With that Lionheart shot down to the tent, slowing with his arms raised so those standing about didn't need to make sudden moves or open up a second front to this fight. "I'm Lionheart & Kosmic Fire, we are here with others inbound from the Ultra Humans to assist in the defence of the president."

He said this so that his intentions would not be misconstrued and then asked to be taken to whoever was in field command.

One of the armoured men (in bulky big black mechanised suit) mutters "Finally! We been getting our asses kicked here!"

An army officer came forward with a scanner and asked for the Ultrahumans DNA encoded ID badge which also served as communicator. Without the specific ID of the user matching the records shown on the database and the link to the Ultrahumans satellite there was no other way to verify (for sure) that the heroes were who they said they were.

Kosmic Fire comes up positive, and the looks from the GI's suggest she;s a fan favourite. The officer frowns when he scans Lionhearts. "I don't recognise the costume and the scanners drawing a blank." The armoured man springs to attention with readied weapons. Kosmic Fire holds her hands up "Relax guys, he's a newbie. Duplex hasn't gotten round to updating his status yet I'll bet. Duplex, Kosmic Fire, you receive?"

"Loud and clear." came the voice from the satellite. "We're drawing a blank on Lionheart's ID, Can you...?" she asks.

"Oh damn! I knew there was something! I think we have a hair sample we can through the machine." mutters the man who can make a dozen duplicates of himself. "My bad. We have the same with Miss Victory. Hold on. Darn, no sample there either. Sorry, we've had too much on. Put me on to the officer."

A press of the communicator put him on hands free speaker. "This is Duplex. Code Alpha X Ray Whisky Four Seven Niner authorisation code Omega. Clearance for Lionheart and Miss Victory please. We'll get the paperwork sorted out in the next day or so."

"I dunno, this is most irregular..." started the officer. "Sir, I would get the President on the line to vouch for them but She's kind of tied up, so I gather."

"Ah yes. In that case I'll take your word for it. This way please." said the Officer, leading to the command tent.

"Perhaps it's something I've done wrong?" muttered Man of Bronze as he soared the craft through the clouds.

"...was the greatest of Caesars, a man for all ages. Those that followed were dreadfully flawed in some way, be it with madness, ambition or lack of it, or too much compassion. When a leader must make the hard choices, there can be no room for doubt..." droned Imperious Rex.

Tiger Lilly had run out of paper and called out "Are we there yet?" to Man of Bronze.

Water Lilly looked over to Miss Victory. "Hi. You seem nice and I've heard the chatter about you in the mess hall. Some of the younger guys think you're hot and some of the ladies sounded jealous. What did you think about the Prison Break? I have a feeling it will damage our standing. The Ultrahumans never run from anything as far as I can tell. There may be trouble, or a split maybe."

Captain Star glanced over from where he was forming telekinetic energy into a suit. "A split? That would be foolish. The Ultrahumans are the greatest heroes on Earth! When Silver Sentinel gets back we'll soon round these people up."

Miss Victory glanced out of the window. She was no expert on geography but it seemed they were taking the long way round...

Kosmic Fire led the way into the tent where high ranking Army Officers were gathered.

"Sitrep is..." started the General in charge, Nathan Moore "Twenty five minutes ago a force of unknown superhumans overwhelmed the standing guard around the White House and forced their way in. We lost contact with the secret service and we were scrambled via helicopter and APC. We were fast, but not fast enough. We have more specialist units en route but despite the Billions we spend on defence we weren't able to stop this group. Suggestions are that it was a mixed group of men and women in orange prison garb and they went through the Armoured Division of the National Guard like it was made of paper."

Orange... Prisoners.

"There's something else. ALL of our bases on the eastern seaboard and central have received bomb threats. Every, single, one. Something is going on. This is too coordinated and we need to get in there and rescue the President then get her in the bunker, but I have a feeling the bunker is not going to slow these people down." said General Moore. "Armies we can fight. An army of very powerful superhumans? What the heck is going on? Where did they come from?"

It appeared the superhuman prison in the middle of the Mojave desert was above the General's pay grade...

ooc:  At the front desk now so I can't check my BOH2 rules but is Escape Velocity 12 or 14 APs?  I'm thinking 14.

OOC The Ultrahuman jet is pretty fast but maxes out at around 14APs, and that given straight and level flight. It's coming in at around 12APs then will speed up slightly before levelling and staying at around the speed of sound before slowing on the descent to Washington to make a Vertical landing. Lionheart and Kosmic fire have no such limits and can whizz down to city level before slowing, so they are on the scene first.

And hopefully they will convince someone in power not to shoot us down.  There is a No Fly zone over most of DC.  I forget if it was put up after 9/11 or had been in place for decades.  Planes have to take a very narrow landing and takeoff path from Reagan International Airport for that reason.  They didn't want plane parts or whole planes falling on Congress or the White House.

 

OOC Can't find the escape velocity AP requirement but it *might* be 15APs. In that case the jet would use a rocket booster which detaches to get up into space.

Captain Star frowns. "We don't need Silver Sentinel all the time! Why just last week I stopped a tidal wave in..."

Man of Bronze called out "QUIET!" and turned to Miss Victory. "You're right. I've followed the auto set course but it's wrong. Computron NEVER makes mistakes. This can't be right."

Miss Victory got a bad, cold feeling about this...

OOC pop pill? Allocate points?

"Switching to manual." said Man of Bronze (MOB). He frowned. "What the...? Non responsive. Where is it taking us?"

Tiger Lilly stepped up. "What's going on?"

MOB ignored him and checked the charts. "We're heading in the wrong direction. Controls not responding..." he flicked a switch. "MOB to Duplex. We have a problem. Auto pilot is non functional and manual override hasn't worked. What's going on Duplex? Who prepped this bird?"

Silence. "Duplex?"

Miss Victory explained further about the guy who could inhabit computers.

MOB frowned again. "Hold on." He fished in a stowage locker in the cockpit for charts, then looked at various options. "We're way off. I think.. that might be South America and ..."

Water Lilly spoke up as she looked through the cockpit window. "What's that? That smoke column?" she asked.

2-3) The trajectory is taking you straight towards the column of smoke rising in the air. A column that might be from a huge fire or... Volcano?
4-6) the Santa Maria Volcano in Guatemala is one of the most active in the world.. the the jet is heading right for it at Maximum speed!

Miss Victory gasped. MOB was still looking at charts, Captain Star had reformed his suit into pure armour (OOC Body 1 Skin Armour 19), the siblings were looking at each other and muttering in Japanese. Imperious Rex was quoting the works of Plutarch and the craft was shooting down... BOOOM! Even faster! The Escape velocity booster rocket had just fired!

The Ultrahumans were seconds from DOOM!!!!

The hero turned and looked at a junior officer coming into the tent. She was checking paperwork on a clipboard and suddenly frowned, feeling her collar.

"Am I boring you... Lionheart did you say your codename was?" asked the General.

Across the tent the aide gasped, scrabbling at her collar... then another place across the tent... someone else gasped and started stripping clothes off!

"What in the name of Sam Hill is going on?" asked the General as a third staff member stumbled into a table of maps and started clawing at their clothes...

Lionheart pulled up his forcefield, responding to the sense of danger...



The first staff member (the woman) exploded with a force that flung people like rag dolls before they burned into ash! Even with his super speed (not at its most powerful, using Force Field for defence) the blast is enveloping the tent and all in it - and that's not all. He hears other explosions outside of the tent, around the camp and the perimeter around the White House, all going off at the same time! He started to move... then the explosion hit him!

Yeah, pop pill and take the standard build except move the points from str to Jumping and then ... next issue I guess. Cliffhangers! Gotta love 'em!

OOC: I was going to reply here but I think its better if I see what happens at Episode 10 looks like me and Miss V are going separately anyway so good call. However Lionheart will react to try and use whatever time and skills he has available. I suspect with my coming we've been framed to make it look as if we are with the orange suited prisoners all along. Anyway, can't worry about that now. Will do what I can to pull the injured and wounded aside. Will make sure Kosmic Fire is ok and then we go in hard on the White House.

Gonna change power reserve for start of next issue when I pop the Vita Pill.

Set up will be:
Dex 15
Str  13
Body 13
Running 10
Jumping 10

Due to all the weird energy that hit her and the beatings and the pseudo-Vita Pills she took, it will affect her greatly over time. If radiation doesn't kill you, it obviously gives you superpowers. Spider-Man isn't the only one that happened to, so comic book science.

1. Going to buy Systemic Antidote, all the time with the +1 FC of Old Age Defense. That's 50 BC and 5 FC. Make it 2 Sys Anti for 150 HP.
2. Going to raise her normal Body from 6 to 7. 60 HP.
3. Going to buy Mind Blank 50 BC and FC 4, so 1 level in it for a total of 90. Also all the time not with Vita Pill.

Leaves me 15 HP to adventure with. If I did my math right.

Not a big change but having one more Body means one more point to spend in either Dex or Str. Also the beginnings of mental defenses. And what young beautiful woman can resist having an old age defense?

Dang! I could have flown the spaceship and didn't realize it!?!?!? Or at least had been the co-pilot

Just so I don't forget it, can we list in the limitation as "Power Reserve: Stats powered max out at Reserve level", so if ever I save up enough points to raise the power reserve to 24 or 25, I will remember that?

Other than that, I'm good to go.
