably not mental powers given his strengths, more mystical.

If worst came to the worst she'd have to wait till he came round.

OOC Medical treatment subskill of Medicine skill is the nearest thing to treating Spirit damage which is the issue here but you can actually make things worse with a botched roll so that's something to think about AND you can try it only once per week. If you wait and monitor his condition you might want to try if it gets worse or just see if he recovers on his own. Your call, but all the while there are patrols and probably very soon the opening and shutting of doors to check the occupancy of each cell, when things might get nasty!

Obsidian scowled. "The safest bet would be to head across the level and back down the steps to Warlock and tell him what happened. If the Russians are making a play for this level that would not be a good thing."

"They are smart, well organised, powerful and ruthless. Warlock is a bad guy but he's not a wanton murderer. Maybe..." he said, chewing a lip "We have to leave this level in order to get Mindshark away. When he's back on his feet he's a powerful asset. Problem is he's only one man and when we leave this level there could be fifty, sixty bad guys all swung to the Russians' cause!"

He shrugged. "You and your secret identities, but I get why. I tried to keep my face off the evenin' news cause I got a young daughter to my ex partner but ended up in here an' they had to move into a witness protection program. My bad choices mean she ain't gonna see her father and will only know he was a bad dude with super powers."

He slumped onto the bunk and sighed. "My gut says we gotta stop the Russians before they take over this level and spread out to take on level four and six. My head says we're outnumbered, they got psychics and mystics an we can;t fight that kinda stuff without..." he glanced at Mindshark "People like him. Get him on side, he can recruit more like him and maybe we can stop this place from exploding!"

"There's another question. Down at the lowest levels are the baddest of the bad. I'm talkin that guy Nexus and others like him, though not as bad. He's just about the baddest guy on this planet. It's been quiet down there for a while. What happens when he decides to leave?"

"Got anyone else we can make allies out of on this level," she asks. "There have to be some who prefer Mindshark over the Russians. Maybe we can get some on our side and all of us head down to Warlock and his friends. But either way, I guess we could go down to his level and use that medbay to help MindShark. Now the question is, do we try it fast or slow? I can carry the two of you and run faster than most people can blink but I can't act multiple times faster like someone with superspeed can. So we would have to stop an open doors at regular speed and then start running again, for example."

"That would get us past most folks but would set off alarms and tracking systems, I think, and the Russians probably control that by now. And they will control the stairwell soon if they haven't got it already. Those are two essential areas I would control if I wanted to takeover a level."

"So, which gamble do you want to try? Move fast or move slow with Mindshark over my shoulder?"

Obsidian frowned. "There have to be a lot o guys who will follow Mindshark but if he's been taken down... chances are they'll tip to whoever did the deed. It's the survival of the fittest in this place. The Russians showed they could beat a bunch of psychics at their own game. I guess they could do the same with us so we need to be careful who we trust."

"Our job was to get to Mindshark and talk to him to suggest a meeting and a truce at the least with Warlock. if we dump an unconscious Mindshark at Warlocks' feet it's not really accomplishing anything. He'll shrug, then send someone to talk to the Russians." he sighed. "Mindshark is useless to us unless he's in charge of this level. May as well dump him here and get out if we can. From what I saw the Russians don't wanna talk to anyone until they make sure this level is theirs."

He pondered for a moment. "You are fast, smart, strong. How bout YOU take charge of this level?"

"Yeah, no, not going to happen. The .. medication I use and not having a steady supply of the ingredients to make more means my powers will go all over the place. But finding allies would be a good thing. I hear that another superhero is here somewhere. If we can team up with him, things will go much better. We need to get this place back into lockdown ... for everyone's sake. The aliens are still out there and taking advantage of us, using this event for their own dire purposes."

"Let's try getting to the medbay here and seeing if it can help Mindshark. Also there will be a computer there and I do have an ally who I can contact thru one and maybe he can help us team up with the other hero, a guy called Lionheart. Then we will see what we can do after that."

ooc: OK, plan is convert the 7 points of Power from Body into Running. Run to medbay, dodging everyone if possible, covert those 7 points back into Body. If medbay is safe, put Mindshark into the "tank" and then try to contact our ghostly buddy and see if he can tell me anything more about Lionheart. Holding both the guys over her shoulders as she runs.

So ... lets see if she can get out of this cell and at least down the corridor before even this plan goes to Hell.

Obsidian snarls "This is humiliatin... but the view is mighty fine." he admits as Miss Vic slings him over her shoulder. "I'll guide you to the med bay on this level. Shame we don't have your buddies Magma Girl and Irradiator with us. Might even the odds 'gainst those Russians."

With Mindshark over her other shoulder she pops her head out of the corridor and sees the coast is clear for now.

Racing off and following Obsidians instructions, the pair get through the corridors and round another... to duck back.

A shaven headed prisoner in orange was stood outside the Med Bay talking to someone inside the door. Miss Victory recognised Russian speech and groaned.

Obsidian stepped down and said "That mask o yours will make you a target for everyone, not just the Russians. You ready to fights hundreds of super prisoners?"

He peered round the corner. "That guy ain't goin'. He's a guard o some kind. Someone else in the med bay. Dammit we can't catch a break an' this level is only gonna get worse if we can't stop the Russians." He kneeled down and gave MindShark a shake. "Wake up!" he hissed. "Dammit. I bet this guy could one shot him from range."

Standing he flexed his fists and suddenly grew a foot in each direction with a covering of jet black energy. "Guess we do this the old fashioned way. You still look unsteady. Want me ta handle this guy?"

"I'll be right behind you," she says. "Looks like at least two to take down."

ooc: Plan is to put down Mindshark and then attack the first guy Obsidian attacks, if he doesn't go down, if he does, attack the second guy.
