The woman considers Miss V's words and sighs. "I'm not cut out for this. I thought I'd earn some money but every job led to more bother until the Ultrahumans caught us breaking into a vault. The others were taken down but I surrendered. I knew if I used my FULL power I'd kill someone and whatever my folks owed on the farm wasn't worth that."
She sighed and the glow vanished. "Your friend will be ok. I stunned her with my radiation but there will be no lasting effects. When I was sent to jail my pa sold everything he had to pay the legal fees and the bank foreclosed, taking our land. So I screwed up and here I am, paying for my mistakes while my folks live with the shame and in poverty."
She looked up. "I... if you can get me out of here I promise to turn over a new leaf! There must be something I can do to help my folks with my powers!"
Outside the door were voices. Someone was just about to come in!

"Try to wake up Magna Girl," Miss Victory hissed, looking around for anything she could use as a weapon - bleach, a pipe wrench, vinegar or anything that would help her with her martial arts skills to take one whoever opened the door, she wanted to avoid using her powers more than she had already done, to keep from being tracked by the system.

Miss Victory grabs a container of bleach and figures unless someone was ready for it that it would impair their vision whilst she socked em in the jaw!
Irradiator looked about and sniffed in various containers, finding one that smelled awful. Some very powerful cleaning substance no doubt.
She waved that under Magma Girls nose until she started to stir.
The door handle clicked and the door started to open when...
"Hey! The boss called. There's trouble upstairs. Some super... one of the ULTRAHUMANS is in here and he's cornered! We need ta get up there and give him a kickin! He's managed to get in here so there must be a way out! The boss reckons anyone who figures it out or beats it outta him gets a cool $20 Mill when we get outta here!"
"$20 Mill? Who's he tryin ta kid?"
"Huh, you don't know? Ramraider is the only one to break into Fort Knox and is the reason they beefed the place up! Don't mess with him man, he's badass!"
"Huh I don't think... ok he is badass. Did he really kill that West Coast Centurion? Whassername?" The voices are fading away...
Magma Girl wakes "Wha! Miss Victory! She's... oh she's not green anymore. Uhhh my head." she groans. She's incredibly unsteady on her feet and needs help to move (OOC Body 0 so on the edge of awake/KO'd)
Irradiator looks up at Miss Victory. "You heard them. If they get to that hero first they'll give him the beating of his life! EVERYONE will be homing in on him! Maybe... maybe if they figure the way out we can sneak out and get away..."
"Are you kidding?" said Magma Girl, drunkenly slurring her words. "They'll make anyone who wants out have to pay... or to work for them..."
Miss Victory peered out into the corridor. The coast was clear.

OOC To help another character recover you can pay a 15HP fee for 'Desperation Recovery' that grants a free recovery check (rather than waiting an hour). Medicine would help if the character could have bed rest and if they'd taken damage from killing combat etc, but doesn't grant a recovery check faster than the hour...

"I think the more the merrier," Miss Victory says brightly, "so let's go try to get hel ... er ... help out that hero who is in over his or her head."
actions: back up the stairs, a little more openly as crooks would be looking for one heroine dressed like a prisoner not 3 female prisoners. That's my story and I am sticking to it.

Magma Girl responds well to the wafting of air in her face and sniffing of foul substances and soon recovers.
The trio, dressed as prisoners, leave the room. Irradiator is the most nervous with Magma Girl not much better. They lead the way through the corridors which are maze like to Miss Victory. In reality the levels are laid out like wheels with multiple spokes as corridors and arrayed one on top of the next for a total of 9 levels with the top being an entrance the bottom being the main control room for the entire prison.
As they approach the end of a corridor to where Magma Girl states the stairs are the group see a small group (five) of criminals laughing, joking and smoking as they stand guard at the stairwell door.
One of them nudges another and they take notice of the three women as they approach. One of the five is a woman, though very 'mannish' and the rest are men, including one with Blue skin. Two are heavily muscled though the more dangerous ones could often be the average/slightly built prisoners. This place was dangerous, with every single inmate possessing some super power or even extreme level of skill that could mean they are dangerous opponents!
"They've seen us. We can't turn around without alerting them." muttered Irradiator. She started to glow slightly green, a sign she was nervous. Magma Girl muttered "I don't know all of them but one of them is Blackrock. He has a killer rep. He can blind you and beat you to a pulp whilst you can't see what you're doing!" she was referring to one of the hulking prisoners.
The trio were still some distance away (about 30 feet) with the prisoners guarding the stairs straightening up and taking an interest in the newcomers.
"Talk our way out or...?" asked Magma Girl.
OOC What points are you using for Miss Victory? She hasn't done too much yet but I'm mindful of the hour long limitation on her powers... May have to start posting a timer of sorts with every response... Unless you have another suggestion.

Ask fer Mindshark an get him ta confirm." growled Blackrock. He eyed the women hungrily but leaned back against the wall, arms crossed. "If ya story checks out, fine, ya can go." he said as one of the other Prisoners (a male) wanders off to check out the story.
"If not? Well then, you're all mine." he said, eyes completely black and sinister looking.
"Wait over there. Try anythin an yer ass'll get kicked." he growled while pointing to a spot ten feet away on the other side of the corridor. The other prisoners looked disappointed but Blackrock clearly wasn't one to mess with.
"What do we do?" hissed Magma Girl. "Blackrock has a badass rep! The others probably aren't pushovers! Once they check out the story we'll be taken back for sure!"
"I'm not going back." said Irradiator, resolute. "No way no how." she said, her eyes flashing green. "There's three of us, four of them. If we take down Blackrock the others will be weaker."

"We're just wondering what Mindshark will do to us if we're delayed. And what he'll do to you!" said Irradiator, trying to sound more bold than she was.

She wants to wait until he is around the corner before beginning their attack. "As if we would listen to you," she says in disgust, not really feigned, "we know exactly what we need to do and we don't need and won't let anyone stop us from doing what we need to do. So get out of our way before we make you get out of our way!"
ooc: That should be long enough to for the one guy to get around the corner and not see and maybe not hear as well, the beginning of the fight. If not, she will say something else along those lines. Then she signals the attack, group attack on Blackrock.
"Punch Him!" being her brilliant signal to the other two girls.

"You next," Miss Victory says, pointing to prisoner #2, so the other girls know who to attack next. "Victory Punch!"
Finally, she was starting to win again. Even her upbeat personality was starting to take a beating and it felt good to think she was just going to continue to lose and lose and lose. She would have to see what she could do for Magma Girl and Irradiator when this was all over. Doc would be able to help with that, he had a battery of lawyers who helped with all his charitable organizations including helping folks in jail who might have not received a fair trial.
actions: Drop Body 2 points to 11 and raise Str 2 points to 17. Then punch #2.

"Let me check on her," Miss Victory says quickly. She then moves to the woman and uses her Medical Skills to determine how bad she is [since she doesn't know she is dying yet] and begins any First Aid that might be possible. Also will determine if she can save her here or we need to retreat back to one of the med bays or go to a med bay on this level they are trying to get into to save her life. The floors should be laid out somewhat similarly so such places should be in the same places - cheaper to lay pipe and wire that way than every floor being different.

OOC ok killing combat is a really tricky thing in the DC Heroes game. The OV/RV to this check is 13/13 which is the total damage to her Body condition. For Miss Victory with 8 Int/Will this is going to be very, very challenging to overcome. You get an extra two dice from Medicine but even with a double you will have to roll high enough to overcome that whopping RV. For instance just to succeed with 1 RAP (which is hardly worth it as in 8 seconds time you'll need another check) you will have to exceed the OVT (Opposing Value Total) by 16 which is very unlikely. Let's see what happens.

With her hands covered in blood to try and stem the bleeding Miss Victory was exasperated. She could keep trying to save her but the fact was she was a skilled Doctor. She would need to be a world class surgeon or have a superhuman ability to heal injuries... which in a prison of over a hundred was likely someone would have in this place, though not necessarily on this level.
"She's still bleeding." said Magma Girl. "Is she ... is... is she going to die?" she said, lip trembling.
In Miss Victorys professional opinion there were serious internal injuries and despite being superhuman, Irradiator would die within 2 hours. An ordinary person would already be dead...

So let's say you get a great roll and 6RAPs
Mind Maiden can use 4APs of her powers for 2 rounds, or 5 APs for 1 round. If you managed some craxy roll or tried to go for broke, you can manage enough to unleash her full mind powers.
Beware, for your mind will fight back! If you fail to overcome your own mind (0APs or less scored) your mind will attack you back in turn with any RAPs scored being inflicted as Mind Damage!
The biggest issue is that you will be putting off the death until she gets medical treatment that stops the bleeding. You can heal her, but it's kinda like sticking on a plaster while she's bleeding on the inside. However if you were to somehow restore her to full health that would fix what was happening inside. Anything less than that and she loses 1AP Body every 8APs (15 minutes) until unconscious and death at -11 Body.

Miss Victory concentrated. She wasn't sure of whether she was using the power correctly as it wasn't her power, but could see Irradiators skin colour improving slightly from a pale sheen to a pale... non sheen. She was still dying, still in a bad way but...
"Uhhhh... I don't feel so good." she mumbled and tried to get up. Magma Girl hissed "She's alive!"
Miss Victory leaned back. Whatever the power was supposed to do, it hadn't 'fixed' her but had restored consciousness so that was a good thing.

Irradiator is restored to Body 1/10 but is still dying and in 8APs (15 minutes) will lose 1 body again.
With time ticking away the single use power takes effect and Mind Maidens presence slides away once more into the ether.
"Hurry!" said Magma Girl. The pair had dragged Irradiator into a cell off the corridor and she now stood at the doorway. "They haven't seen us yet but I can hear doors slamming! They are checking all the cells! There are a lot of them!" She'd dragged the bodies of the prone prisoners into the same cell and was keeping an eye on them.
Miss Victory concentrated. She wasn't sure of whether she was using the power correctly as it wasn't her power, but could see Irradiators skin colour improving slightly from a pale sheen to a pale... non sheen. She was still dying, still in a bad way but...
"Uhhhh... I don't feel so good." she mumbled and tried to get up. Magma Girl hissed "She's alive!"
Miss Victory leaned back. Whatever the power was supposed to do, it hadn't 'fixed' her but had restored consciousness so that was a good thing.
Magma Girl turned. "What took so long! They are in our corridor and will find us when they've finished looking in all the cells! I count... four... no .. five!" she hissed.
Irradiator sat up. "I'm ready to fight! What ha... oh. What happened to Blackrock?"
Magma Girl glanced at Miss Victory. "Never mind that..." she said. "We need to get out of here!" she hissed. She changed into living lava...

"You need serious medical treatment, Irradiator, unless you can somehow regenerate," Miss Victory says quickly. "I've temporarily stopped the bleeding but that's all I've done. You will start bleeding to death very soon if we don't get you that help."
"Magma Girl, stop panicking. Let's think. Grab these guys and ... er ... sit them up and sit in their laps. Let's make it look like we are making ... UGH! ... out with them. Have them face away from the door."
"You rest, Irradiator, try to not move."
She grabs the biggest thug, plops him on the edge of the bunk facing away from the door, so she is the one facing the door. She puts one of his arms over her shoulder and the other around her waist and leans his head against her neck, so it looks like he is necking her. And hopes for the best.
"Magma Girl, stop panicking. Let's think. Grab these guys and ... er ... sit them up and sit in their laps. Let's make it look like we are making ... UGH! ... out with them. Have them face away from the door."

Magma Girl looked horrified but she and Miss Victory gathered the downed prisoners and made like they were 'making out'.
"Look convincing!" hissed Irradiator to Magma Girl. "What are you? A nun?"
Magma Girl, powered down, glowered and held the unconscious thug just off her chest. Miss Victory preferred the on top pose but knew this would be a long shot.
The door opened to sounds of moaning and gyrating as a female prisoner looked in. "Hey you lot! What's going on? Some kind of gangbang? Where's Blackrock? He was in charge of security here! Masterforce will have your hides if you are caught napping!"
