With thudding feet thanks to his weight of 20 tons Obsidian thudded down the corridor with quite a lick of speed thanks to his vastly improved strength!

The Russian turned, yelled a warning inside the med bay and crouched to take on the massive Obsidian even as he bore down on him!

Miss Victory ran up behind Obsidian and set Mind Shark down, mindful to put him down gently as the floors were unyielding!

"Ooof!" stammers Obsidian as he takes a jaw breaking crack to the face! Shaking his head to clear it he knows he's likely to miss the lightning fast ultra strong Russian but does so anyway!

"Need a hand Miss V!" splutters Obsidian spitting out a gobbet of blood. "this guy is..."

Miss Victory knew she would struggle against this man. He was using an enhanced version of her own power serum! That meant possibly even more power than Miss V herself had!

She stepped forward and glanced down... Mindshark groaned and was stirring!

Delivering a terrific SMACK! Miss Victory sends the Russian flying down the corridor, sliding to a halt against a wall.

Obsidian is leaning over on unsteady legs spitting a steady stream of blood from his mouth. "Damn that guy was fast. You sure showed him V!" then he spat more blood out.

Another Russian came out into the corridor and cursed. He saw the downed man in the corridor and gaped then looked up at Obsidian and at Miss Victory. Then at Mindshark, who stumbled to his feet unsteadily. "What's happening?" he mumbled.

The Russian put his hands up in surrender and looked to be wanting to get out of there, except Miss V and Obsidian were blocking the way!

"Grab Mindshark and get him inside," she tells Obsidian as she pushes the surrendered man back into the room.

"Who are you and what are you doing here," she says in Russian and then switches to English.

ooc: You know, it dawns on me that for a Russian woman, I never bought English as a second language for Miss V. We may have to put some of her points towards that once I get some.

OOC True about the linguistics thing. Some things I just assume as a) it might be something you never use again and b) it doesn't affect gameplay or combat in the grand scheme of things. I could have easily made the antagonists Chinese or Middle Eastern (they were 'foreign agents' who ran foul of the Ultrahumans and ended up in here at any rate) but figured with Miss Victorys' past it was an opportunity to explore her past. Some of these guys are running around with an improved version of Miss V's serum in their blood. Improved... but flawed. Only Miss V has the 100% nailed on reliability but needs the pill to take it. They did away with the need for a pill and gained an advantage... as well as a big disadvantage. In game terms using Adrenaline Surge to push Power Reserve which is fine but with a big burnout chance that could mean they are more powerful than Miss V or completely devoid of extra power and easy meat for our heroine.

The Russian at first looked to tough it out then sighed. "My companion was an Ultrasoldier. I am mere 'super'. faster, stronger, tougher but not so much as you and your friend."

"I am Alexi Shimanovski. Sent to America to fight the rising tide of power in the form of their superhuman army! Unchecked they will take over the world and we cannot allow that! We were given a super soldier serum developed over many years in the hope of battling the rising tide... but we failed. The Ultrahumans are too strong and we ended up in here! The world MUST know that they are the true enemy! At some point... at some point they will overthrow governments and take control with an iron grip that NONE can resist!" he said in Russian.

He sighed and relaxed a little in Miss V's grip. "And now we learn our country has sided with ADVENT. They will be worse than the Ultrahumans but no one sees it. They see shining new buildings, cheap premium goods, infrastructure projects completed overnight and 'a new better way of life' and they fall for it. Nothing in this life is for free and ADVENT will soon exact a price. Whatever it is, it is one the human race will have to pay as a whole. Why have the Ultrahumans not acted against ADVENT? We do not know, but neutrality even as the rest of the world falls under ADVENTs sway is a foolish tactic. One does not sleep soundly whilst lying in a bed of snakes!"

"Advent is the one who started this whole riot," Miss Victory snarls, "and you played and continue to play right into their hands. The longer this riot goes on, the more people who are killed, the weaker humanity becomes, the easier it is for them to take us over!"

"So are you going to continue to be a lackey for the alien world conquerors or are you going to help us stop them? And the first step to stopping them is to stop this riot and internal fighting!"

She looks to see if Obsidian has come back in with Mindshark.

She walks over to the medbed and exams it to determine what she needs to do to heal up the now semi-conscious Mindshark and then Obsidian and herself.

"I am not in charge here." said the Russian. "Elektrostantsiya is (Powerhouse) and it is to him we defer. He is the most powerful of us, maybe even more powerful than you and your friend. All your words will mean nothing to him. His priority is to take over this level then lead a force that will crush all others. They will be given the choice to serve or die, and all of this place will be opened up for him to lead a superhuman army out and take revenge on the Ultrahumans!"

Obsidian had settled Mindshark on a gurney and was puzzling the controls for the automated surgeon when Mindshark reached over to tap a sequence into a console and a light shone down to bathe him. "This will take a short while but it aids the healing process. Thankyou, Miss Ch... Miss Victory." said Mindshark. "Would you like me to dispose of the Russian? It would take but a thought."

"No thank you," she replies tartly. "He is co-operating and seems to have a great deal of useful information. We may yet get him to ally with us. Now you rest."

"Obsidian, you get the next one. Not sure if it will also help recover your mind but if it does, you probably need it. I bet your thoughts are a bit muddled right now after that mental blast you took as well as that blow."

"Speaking of blow, I better go get that nice fellow we knocked out. Can you keep him unconscious, Mindshark? I would prefer you not kill him. Just in a nice coma until everything sorts out would be nice."

She goes back out into the hall to pick him up, giving him a nice hard love tap to make sure he stays out for awhile longer. Then brings him back in.

"Ok, Alexie, what do they call you, in English please. Or do you prefer to be called Alexie by everyone?"

She asks that as she activates the computer in the room to attempt to make contact with Shellghost. She wants to find out if he knows about the other hero and his whereabouts and any other updates he can give her.

Alexi clams up "I am Soviet Super Soldier. No codename, here as support for the main Soviet Super Team. I have already said enough. I cannot help you. I am loyal to my country."

Miss Victory considered that she was a defector and would be considered a traitor by this man and the other Russians in here. It seemed like the Soviet Union had sent many if not all of their most powerful agents to undermine the Ultrahumans only for them to be absent when the giant monster that devastated Moscow because they'd confronted the American superteam and been defeated/placed in prison. For that they blamed the Ultrahumans.

"It appears I owe you a favour." said Mindshark stiffly as the machines scanned over and around his body. A number of internal injuries showed up consistent with being battered by powers that could smash an army. "In my defence I need to be without compassion and make clear, decisive decisions for the good of the many, not for the few. If you can help me restore control to this level and defeat the Russians, I will make sure you have free passage through this level and hopefully the one above and below as I was in the process of setting up a truce."

Miss V considered his words then typed in Shellghost.

Almost instantly words typed up on the screen. "I haven't got long. Someone is in here with me. They know about me and are hunting me down! Someone else was in... on level 3 near the stairwell. He reactivated the power nullifiers but was somehow caught in the walls and killed. According to the cameras someone has infiltrated this level and fought a battle at the stairwell. The last I was able to see before I was almost caught, they were headed for the meeting room where the Russians now hold sway."

ooc:  Is there more than one medbed?  If so, need to get Obsidian in it.  If not, then get him in next.

"Thanks, stay safe, will try to find him," she types back and then logs off.

"We got an ally of sorts heading towards your meeting room," Miss Victory says to MindShark.  "I'm going to try to grab him and bring him here while you guys heal up.  Back in a flash!"

Using her Running Speed,
[let's look this up.  An athletic person can run 4 APs, most cars have 7 APs of Running, performance sports cars and Miss Victory have 8 APs of running. So 220+ MPH maybe?]
she heads back towards the meeting room looking for anybody who doesn't seem to be on the Russians' side, so probably outside and glaring at them or hiding and watching.

If she spots a man alone or with a small group of people, she, in her prison jumpsuit and her Zorro half-cowl that hide her hair, which means a weird bunch in the back, dashes up and quickly asks,  "Hey!  Are you that Limey I'm looking for?"

She goes to each single man or small group that doesn't appear to be part of the gathering at the door to the "lair".  If she doesn't hear a British accent, she moves on and doesn't worry about fighting them or explaining herself.

If she finds him, she grabs him and anyone else who looks like they are with him, and runs him back to the Medbay.

OOC I am posting this post in Lionhearts' issue as well as this one and will copy/paste as required. Lionheart is due another issue (he's well into 10 pages) and will probably merge into Miss Victorys' adventure or vice versa.

Obsidian has found some restraints for the Russian and growls at him, warning him to behave or he'd be battered unconscious!

Or blasted, Mindshark adds.

The Russian, knowing what Mindshark is capable of, complies.

Then the Prisoner settles onto a second bed and a scanner lowers from the ceiling to start scanning his body for injury.

Miss Victory is pretty smart and can remember the way back to the meeting room where she'd first encountered the Russians.

She rounds a corner and sees a large group of prisoners (twenty or more) gathered in the corridor and blocking access through it as they listen to words said inside the meeting room through the open door.

In her mask she stands out somewhat from the gathered Prisoners and when she hops up and down and sees a small group on the other side of the massed gathering, she shouts out "Hey! Are you that Limey I'm looking for?"

Lionheart sees a masked face hop up to near the ceiling roof and clearly (with super hearing) hears her shout!

Unfortunately so do many of the gathered prisoners and they turn to see what is being shouted and by whom!

OOC pfft between Lionheart and Miss Victory they can easily take on an army of supervillains almost as powerful as they are! Errrr.... maybe.

Lionheart looks at 'possessor' and back again at the crowd.  He turned back to his group..."Ermm change of plan, this isn't supposed to be the way this plays out.  It looks as if someone got here first.  But we might have to clear the decks before we get to find out what is going on.  Just as well you got the big strong guy Possessor?  We might need to knock down these boys like ten pin bowling?"

Lionheart then sprung up and shouted back, "Yeah - but there seems to be some interference coming between us!" Pointing at the respective crowd of orange bedecked prisoners between them.

OOC: OK if we need to knock heads and get them to skedaddle I'm up for that but I kind of hope it won't be necessary to do so...but ready and willing.  I'd let Possessor take the lead she can use strong Russian to toss a few about before me and the boy joins in.

The prisoners turned, seeing Lionheart and his hairy ally along with one of the of the goons set to guarding the stairwell (Possessor).

This was going to turn ugly!

The hallways looked the same but Miss Victory was a smart cookie and simply ran to the hub, when to the next 'spoke' and followed it to the end, turned left and at the next left... looked down the corridor to see the back of Lionheart/Lupus/Possessor and beyond them the prisoners gathered outside Mindsharks/Russians office.

Lionheart turned. He could hear Miss Victorys heartbeat and sensed no danger from her. She was dressed in Prison orange aside from the shredded sheet as a mask.

Speeding up Miss V skidded to a halt in front of the trio...

Behind the prisoners were now taking an unhealthy interest in them... and there were more than 20 of them!

"Hi, I think we might have been looking for one another, and these are friends unlike this mob behind us. We came to free Mindshark and get some order on this floor before seeking to find the control room. This only way this is going to end is if we end the threat here. OOC: Ok depending on what Miss V knows, but if we've got to take them out she'd know, so will go full bore on them, and using martial arts and speed see if we can't dissuade them from taking too much of an interesting in us. Then the how-de-do's can begin!

At speed Miss Victory grabbed the burly prisoner (Possessor inhabiting) and the hairy one (Lupus) and sped off with Lionheart in pursuit!

The British hero had no problem keeping up and they sped through and around the mob, soon losing them in the mini maze of main corridors and side corridors.

Within moments they arrived back at the medlab.

Obsidian started when he saw the others but Miss V reassured him. Mindshark wasn't so easily won over. "Who are these people?" he snarled. "Let's see eh?"

Lionheart wasn't about to let that happen and both he and Possessor started towards Mindshark... Obsidian stood up and towered over them! "That's far enough!"

Lupus LEAPT over the the group and behind Mindshark and snarled, putting claws at Mindsharks throat!

Miss V pushed in to calm things down and Mindshark glanced nervously at the claws... "All right! I.. yield!" he says nervously. "I'm just on edge having been ambushed and attacked by those Russians already! I needed to know he wasn't one of them!"

Possessor/Brutish Prisoner and Obsidian glowered at each other. "Any time you want pal." growled Obsidian. Possessor/Brute laughed "You have NO idea of what I could do to you!" which put him off guard slightly.

Time to calm things down!

OOC Over to Lionheart and Miss Victory...

"Well, introductions are in order. I am Miss Victory, a new superheroine. I've done some minor things but this is my first big action, so you may not have heard of me. And I've totally botched up this mission, getting at least one, possibly two other superheroes killed so I hope British Guy knows what he is doing. Shellghost is the only other superhero still alive in our main group that made it inside the base. He is in the tech of the base and being pursued by a very powerful foe and anytime he makes contact with us, he puts his life on the line."

"I'm super-strong, fast, dexterous, and somewhat bulletproof, except my powers fluctuate, which is why I have to take some special pills. So sometimes I'm very handy to have around and other times I'm pretty weak."

"That reminds me, Mindshark," pointing to the villain on the medbed, "where are the pills your folks found on me the first time you beat me unconscious? They are somewhere on this level and getting my hands on them will increase our chances as my powers will stabilize with the correct pills."

"Oh! This is Mindshark, who ran this level of the prison. Had my female partner beaten to death by his stooges, a female prisoner who didn't seem to belong here. The Russian supers here have taken over this level with a surprise attack on him and his main lieutenants. We've sort of teamed up to try to lower the violence on this level, which means we have to take out the Russians pretty soon because he is a much better choice than they are as he does have some sort of code of honor, even killing one of the men who was about to rape me when I was helpless but has no problems beating helpless women to death otherwise if they resist him. Everyone killed here and every hour this place is kept as a madhouse means Advent is just that much closer to taking over the whole world."

"This is Obsidian, also a prisoner, but from the level below us. He and I, on orders from the boss of the level, came up to this level in order to try to broker a peace between the two floors. He doesn't like me very much since he didn't know I was a superheroine until just a short time ago but he is actually a pretty honorable guy who has watched my back throughout our fun times on this floor. So I trust him. He grows, gets heavier and stronger."

"This is Alexie, he is one of the Russians who have taken over this floor in a power grab. He speaks both Russian and English. He is strong and fast but has surrendered because I am stronger and faster and Obsidian and I beat that guy over there," pointing to the other unconscious Russian prisoner, "pretty darn quickly who is even stronger and faster than Alexus is and he doesn't want to go through the pain of recovering from multiple broken bones, skull fractures and concussions that he is going to have to go through, do you, Alex? So don't trust him and keep your eyes on him."

"And I think that is every one on this level who is with me. Got a friend, another girl prisoner here who doesn't seem to belong, on the floor below healing up from her massive injuries, so she could be an ally if she heals in time and we make it down to the next level."

"Now, who are you and what can you do and what do we do to resolve all these messes?"

Mindshark was uncomfortable. "I told them to get information from Mind Maiden not kill her. When I give an order I expect it to be obeyed, so I have been lobotomising all those who do not obey me." he said as if mind wiping someone was a preferable alternative to death.

Lupus snarled "You're still a scumbag!"

Mindshark actually chuckled. "Boy, look around you! This is a PRISON! Did you think we were all innocent? We are ALL in here for one reason or another. That reason could be using powers for ill gotten gains or simply just having powers and not being able to control them. Until they find a way to ... 'cure' us they throw us in here and toss away the key, to rot. Did you think you would serve a sentence then be let free to rejoin society?"

Lupus mumbled "Well, er..."

"No. You are in here for the rest of your life. You may have been a mass murderer, a terrorist, a thief, a gangster or any other form of 'scumbag' you define everyone by, but for better or worse everyone in this place is in here for the rest of their lives unless they can be reverted back to being an ordinary human. Most of the worst ones in here cannot be killed, so a death sentence doesn't apply, and they tried exile. That was disastrous with an army of angry criminals coming back to destroy the world. The Ultrahumans kept that quiet but it was a close run thing. Have you ever heard of NEXUS? I cannot think of a more powerful being on this world and it took all of the Ultrahumans - yes even Silver Sentinel - to stop him and even then by trickery. There are... TRILLIONS, possibly infinite versions of himself he can call on to combine into a single entity from across the multiverse. He's four or five levels down from us. This prison was built to hold him and they threw the rest of us in here because of the cost and needing to fill the space." said Mindshark.

"I could repay my debt to society, reform, do good works... and it wouldn't matter. I would rot in here until my powers faded and I spent my days drooling. Some times I pray for death, then this happened and I find a need to restore order to chaos otherwise we would tear each other apart until only Nexus remained. I am a scumbag. We all are, but the crimes we committed outside of this place only match the crime of keeping us in here without sentence, parole, any chance of release. They may as well have dropped a nuclear bomb in here but Nexus would only absorb it and let out a light cough whilst the rest of us were ash."

He sighed. "Don't mind me. It's been a rough couple of days and for what it is worth Miss Victory I am sorry for you and your friends treatment and you have my word I shall never reveal your secrets. It's stressful trying to restore order to chaos and with a dozen voices in your ear, more in your head, it leaves me... irritable."

"Still a scumbag." said Lupus but he turned away and sagged onto a gurney.

Mindshark added "My apologies to you ..." to Lionheart. "When I see strangers coming through the door I feel like I need to make sure they aren't going to kill me and undo the work I've done over the last day or two. I can't remember when I last slept. In a place where anyone could be an enemy and kill you in your sleep, it would be an unwise thing to let your guard down. As for your pills..."

"They are in the meeting room. I kept them on my person because I sensed your power and felt at some point it might be good to have an ace in the hole. Unfortunately the Russians somehow found out and stripped them from me. I'm amazed I am still alive. Perhaps they were getting around to fixing that mistake."

Turning to Possessor Lionheart calmly walked over and said, "Stand down, this isn't the hill to die on today!"

Then turning to Mindshark and the others, Lionheart added, "Besides what I'd really like to know is, what the heck is going on down here and how are we going to put it right?"

She checks over the medbed to see when Mindshark would be healed enough to let someone else use it.

Lionheart quickly filled the details. Who Possessor and Lupin where. And of Melton's heroic sacrifice together with how he'd been tasked with getting to the Control room to shut out Advent. Whom, Lionheart had good suspicions for believing were making a move on the countries not yet under their control by creating enough distractions to keep all the powerful Meta Human's occupied till they were in place. Hence the attempt at breaking out here.

"I also believe Advent is somehow involved in this whole thing," Miss Victory replies. "The Ultrahumans are too spread out and kept too busy otherwise. So if we can restore order here and put Mindshark back in power, we can go through the next level without having to fight our way through."

Looking over everyone she asks, "who else is injured and needs to use the medbed to heal up?"

ooc: Just got to find out if we have two or more beds to use or just the one.

OOC Two med beds and basically they are automated machines that can perform surgery or depower someone for just long enough that a special concoction of chemicals can be bumped into someone to cure a disease or whatever. That function is very hit/miss - some supers rely on their powers to keep them alive so depowering someone to inject them might take away a power that is otherwise preventing the disease or whatever from killing the patient.

Bascially everyone in the room with injuries (Miss V, MindShark, Obsidian, Lupus) just needs enough time to make a recovery check. If the character has regeneration that's less than one hour otherwise it's an hour wait.

Mindshark sighed "Do I want to be in charge of this level? No. I would prefer to sit in my cell and read books, possibly find a violin to play and ignore the chaos going on outside my door. Even eating would be a battle. Imagine having to fight your way through to the canteen then have to negotiate or battle for slops... slops that might be hoarded or that I would have to find and cook myself. If and when order is restored in this place and we are rendered powerless that will be a solution, but till then people will be hurt or die and when they do restore this place to nullifying powers and making us into ordinary criminals then our lives - if such can be called - can then continue."

"If Nexus restores his powers..." he exhaled heavily. "The stuff this place is made of will crumple while he walks through it. Silver Sentinel could break out of this place I expect, with some effort and a lot of time. Nexus?" he shook his head. "If he gets chance he'll walk out of here and smash whoever is on the other side of that door. If ADVENT's plan is to set him free, and they succeed, they might get a nasty surprise when Nexus decides that he doesn't need their help."

"So what's the plan?" asked Possessor in the body of the brutish criminal. "This body is strong and pretty fast and durable. Lupus is all of that and a good fighter. Obsidian is strong, tough and durable. Miss Victory is all that and fast, Lionheart is FAST and strong and... Mindshark has mental powers. Are we enough to restore peace to this place and hand it back to our jailers?"

"Not necessarily, this 'episode' has proven that things here are not ideal in fact they are downright dangerous but even worse some of the folk here. However getting things restored, so that Advent doesn't get its wish, and does get bumped to the naughty list is our top priority. Wouldn't you agree Miss V?"

OOC: I am voting we go forward to get to the control room, that is my main mission and what I came in to do. Moreover, if we are the ones that restore things and pull the very bad fat out of the very big fire, I think it will carry more weight with the need to reform things. Besides, Lupus, Melton and Possessor shouldn't be in here.
