Jackhammer arms, crit blow, acrobatics on defense, team attack. Either move in closer/stretching body or sports goggle glasses to ignore any range modifiers.

Re: The NEW Vanguard TEAM UP! Haunt Issue #12 with special guest star Steeplejack!
Leaping through the window followed by the stretching form of Haunt with jackhammer hands the pair surprise the alien who nonetheless moves with lightning reactions to pulls his gun from his holster!
OOC Roll(2d12)+0: 10 Haunt (36),3 Steeplejack (37)
Steeplejack acts first though both attack at the same time with team attack. The Thin Man can't dodge (surprise) but still has those reflexes...
AV13 + 3D M arts (2D Acro) + Roll(5d12)+0: 8,8,12,11,7,+0 Total:16 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 7,4,+0 Total:27 (40) vs
OV12 + Diff 3 - Team attack 2 - Surprise 4 + Roll(2d12)+0: 9,5,+0 Total:14 (23) Hit
+6 (to 19 EV) vs RV6 + Diff 3 (RV9)=10 RAPs. The Thin man is DOWN and OUT!
Haunt is about to pummel the hated enemy into a smear when he sees his partner has already karate kicked him into a distant wall!
There is noise as someone comes out to investigate...
Two men - in Victorian garb - come out of an office, impassive looks on their faces... and then they change! One ripples, morphs and splits, changing into a grotesque FACELESS and the other shimmers to become a hulking MUTON!
Faceless...
Muton...
OOC initiative...
Pick yer targets, dice split (attack/defence) and crit blow/dev attack. Remember Crit Blows and Dev attacks!

"Let's keep up the team attack," The Haunt yells.
Multi-attack, team attack, crit blow, same offense, defense with skills.

Steeplejack indicated the Muton, with its ranged attack it might be more harmful than the Faceless first off.
OOC: OK 3/2 split with Devastating attack again for me please.

Re: The NEW Vanguard TEAM UP! Haunt Issue #12 with special guest star Steeplejack!
OOC Ok, Haunt on both, team attack, crit blow, dice split 3D/3D
Steeplejack on Muton, team attack, Dev Attack, dice split 3/2
Steeplejack up first...
Team/Dev Attack on Muton AV13 + 3D M arts + Roll(5d12)+0: 2,5,6,5,9,+0 Total:10 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 8,9,+0 Total:27 (40) vs
OV8 - team attack 2 + diff 3 + dev attack 8 + 2D Acro (3D weaponry) + Roll(5d12)+0: 7,3,9,12,6,+0 Total:21 (38)
+2 (to 15 EV) vs RV12 - 12 Dev Attack +3 Diff (RV3)=12 RAPs. The Muton is DOWN and OUT!
Haunt no longer needs to multi attack and doesn't get the team attack on the faceless (as Steeplejack isn't attacking it) but the two cancel each other out...
Haunt ...
Crit Blow AV10 + 3D M arts + Roll(5d12)+0: 7,2,8,12,11,+0 Total:23 (33) vs
OV8 + crit Blow 4 + diff 3 + Roll(2d12)+0: 1,11,+0 Total:12 (27)
+3 (to 18 EV) vs RV12 - 6 Crit Blow + diff 3 (RV9)=9 RAPs. The Faceless is on 3/12 Body and responds to Haunt!
Crit Blow AV8 + diff 3 + 3D M arts + Roll(5d12)+0: 3,1,12,12,8,+0 Total:24 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 11,6,+0 Total:41 (52) vs
OV10 + Acro 3D + Crit Blow 4 + Roll(5d12)+0: 7,3,7,10,4,+0 Total:14 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 5,10,+0 Total:29 (43)
+4 (to 19) vs RV14 - 6 Crit Blow - Diff 3 (RV5)=14 RAPs. Haunt must absorb 1 damage to stay on Body 1/14 and is STUNNED on HP8
A blur of motion and savagery as the Muton goes flying and the faceless is hammered by Haunt only to respond with a slash that almost disembowels the flexible hero!
Stunned, Haunt falls back and gapes at the Faceless stood over him ready to slash again and finish him off!
OOC Eeek! That 24 roll really did for Haunt there! Haunt is stunned and cannot act (or use skills) so the chances are that he'll get chopped in half! Only Steeplejack can help him now! The faceless is injured so you may not have to Dev Attack this time... You're up (Steep wins initiative without a roll on these guys)
Steeplejack on Muton, team attack, Dev Attack, dice split 3/2
Steeplejack up first...

An involuntary cry almost escapes from Steeplejacks's mouth as he sees his formidable friend almost cut in half and knocked to the ground. But instead, he channelled his anger into his martial arts skills and launched at the creature who was intent on its kill.
OOC: Ok go for Crit instead of Devastating attack and 3/2 attack again.

ooc: Be a perfect time for the Haunt to use his stretching power to absorb damage ... that is, it would be if he wasn't stunned.

Steeplejack/Gibb leaps over to karate kick the Faceless before it can slash his friend down!
OOC That strength boost is making a massive boost. You don't actually need to crit blow or high roll to harm them and if you do it's all a bonus.
Crit Blow AV13 + 3D M Arts (2D Acro) + Roll(5d12)+0: 4,10,9,12,7,+0 Total:22 (35) vs
OV8 + Diff 3 + Crit Blow 4 + Roll(2d12)+0: 4,7,+0 Total:11 (26)
+4 (to 17) vs RV12 + Diff 3 - Crit Blow 6 (RV9)=8 RAPs. The Faceless is DOWN and OUT!
The hero more or less crashes through the gloopy form and lands in a crouch, his incredible fighting skills and agility making the superhuman fast Faceless seem glacial.
Moving to his friend and helping him up he sees Carter reform the clothes on his body to appear unwounded. He would soon recover in a matter of seconds though.
The pair moved through the warehouse (OOC Haunt heals up, on full body) with Steeplejack listening to his uncanny Danger Sense.
OOC Danger Sense 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 9,10,+0 Total:19 (29) vs
OV2 + Diff 3 + Roll(2d12)+0: 12,1,+0 Total:13 (18)
+5 (to 15) vs RV2 + Diff 3 (RV5)=10 RAPs
Steeplejack pauses and points out an office along the wall of the warehouse and knows that there is a Thin Man in there...
OOC Comprehend Languages 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 7,9,+0 Total:16 (26) vs
OV12 + Diff 3 + Roll(2d12)+0: 5,6,+0 Total:11 (26)
EV10 vs RV12 + Diff 3 (RV15)=Failed
An alien voice calls out and the door to the office opens. A Thin Man drags out a bound and gagged Sherlock Holmes... with a pistol levelled at his head! The Alien is speaking in his own tongue and Haunt cocks his head to one side to try and listen but can't quite catch the 'trigger' that allows him to converse in their tongue.
The meaning was clear though. Surrender or he would decorate the walls with Sherlock Holmes' head!
OOC You guys are thirty feet or so away but that's not a barrier of course. The question is... can you beat a finger on a trigger to save your friend?

Re: The NEW Vanguard TEAM UP! Haunt Issue #12 with special guest star Steeplejack!
"Distracting him for a second," the Haunt whispers to his friend. Then using his acting skill, he stumbles a bit towards the nearest wall, allowing the huge gash to show up on his body and one arm across his body as if he is trying to hold his guts in. He then leans against the wall weakly, glaring at their opponent.
From the shoulder that is against the wall, he attempts to stretch his arm down the wall and along the baseboard, hoping the gloom of the building will hide his stretching arm, using his chameleon skill to blend his arm into the color[s] of the baseboard. He stretches his arm past and then behind the alien.
actions: He is going to attempt to interspace his hand between the gun and Sherlock Holmes as a surprise block. Hopefully, Steeplejack can distract him a bit further to draw the eyes of the alien off of the Haunt and on to himself. So this is a double distract, first to Haunt slumping against the wall which should put the alien's eyes on him then Steeplejack bringing the alien's eyes to him somehow [talking to it and saying he didn't understand or shaking a fist or whatever he comes up with], to give the Haunt the chance to protect Holmes as Steeplejack attacks.

Steeplejack nodded and concentrated on the ground below, bringing up a wall of rock crashing through the office behind the thin man, and aiming to intersperse it above Sherlock's head.

Re: The NEW Vanguard TEAM UP! Haunt Issue #12 with special guest star Steeplejack!
Haunt stumbles against the wall with an 'open wound' and causes an arm to flow like a wire along the line of the wall and race around behind the unwitting alien with a miniature eye on the end (self manipulation remote sensing)
The eyeball on the stalk saw where it needed to be and transformed into a thin 'skin' over Holmes' face who to his credit didn't flinch!
The rock above the Thin Man's head caused it to glance up then THOOM! the gun went off!
OOC No chance of it hurting Haunt, even though it is Alien tech enhanced!

Well, he didn't need his rock manipulation powers to take down the likes of this thing, so he vented his anger by going at the surprised alien before he could take another shot at the heroes. No need to worry about Haunt, he was made of sterner stuff, not so this thing.
OOC: Going in Kung foo fighting, 3/2 just to be on the safe side.

Aura of Fear on Thin Man
[with the -3 three diff, may not work but haven't used it in awhile]
"Feel what I felt under you monsters," he yells, turning his hands into jackhammers while blasting out his aura.

Annoyed with himself, the burn out of his earth power must have thrown him off, but as he stepped aside to let his partner wade in. He got ready to give as good as he got when the opening came his way again. Meanwhile, he took a look left and right to make sure there were no others here and to see if he could spot which way Holmes had gone.

Re: The NEW Vanguard TEAM UP! Haunt Issue #12 with special guest star Steeplejack!
OOC Av13 + 3D M arts (2D acro) + Roll(5d12)+0: 11,11,2,6,2,+0 Total:22 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 1,4,+0 Total:27 (40) vs
OV12 + 5D Acro + Roll(7d12)+0: 10,5,11,2,6,12,3,+0 Total: 23 (No double???) (35)
+3 (to 16) vs RV6= 10 RAPs. The Thin Man is DOWN and OUT!
Moving as fast as a striking snake Steeplejack rams a fist through the Thin Mans face, spinning the fellow about and causing him to drop Holmes and that deadly weapon from nerveless fingers!
"Good timing you two!" said Holmes, not even ruffled in the slightest as he fished for a pocket knife and went into the office to untie Watson and Captain Savage who looked like he'd taken a beating and was unconscious.
"We knew something was amiss when the route was changed and sure enough, were joined by riders on the carriage who persuaded us to stay put." said Holmes.
"My gun didn't make a scratch! Point blank!" blustered Watson, checking Savage out. "He'll be alright. He decide to resist and one of the other chaps, not this... 'Thin Man'... gave him a boxing lesson. Brave chap, somewhat foolhardy."
Watson glanced at the downed aliens. "You two really ARE the real thing aren't you? We're lucky to have you about." he said as he retrieved his cast off revolver and looked at its barrel, bent back on itself like a U. "I'll miss this old girl. Served me well she has."
"No time to waste!" said Holmes. "The game is afoot, the enemy knows our pieces are on the board and they have made the first move, now we must make ours! We must travel incognito to the docks and set off with all speed, gentlemen. Is there anything in your amazing repertoire of abilities that can manage that?"

Re: The NEW Vanguard TEAM UP! Haunt Issue #12 with special guest star Steeplejack!
The Haunt does his thing, digging around inside these foes for the fragments of time stones, finds them, stretches his arm up in the air until they disappear and then adds the fragments to his collection.
"It's how they remain in this time period," he explains to the shaken Dr. Watson. "Get them far enough away and they go back to wherever they were originally."
He considers Holmes' words and then, "Well, there is a way but you may not like it too much."
He smiles at the men.
"I can "drape" myself over you three and disguise you as sailors who are taking their passed out drunk friend back to the ship. Or four of you, including Gibbs here. As long as you are in contact with each other, it should not be apparent that there is something between you. Smear some grease and dirt on your faces. Maybe make a patch over an eye out of your clothes and that should help disguise your faces. You're a master at disguise Mr. Holmes, so you know what needs to be done there. Shall we try that?"
ooc: If they are agreeable, we are combining stretching with Self Manipulation and Chameleon. So Haunt becomes their "clothes". We can either walk or grab a coach to get us to the ship.
ooc2: I'm really thinking of getting Growth as a power, just a few levels and I can then become a giant bird or dragon and carry passengers on my back.

Gibb made a face but otherwise shrugged his shoulders and added, "It would work, who'd suspect some drunk sailors making their way to the docks!"
OOC: Let's not think about this too much and otherwise go with the flow - if you'll pardon the expression.
BTW I didn't say this before Paul, but so glad nothing the worse happened to you after your near disaster. I can't believe that the guy was coming the other way like that. You kinda hope he gets picked up and his licence taken away. Anyway so glad you're none the worse for such an encounter.

OOC Who knows what was in the guys head. Crazy. I think the people behind me on the road must have had a shock too, hope nothing bad happened there!
The strange group made its swaying way back towards the docks, Haunt the custodian of more tiny fragments having sent the ADVENT enemies packing.
Along the way - every now and again - the pair would get the idea that someone was watching, or at least looking for them.
Advent it seemed valued Holmes and his knowledge and would not let him go easily! However the disguise seemed to work and before long the group theatrically stumbled and wobbled their way back before "Our cases!" exclaimed Watson. "All our clothes and equipment!"
Rashid stood at the gangplank of the ship observing the loading and turned to see the group. "Ah gentlemen! We have enough sailors, and no need for..."
Haunt let the disguise partially drop and Rashid gasped before welcoming the group on board where Dracula in a Cloak and hood and Dr Jekyll greeted them. Jekyll was nervous and sweating. Dracula scowled at the setting sun and sniffed. Raising an eyebrow he glanced at Gibb and Carter. "You are...resourceful gentlemen. Mr Holmes, Dr Watson. Captain Savage I presume... though he looks the worse for wear."
Rashid came on board "Preparations are almost ready. Is there anything else..?"
Watson spluttered "Our cases!" at looked imploringly at Haunt and Gibb

"Presumably they were with you at the warehouse, do we dare to return? What do you think Carter?"
OOC:I'm happy to return if Carter is.
