The group moves out of the library and up the corridor towards the Gun Room.

OOC AV7 + Roll(2d12)+0: 5,7,+0 Total:12 (19) vs
OV8 + Roll(2d12)+0: 12,6,+0 Total:18 (26) Failed

Boudicea turns "I don't sense anything dangerous in there. We should be fine."

And so it was she turned the handle for the door and came face to face with a tall, powerful looking man dressed in a costume suggesting that he worked for the enemy...

Professor Wynde issue #1 - The finer things in life cost! - Page 9 Ubermensch

The window to the Gun Room had been smashed and the tall man was searching the room, tipping chairs and trophies all over. It was clear he was looking for something, but when Boudicea opened the door, he found something else.

"Uh. Hello." said Boudicea.

OOC Annnnnndddd... Initiative...

Boudicea and Prof Wynde first, then Major Oak. Next is Snaga, Wonderman and Faerie flitting about in small size. Swashbuckler in rear.

Roll(8d12)+0:
4,1,2,6,7,3,5,10

Boudicea 21 (25)
Major Oak 20 (21)
Snaga 21 (23)
Wonderman 25 (31)
Prof Wynde 24 (31 Wonderman has higher Dex so goes first)
Faerie 22 (25)
Swashbuckler 19 (24)

Ubermensch 23 (33)

Ubermensch springs forward to deliver a solid punch to Boudicea's chin!!!

OOC Dex 9 + Roll(2d12)+0: 8,10,+0 Total:18 (27) vs
OV6 + 3D Acrobatics + Roll(5d12)+0: 3,8,12,9,5,+0 Total:21 (27)

Hit EV12 - RV 11 (force field)= 1 Damage. Boudicea is on Body 5/6

Boudicea shrugs off the blow. "Barely felt it you meathead!" she roars.

Wonderman calls out "Make room! Make ROOM!" as he tries and fails to get into the room past people (OOC delaying action)

Prof Wynde knew the others couldn't get into the room. They outnumbered this nazi but would have to make room for each other. Boudicea had barely felt that blow but the fellow looked like he could bend steel bars in his bare hands for a laugh.

OOC You're up. This guy is a proper slab of muscle.

Using his martial arts skills, Prof. Wynde tries to dive/tumble past Boudicia and her foe into the room to make more room for the others to get in and to help surround the man.

"It's Bald Nazi Stooge," he yells out as he moves. "Watch Out! His breath is as strong as his fists!"

ooc: If he can get a clear shot then he will use Magic Blast on the guy.

OOC No problem moving into the room - every round you can move up to your APs of movement, attempt one dice action and perform one non move non attack action. That's not bad in 4 seconds and makes Usain Bolt appear positively lethargic.

Prof Wynde moved to the side to let others into the room and let fly with a Magic Blast!

OOC Magic Blast 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 9,12,+0 Total:21 (31) vs
OV7 + Roll(2d12)+0: 12,4,+0 Total:16 (23)

+4 EV (to 14) vs RV8=6 RAPs damage. Ubermensch (for want of a better name) is on 2/8 Spirit and spends 10HP to absorb 4 points with last ditch defence. He is on 50HP and 6/8 Spirit.

With a grunt the Nazi staggers and narrows his eyes. "You... Lore Knights ... are perhaps not the neophytes I was lead to believe you were."

Wonderman leaps up and declares "We're not all Lore Knights Ratzi but we all fight for what's right and good in the world!"

OOC Dex 11 + 3D M Arts + Roll(5d12)+0: 7,10,5,5,12,+0 Total:10 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 9,12,+0 Total:31 (42) vs
OV9 + 1 HP die (Ubermensch on 44HP)+ Roll(3d12)+0: 5,8,2,+0 Total:13 (22)

+6 EV (to Str 13 so 19EV) vs RV11=8 Damage. Again 4HP is absorbed (Ubermensch on 34HP) so Ubermensch is on 7/11 Body

With a TERRIFIC punch Wonderman sends the Nazi crashing through the beautiful stained glass leaded pane windows that were clearly almost as old as the house. The villain tumbles into the garden and rises to his feet, shaking his head. "Gott in Himmel!" he exclaims.

Faerie flits about, reluctant to get into battle but eager to help any of the team should they need it.

Boudicea leaps into the gardens, spraying flowers everywhere including the Earls prize roses, and whips out her spear! "HAVE AT THEE!" she screams and thrusts it at the Villain!

OOC Adren Surge 13 + Roll(2d12)+0: 4,11,+0 Total:15 (28) vs
OV 6 + Multi 2 + Roll(2d12)+0: 10,8,+0 Total:18 (26)

+2 (to 15) vs RV6+2 (8)=7 RAPs. Superspeed and Claws are boosted to 13APs

Dex 13 going for a Crit Blow + 3D Weaponry + Roll(5d12)+0: 10,11,6,3,2,+0 Total:21 (34) vs
OV9 + 1D HP (Ubermench on 28HP)+Crit Blow 4 + Roll(3d12)+0: 12,9,12,+0 Total:24 DOUBLE (he needed that!) plus Roll(2d12)+0: 8,5,+0 Total:37 (50) Attack MISSED

The Nazi ducks the savage sweep of the spear and calls out "The day a woman beats me, I shall no longer declare myself UBERMENSCH, woman!"

"YOU ARROGANT FOOL!" called out a woman's voice from the rooftop. "Have you forgotten the power of GUNDRA, the Valkyrie?"

Professor Wynde issue #1 - The finer things in life cost! - Page 9 Gundra-e2

The woman leaps to land next to Boudicea and calls out "You who think yourself WORTHY to call yourself Valkyrie? I challenge thee! HAIIIIIIAHHHH!!!!"

OOC Gundra does take Boudicea somewhat by surprise!

Dex 10 + 4D Weaponry + Roll(6d12)+0: 6,10,2,4,6,2,+0 Total:12 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0:
9,7,+0 Total:28 (38) vs
OV13 + surprise -4 + Roll(2d12)+0: 6,8,+0 Total:14 (23)

+5 EV (to 14) vs RV11=3 Damage. Boudicea is on 2/6 Body

"Maybe you ARE worthy!" said Gundra, then she readies her lance "But I shall send your soul to valhalla where you may further test your mettle!"

"Crikey how many more are there?" asked Swashbuckler as he runs into the garden. "En garde!" he declares at the male Nazi!

OOC Adren Surge burned out so this won't be good.

Dex 6 + 5D Weaponry + Roll(7d12)+0: 1,3,5,3,10,12,3,+0 Total:22 (the double at 6 was borderline useful) (28) vs
Dex 9 + 1D HP (Ubermensch at 22HP)+Roll(3d12)+0: 9,3,10,+0 Total:19 (28)

EV9 vs RV11=No damage

The Nazi laughs at the sword as it bounces from his flesh! "This one is WEAK! I shall kick him like a football into ze sea!"

Snaga roars and charges into the garden. Ubermensch declares "FINALLY a warrior worthy of my power!" He seemed to have forgotten about the terrific right hook Wonderman landed...

OOC Adren Surge 14 + Roll(2d12)+0: 2,12,+0 Total:14 (28) vs
Claws 6 + Roll(2d12)+0: 4,8,+0 Total:12 (18)

+4 EV (to 18) vs RV6=12 RAPs boosting Snaga's Claws to 18!

Dex 9 + 4D Weaponry + Roll(6d12)+0: 7,12,8,8,4,7,+0 Total:16 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 9,3,+0 Total:28 (37) vs
Dex 9 + 1D HP (Ubermensch on 16HP) + Roll(3d12)+0: 12,8,12,+0 Total:24 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0:
7,5,+0 Total:36 (45) Attack MISSED!

With the Axe swinging by him Ubermensch calls out "BARON! CAPTAIN! ACHTUNG! SCHNELL!" as he realises the Axe could have scythed through even his near invulnerable skin.

Gundra laughs. "Not so arrogant now are you Ubermensch, you pig!"

Major Oak strides into the garden and grows to twelve feet high, his feet reaching into the soft soil under the grass. He blasts his hands at Gundra!

A hail of branches fly out in a torrent!

OOC Projectile Weapons 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 4,12,+0 Total:16 (26) vs
Dex 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 5,6,+0 Total:11 (21)

+3 EV (to 13) vs RV9=4 RAPs. Gundra absorbs all 4 damage (Gundra HP now 50)

Faerie, seeing the team are struggling against just two of the Nazis, decides to (reluctantly) join in the fight!

OOC Minor Hatred of fighting Roll(2d12)+0: 7,1,+0 Total:8 Overcome

Magic Blast 9 + Roll(2d12)+0: 5,5,+0 Total:10 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 1,11,+0 Total:22 (31) vs
OV7 + Roll(2d12)+0: 12,7,+0 Total:19 (26)

+3 EV (to 12) vs RV8=4 Spirit Damage putting Ubermensch on 7/11 Body 2/8 Spirit and 16HP

"Arrrrgggh! Magic! Die kleine Frau hat magische Kräfte! Töte sie! Jetzt!" he cries, clutching his head.

(OOC Translation "the small woman has magic powers! Kill her! Now!")

The combat is fast and furious, churning the Earls' beautiful lawns into mud! Clods of earth fly with every missed swing or blast and a statue is neatly decapitated by Snaga's missed swing!

OOC Keeping track...

Ubermensch on Body 7/11 Spirit 2/8 HP16
Boudicea on Body 2/6
Swashbuckler has Adrenaline Surge BURNED OUT
Gundra HP50

Initiative...

Professor Wynde issue #1 - The finer things in life cost! - Page 9 Battle-r2

Prof Wynde, Cap Nazi then Wonderman act then the others. You can see which way this battle might go unless some of the bad guys HP get exhausted! Yes, I'm aware that HP tip the balance towards the bad guys and you don't have any but depending on how you lead the Lore Knights will decide how well the battle goes. Prof Wynde has seen the battering Ubermensch has taken so it might be an idea to focus attacks... Believe it or not the Lore Knights are on a par with most of the bad guys and even better than some in many ways. Captain Nazi and Baron Blitzkrieg should not be taken lightly, however, and very soon they'll have soldiers on the scene but they don't sprint like Usain Bolt/fly whatever...

Can our heroes possibly endure???

You're up.

"Faerie, you and I on Ubermensch! He's probably a redhead and that's why he shaves his head so the Nazis can claim he is an actual Super Arryan," Prof. Wynde calls out while activating his Magic Shield. One of these guys might have magic so he wants to be prepared.

"Swashbuckler, stand fast! Use your vision and warn us of where the Baron or Captain comes from that they yelled for so we are not surprised."

"Boudicea leads against the Valkyrie! Major Oak, help her!"

"Snaga, hold with Swashbuckler and get ready to take on whoever shows up next!"

"Wonderman, defend Boudicea, she's the one most hurt among us!" [ooc: there is some kind of blocking to defend another character in the rules, right?] "I know you probably don't want to punch a woman so block her attacks and let the other two handle her. Major Oak is probably the only one among you men who might be willing to strike her."

ooc: I made a big assumption here that heroic men of the 1940s don't want to strike a woman. Maybe you want to give them that disad for a few more points. Only brutes and wife-beaters strike women. Which pretty much covers most Nazi villains. geek
So Major Oak being a 21st Cent teen being told all his life that women as just as good as men and don't need their protection or their old fashion mindset, might be willing to smash her. lol!

OOC you'd be right about the gentlemanly thing but I suspect that Gundra being able to punch a hole in a Panzer would soon change their mind.

Prof Wynde levels his hand at Ubermensch and lets rip!

OOC Magic Blast 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 8,1,+0 Total:9 (19) vs
OV7 + Roll(2d12)+0: 1,2,+0 Total:3 BOOM FAILED. OV zero.

+6 (to 16) vs RV8=8 damage. Whichever way Ubermensch tries to swing this, he's going down so no point absorbing any damage.

Ubermensch Body 7/11 Spirit 0/8 HP 16 IS DOWN AND OUT!

Lighting the Nazi up like a christmas tree, Prof Wynde sees him topple back like a felled tree on top of a bed of prize winning Geraniums.

Wonderman grins "Great going Prof! Now we just need to mop up the rest of them!"

OOC ok Block is a tricky thing. In order to interpose himself it's Wonderman's Dex 11 +3D Martial Arts + Roll(5d12)+0: 7,6,10,11,6,+0 Total:12 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 7,6,+0 Total:25 (36) vs
Energy Blast 18 + -4 OV Normal Human sized target + Roll(2d12)+0: 3,4,+0 Total:7 (21)
+5 EV (up to 16 Dex) vs RV18 -4 Normal Human Sized target (14)=2 RAPs. Block success. That means the attack takes place against Wonderman rather than Boudicea.

Professor Wynde issue #1 - The finer things in life cost! - Page 9 Cap-Nazi

There is a rush of air and a green garbed man with a flowing red cap flies over the house and lands in a crouch (creating another crater/mess on the well tended lawns) before rising and calling out "Will you prove worthy opponents? Let us see."

He moves towards Snaga and swings at the tall man!

OOC Buying 2D to hit (Cap Nazi HP 57)

Dex 12 + 2D + Roll(4d12)+0: 11,1,5,1,+0 Total:16 (28) vs
Snaga OV 9 + 3D Defence (leaving 1D attack) + Roll(5d12)+0: 8,11,2,9,1,+0 Total:20 (29) ATTACK MISSED

Deftly stepping underneath the wild swing by the newcomer Snaga laughs out loud. "Another fool come to test the quality of his dentists skill after I have knocked his teeth clean out!"

Another nazi flies over the house from another direction!

Professor Wynde issue #1 - The finer things in life cost! - Page 9 Baron-Blitz

Baron Blitzkrieg glances about then attacks Major Oak!

OOC Major Oak has increased Density and Growth so is -2 Dex and -3 total OV. His Str is 12 his Rv is 13

Baron Blitz power reserves to Str (18) and buys 2D (Baron Blitz HP 62)

KILLING COMBAT CRIT BLOW Dex 10 + 2D HP + Roll(4d12)+0: 12,3,7,4,+0 Total:19 (29) vs

+4 EV (to 22) vs RV 13 - 6 Crit Blow (7)=15 Damage. KILLING COMBAT MAJOR OAK IS ON -8 BODY AND IS KILLED OUTRIGHT!

With a huge SNAP! Major Oak explodes into thousands of fragments of wood!

The Lore Knights turn as one at the sound, shocked and appalled to see the fragments spread over the garden... and they turn back into human remains!

"Weak." said Baron Blitzkrieg. "FINISH THEM! ALL OF THEM!" he roars, triumphant!

"Nooooooooooo!!!!!" Screams the diminutive Faerie!

Gundra laughs "Bravo Baron! I shall kill this woman!"

She levels the lance at Boudicea at nigh on point blank range and all of a sudden... Prof Wynde recalls about the legends of the Valkyrie. That lance has the power of life and death! Wonderman LEAPS in front of Boudicea and takes the blast meant for her! He's seen Robbie killed and now his friend Wonderman was next!!!

OOC Let's See.

KILLING COMBAT CRIT BLOW

Energy Blast 18 + Roll(2d12)+0: 5,3,+0 Total:8 (26) vs
Dex 11 + 3D Acro + Crit Blow 4 + Roll(5d12)+0: 8,6,10,11,9,+0 Total:21 (36) Attack Missed

Wonderman - incredibly - leaps to push Boudicea aside and then arches his back as the blast misses him, punches through the wall of the house and leaves a hole several feet wide that allows someone to see through the entirety of the great old place!

Snaga is aghast at the mess all over the floor which had been the youngster and leaps with his axe at Baron Blitzkrieg!

OOC Adren Surge 14 GOING FOR BROKE +4/-6 + Roll(2d12)+0: 9,2,+0 Total:11 (25) vs
Claws 6 + GFB 4 + Roll(2d12)+0: 8,5,+0 Total:13 (23)

+2 EV (to 16) vs RV6 - 6=16RAPs. Claws is boosted to 22! Baron Blitz buys a HP die for defence (Baron Blitz HP 56)

Dex 10 + 1D HP + Roll(3d12)+0: 9,12,6,+0 Total: 21 (31) Attack Missed!

"Halfwit!" laughs the Baron. "I am the ultimate representation of Nazi Superiority!"

"Have a care Baron." says Captain Nazi "Lest we settle it once these striplings are downed!"

The Baron snorts with derision.

"You... Killed... ROBBIE!" screams Faerie and she blasts for all she's worth at Baron Blitzkrieg!

OOC Magic Blast 9 CRIT BLOW + Roll(2d12)+0: 6,4,+0 Total:10 (19) vs
OV8 + Crit Blow 4 + Roll(2d12)+0: 10,7,+0 Total:17 (29) Attack Missed!

"I shall crush you like a bug woman!" he laughs. That gets a rise out of Wonderman who snarls "You'll have to get through me first slimeball!"

"An American? Curious. Take the ragamuffin alive! We will question him before he dies!" suggests the Baron.

Boudicea hops to her feet. "I do NOT need someone to defend me!" she yells at Wonderman. She twirls her spear and changes target to leap at Baron Blitzkrieg!

OOC MULTI on TWO Adren Surge 13 + Roll(2d12)+0: 4,7,+0 Total:11 (24)vs
OV6 + 2 Multi + Roll(2d12)+0: 7,7,+0 Total:14 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 6,7,+0 Total:27 (35) Adren Surge failed!

Looking distinctly lethargic she swings her spear at Baron Blitzkrieg...

OOC Dex 6 + 3D Weaponry + Roll(5d12)+0: 2,7,8,9,5,+0 Total:17 (23) vs
OV10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 2,12,+0 Total:14 (24) Attack Missed

Casually, Baron Blitzkrieg steps aside. "You have spirit woman. Serve me and you shall live as my slave."

Swashbuckler leaps to help Boudicea "I think not Ratzi scum!" he laughs.

Prof Wynde turns. He sees a group of men spread out feet apart running towards the mansion down the hill of the Tor. They will be a short while before they arrive but they are armed with machine guns and there are eight of them.

OOC CRIT BLOW Dex 6 + 5D Weaponry + Roll(7d12)+0: 8,12,7,9,10,1,1,+0 Total:22 (28) vs
OV10 + Crit Blow 4 + Roll(2d12)+0: 12,7,+0 Total:19 (33) Attack Missed.

Crikey. The heroes have had an awful run of luck. Not disastrous but certainly lacking in doubles that the bad guys seemed to have edged (theirs has been better though not exceptional with barely any hits but good defence).

End of Round 2.

Ubermensch on Body 7/11 Spirit 0/8 HP16 KNOCKED OUT
Boudicea on Body 2/6
Swashbuckler has Adrenaline Surge BURNED OUT
Gundra HP50
Major Oak is DEAD
Baron Blitzkrieg HP 56
Captain Nazi HP57

Captain Nazi turns his attention to Wonderman. "You, fool! You dress in rags yet *are* more. You move like lightning!"

"But I am faster than Lightning." he hisses.

OOC ROUND 3.

CRIT BLOW Cap Nazi Dex 12 + 1D HP  (Cap Nazi HP51) + Roll(3d12)+0: 1,9,5,+0 Total:14 (26) vs

"Not so fast as that, Ratzi filth!" snarls Wonderman. "You and your cronies will pay for what you did to the boy!"

"I think not fool." said Gundra from behind him! Wonderman twisted, trying to avoid a fist! It seemed her lance needed to 'cool down' (indeed, it fires only once every five rounds so will fire again on round 7).

OOC CRIT BLOW on Wonderman Gundra Dex 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 5,12,+0 Total:17 (27) vs
OV11 + 1D Acro + Crit Blow 4 + Roll(2d12)+0: 11,2,+0 Total:13 (28) Attack Missed JUST

"Hey Prof! How about a hand here?" asks the under fire Wonderman!

+3 EV (to 23) vs RV10 - 6 Crit Blow (4)=19 RAPs damage. Baron Blitzkrieg is DOWN (Body 0, HP50)

"RAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!" screams Snaga as he holds his Axe aloft. It seems to be more like a hammer on one side. Had he scythed with the other end Baron Blitzkrieg might not have survived that blow!

Captain Nazi glances about. "Gundra! We are undone!" he calls out.

"Nonsense Captain! We can down these striplings! The Baron had it coming!" she replies.

Swashbuckler tries his best with his lessened power to attack Captain Nazi...

OOC Dex 6 + 5D Weaponry + Roll(7d12)+0: 9,1,3,3,8,12,4,+0 Total:6 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d12)+0: 9,4,+0 Total:19 (25) vs

"So be it." snarls Gundra.

OOC Prof Wynde is up then Boudicea...

"Dammit! He was only a kid," Prof Wynde yells out as he forms a tornado that covers the lower half of his body and takes to the air moving towards the armed men.

"OH ZEPHYR WINDS ON HIGH! BLOW MY ENEMIES FAR AND WIDE!"

Using Air Control to form a tornado to blow the armed men approaching far and wide, knocking them all back in different directions. They should be far enough away that the winds won't affect the combat in the garden. Using the second form of the power where they are taking knockback damage.

OOC Air Control against all eight oncoming enemies. They are 4APs distance away just off the top of the Celtic Burial Mound (where the staff of the Earls mansion were but have wisely vacated given the battle nearby at the mansion) so that will make it trickier, but you should be successful against most...

Six of the eight are lifted up into the air and fwooooshhhh!

They are flung not just over the Celtic Burial Mound but out towards the Sea! There was a 200' Cliff Edge and drop to the beach in that direction, but this was war and those men were warriors, prepared to kill as much as Baron Blitzkrieg had killed the boy.

Two of the eight kept running towards the Mansion and were soon out of sight as they ducked behind the walls of the grounds and made their way round to the entrance gate.

Boudicea sucked in a breath then charged at Gundra!

"Surrender, NAZI! Surrender or the woman dies!" she roared.

Captain Nazi looked about. The powerful Nazi snarled. "These weaklings are beneath me! Beneath my power!"

Faerie changed back into normal size, kneeling on the grass and tentatively feeling the blood on it. "Poor Robbie." she sobbed. Boudicea snarled "Should we kill them?" Her hands were trembling.

Swashbuckler mutters "It's not right. We are better than them. That is murder."

"You were useless!" screamed Boudicea. "The boy died and you? You did nothing!" Swashbuckler looked downcast and tossed his sword aside which vanished into mist as he walked through the hole in the wall of the mansion.

Prof Wynde looked in the direction of the departed Nazi then glanced back. There were two more Nazis - at least - in the house after the old Earl! There were also two Nazis somewhere outside the wall, heading to the gate...

"Faerie, can you heal Boudicea please," Prof Wynde calls out as he circles above the mansion looking for the final two soldiers that he missed.  He was totally surprised by how far he blew the other soldiers.  He wasn't sure how he felt about that but then again he had been a soldier before he became a magical hero and it was wartime, just not his war as it had already happened.  He shook his head and put it all behind him.  Those thoughts would be for afterwards when it was safe to unwind.

He still had a chance to get to Captain Nazi, he just might be able to fly faster than he did.  But he didn't have bullet-proof skin or a force field against non-magical attacks, one blow from the man and he would be dead.  And carrying someone else would slow him down.  And there were other things that had to be done.  Going after him would be something to do ... later.

Coming to a decision he snapped out orders.  "Wonderman, there are two soldiers still free and heading this way.  There are also two more in the mansion somewhere.  I want you to handle them."

"I will take the Lore Knights to the hidden lair and let them meet the Earl.  Gather up those Nazis and make sure that they are out, Snaga, and that they stay out but alive.  We will bring them with us.  There may be magical cells or something we can put them in."

"Faerie, let me take care of Major Oak, he is my responsibility.  Boudicea, you owe Swashbuckler an apology next time you see him.  He is right, we ARE better than them.  We try to avoid killing when we can and we don't revel in killing them when we have to kill.  And he didn't fail, his power failed him.  It happens to us all from time to time.  And even with his powers gone, he still tried to take on a super-powered foe.  That takes guts many don't have.  That's why the Land choose him."

He then hovers just above the garden and using Air Control creates breezes strong enough to gather up the wooden fragments that are the remains of Major Oak.  Landing, he considers what to do with the remains.  Maybe bury them in the garden?  Take them with him to the magic lair?  Keep them with him and if he returns to his present, give the remains to the boy's parents if he can find them?

For now, he removes his cape and unwinds his turban and uses them to hold the brave boy's remains and carries them inside to the gun room.

He looks around to see if Swashbuckler is there or nearby.  If he is, he will basically give him the same speech he gave Boudicea about what happened and try to buck him up.

If he isn't there or after speaking with him, assuming no more attacks or Nazis showing up, he goes to the two pistols, cocks them, fires them simultaneously and waits for the passage to open so that they can enter it.  Once in, making sure it closes behind them before proceeding further, carrying the boy's remains with him. He feels that the remains should at least visit the magic lair that the Lore Knights operate out of. Maybe there is a special crypt for their dead? The Earl would know.

Wonderman nods but looks disappointed at not giving chase to the bad guy. He sets off to look for the two nazis heading to the mansion.

Boudicea pulls a face but looks more frustrated and hisses "I know! I know. I'll... apologise. It wasn't right of me to say, and he did fight on despite his powers fizzling out."

Faerie declared "I shall heal you, but it will take time." She got to it.

Though the Lore Knights appeared to have won this battle, it had come at a cost.

Snaga snarled "I shall look for something to truss these villains with. A chain or ... thick ropes." though he sounded doubtful at being able to find either and also whether they would hold the bad guys for long.

Walking into the Gun Room via the hole Wonderman made with Ubermensch, Prof Wynde saw Swashbuckler stood with hands behind his back looking at the guns displayed on the walls. They were magnificent but mostly non functional it seemed. Prof Wynde gave his speech and Swashbuckler sighed. "We're new to this. We'll make mistakes. I just wish... I wish the boy hadn't been smashed to pieces by that foul Nazi." With a sigh he summoned the sword and said "There were two left to find in the house. I'll keep looking."

Triggering the secret door with a CLICK! Prof Wynde opened it and looked at stairs leading down. With the wooden remains of Major Oak (most of him had changed back to human and the fragments spread were too small and numerous to gather - the Nazi had struck with the power of a battleships main gun!) he ventured into the lower level of the mansion.

There were other ways down to the basement level and doubtless more rooms devoted to the servants but this was a secret passage probably known only to the Earl and his closest advisers.

The way was lit by torches, curious given they sprang into life as he walked towards them. The corridor turned right then left and shortly after ended in a stone door without a handle. Runes were carved into archway around it and Prof Wynde got the idea that if the door didn't want him to enter it would be very difficult indeed! However the stone door moved open without effort and opened up into what seemed to be a large room with ceiling held by stone pillars.

Torches guttered on the wall and Prof Wynde looked about. There were many stone tombs in here and the place was a long quite wide hallway. At the end of the hall was an oak table with a dozen chairs around it. Light glittered from eight swords laying across each chair with four devoid of weapons. Separate, an old man - in his eighties at least - sat in a carved stone chair covered in runes. He spoke and though his voice was distant it carried and prof Wynde heard it just fine.

"Well met and enter, Oliver Smith. Professor Wynde, whatever name you prefer to go by." said the old man. He was dressed in fine clothes and a huge weapon - a morningstar - was leaning against the stone chair he sat in. He saw Prof Wynde glance at it as he approached and chuckled. "I thought to lure the Nazis here, to draw them away from my people but they were too stupid to find this place. My next plan was to summon the armour, lift that weapon and smite them hip and thigh but I can barely move. My body has finally failed me."

He sighed. "Put the remains of young Mister Johnsons body on that chair there, with the sword." he pointed. "Valiant but not strong enough to stop the evil arrayed against him. It happens sometimes. There were supposed to be six but my son and heir has been killed. Assassinated presumably by Nazis. I have no idea how they know about him but that leaves HIS son, Thomas, as the Earl when I am gone. He is serving in the army and I have... the Land has... summoned him. He will be the Earl, the Ghost Knight. The Morningstar. Do you have questions? There are still evil men abroad about my lands. I would be grateful if you deal with them and I will make my peace with the remains of the young man that you have brought to me."

"I would very much like the new Lore Knights to come down here and speak with you," Prof Wynde replies. "I will stick with Prof. Wynde please. I hope one day to have a wife and kids and not having everyone in existence knowing who I am might help keep them safe."

He places the remains on the throne. "He came from the future with me. I thought I would keep him safe and get him home. Then the Land chose him and he fought well but ... I have no idea how to explain this to his parents. I'm not even sure where to find them. I suppose his friends could tell me and the university admin people as well. Of course, that assumes I make it back to my time and don't spend my life in the past."

"Let me bring them down here. You can tell them who and what they are and what their mission is, what their history is. Wonderman and I will handle the mop up upstairs. Afterwards, we can talk."

ooc: Unless I'm wrong, the 4 remaining Nazis are pretty much non-powered or low powered so WM and PW should be able to handle that. If the Earl is agreeable, then he will go back upstairs and call everyone down here.

The Earl corrects Prof Wynde by asking for the remains to be placed on a specific chair. He says his piece and turns to leave, then notices something...

The chair with the remains on is lit like a beacon and its hard to look at! The Earl's throne is glowing too and the old man looks even older as he concentrates all the power of the land into his task.

He explains even as Prof Wynde gapes and he doesn't need to magic sense to know a massive magical force is in effect here!

"When I tied the Lore Knights to the land, they formed a bond which requires them to protect it. The land in turn protects them as well as it can. Here at the seat of my power, the Lore Knights are at their strongest because the ley lines coalesce into a 'pool' of untapped magic deep in the ground beneath us. I can tap into a hint of it, direct it, shape, it... Robbie Johnson HAS died, I cannot bring him back... but he is recently dead and you have done the right thing by bringing his remains here. I can take that... a rag, a bone, a hank of hair... and I can pour magic into them... The boy is dead but the spirit remains, and so..."

A skeleton formed in the chair, though it seemed beautifully carved and polished of finest oak, an amazing work of art in itself! Green lines sprouted from it, saplings and vines, then in the wooden ribcage a pulsing green heart like a seed... inside the skull another green organ, a brain, and dark green muscles formed, a nervous system, then skin formed of green plantlike flesh!

In a moment the remains had been transformed into a new version of Major Oak!

Professor Wynde issue #1 - The finer things in life cost! - Page 9 Major-Oak-newest-look

The Earl tottered from his chair, assisted by an arm from Prof Wynde, and moved to the plant golem. "Spirit of the Lore Knight MAJOR OAK! Hear me! See the bond this man your friend Professor Wynde has brought to me and answer the call! The LORE KNIGHTS and the LAND OF BRITAIN STILL NEED YOU! LIVE! LIVE! LIIIIIIIVVVVVEEEEEE!" and he slapped a hand on the green forehead! There was a flash of light and the eyes glowed bright green... then a gasp of air!

Unlike his last treelike form this was more human. Major Oak stood then wobbled on unsteady legs. "I... I died! How can I be alive?" sap tears rolled down his face and he looked joyful but then uncertain. "This body doesn't work like my old one... I can barely move..."

"That... will... pass... " said the exhausted Earl. "You will regain full control ... of your new form..."

"Does this mean I cannot be killed? That I am immortal?" asked Robbie.

"No! No. Because your friend here brought your recently dead remains to me here at CaerAlwyn, the seat of the Lore Knights power I was able to grow a new form from them and send a call out to your spirit. You heard that call and formed a bond with your new form though it is tenuous! I have... sacrificed ... much to... enable this. My life is... almost ended..." said the old Earl and he slumped into a chair. He looked at Prof Wynde. "Bring the others." He waved away the concern. "I'll not die yet... but soon. My time is nearly over."

=========

Prof Wynde arrived back in the gun room and heard... the sound of gunfire!

Swashbuckler was rummaging through draws and looked to see Prof Wynde. "Turns out not all of those guys you blew off the cliff croaked!" he shouted over the din. Prof Wynde glanced through the hole in the wall to see the Nazi agents shooting from behind the cover of the Manor wall at the gate.

Wonderman was taking cover behind a statue which looked to have been blasted by a cannon!

"Those bullets are capable of punching through armour, stone... even superhard skin! Where did the Nazis get this stuff?" he shouted as a bullet punched a hole through the wall and the wall behind. Soon the old house would look like gorgonzola cheese!

Then Prof Wynde risked another look and saw why even Wonderman was taking cover - one of the Nazis wore an armoured suit as before... but this thing was like a giant! It went up... and up... and up! It towered over the mansion and took aim at any Lore Knight it spotted scuttling around! There were craters in the grounds and the place looked like it had been bombed!

Swashbuckler looked frustrated. "A gun room and there are no bullets! Not that they'd do much against that thing! Those Nazis are running about like there's something... off about them too."

"off like... super..." he admitted. "This is a battle we can't win! They have us pinned down, but I'll be damned before I surrender!" he said, summoning his sword which looked deeply unimpressive compared to the metal giant that blasted time after time at the Lore Knights running for cover in the garden!

"Where are the others?"

Once he gets that reply.

"Go down the hidden stairs, Swashbuckler. The Earl needs you. Maybe he can help you get your powers back," Prof. Wynde orders.

If the others are within the sound of his voice, he tells them the same thing, to get down the stairs and aid the Earl.

"Wonderman and I got this!"

He gives Wonderman a thumbs up as he ducks the next round of shots.

Once everyone clears out, he summons his magic shield, totally ineffective against bullets but everyone needs a luck charm now and then. He then blasts off into the air and then....

ooc: Okay, not sure if the rules allow it but this is what I want to try. If it won't work, give me some other ideas please. There is a reason he is called Prof. Wynde and not Prof. Magic Blast. Laughing

Using Air Control while some distance in the air - while trying not to take minuses for range for his AOE attack, he summons a tornado large enough to cover the grounds where the various foes are at - which is why he wanted everyone else out of the way, he engulfs all the Nazis in it and sucks them into the air, making sure to pull the bottom of the tornado up from the ground after he does so, so as to not damage the village any further. He then carries them in the tornado to the ocean, going out some distance, 1/2 mile or so out, and drops them into the ocean from the height. Maybe he will spot the sub too out that far. Or maybe not. Falling damage/Knockback ought to take care of a lot of them. Drowning because of heavy armor might take care of some more. If the sub is around, maybe they can make it to it or get rescued by it or not. He has other things to worry about. Like going back and helping out with the Nazis that did manage to avoid being sucked up in his whirlwind.

I'm pretty sure the Iron Cross Giant is too heavy to be lifted but Hey! maybe he will take some damage from this. Think Positive. sunny

Even if Wonderman can't damage/smash Iron Cross Giant, he ought to be able to keep it busy, dashing around it or climbing up on it looking for a door in, while Prof. Wynde does this.

OOC What's left of the mansion grounds are churned up craters and bullets zinging everywhere as the two nazis at the gate fire with weapons decidedly NOT of this era.

Snaga, Boudicea and Faerie are pinned down with the unconscious trio of Nazi supers taking cover behind a low wall.

The giant robot thing is stood just inside the wall and is blasting away at the mansion which is missing most of its top floor and much of the middle one. Fires are springing up everywhere.

Two more Nazi agents (the ones you were chasing about who were looking for the way downstairs) have been tossing grenades at Swashbuckler from the garage area next to the great house. The fires that have sprung up threaten to engulf this wing of the house and that includes the stairs that lead down to the basement level where the old Earl is!

Wonderman is moving from crater to crater on the full defensive. He got blasted by one of the robot style guns earlier and it one shotted him. He figures to get close enough to give the robot a pounding but it's so big chances are he won't make a dent!

Prof Wynde can target:

The two Nazis at the gate who are blasting with futuristic guns that turn rock into dust...

The giant robot nazi iron giant thing that is pounding the mansion into rubble

The two Nazi agents who are grenade tossing into the family wing that houses the gun room. If that is destroyed you may lose your chance to get downstairs.

If the three guarding the Nazis are to carry them and not get shot up they could do with some cover to get down the stairs. Swashbuckler has limited chance to survive if a grenade hits him.

If that robot thing packs as much punch as what hit Wonderman earlier, he won't last long!

Prof Wynde has a STRONG gut feeling that getting the Lore Knights downstairs to the dying Earl is the very best option. The magic the Earl is using seems off the scale to Prof Wynde and he may have something planned.

If you target more than one group with your Air Control the range penalties will make stuff much harder for you.

Let's try the vacuum power on these fire areas, assuming I don't get Swashbuckler caught up in it. And if the agents get caught in it too, that's a bonus.

If I can't do that, then I will try using wind blast against Iron Cross Giant.

OOC Creating a vacuum is tricky! The OV/RV is the volume you wish to expel of air. We'll start with the fire close to the Gun Room which would be (I guess) about 60' cubed which is 6APs + 4 for difficulty...

Air Control 10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 4,1,+0 Total:5 (15) vs
Ov10 + Roll(2d12)+0: 4,8,+0 Total:12 (22) Attempt failed!

The fire was too fierce and Swashbuckler shielded his face.

Prof Wynde himself had to duck as he became a target and the weapons the nazis were using pretty much ignored cover, punching neat clean holes through it! Coupled with the grenades that seemed endless the rookie hero was really under fire!

When an explosion ripped through the room he was tossed through the air and crashed to the floor. Prof Wynde flew over and ducked as he came under fire!

Lifting Swashbuckler up he was gratified when Marcus spoke "I'm... I'm alright. Is this what war is like?" he looked shellshocked.

Prof Wynde looked out of the holes in the walls and saw Wonderman sprint, zig zagging across the lawn which was torn up by thousands of rounds of ammunition and it was getting closer! He reached where the other Lore Knights were, scooped up the unconscious Ubermennsch and tossed him like a rag doll towards the giant robot!

Instantly the giant stopped firing as the Nazi bounced off the metal hide and it concentrated on scooping up the unconscious villain. "Run! GO!" shouted Wonderman as he scooped Gundra up, winced and tossed her at the pair of agents with machine guns at the entrance to the estate! They stopped firing to go retrieve her. Finally he ran with Baron Blitzkrieg towards the gun room and shouted "Let's get the heck outta here!" before throwing the Barons body up tin the air. Prof Wynde took the hint and blew it at the pair of agents tossing grenades from behind the cover of a car.

As well as the Baron being blown at them, their own grenades stalled and dropped to the floor! There was a tremendous explosion but Prof Wynde was directing the Lore Knights down the steps into the basement.

The last to come was Wonderman. He was wearing rags and had been struck several times. "That won't hold them for long!" he gasped. "The Lore Knights were shell shocked. Major Oak dying then the bullets and bombs... it's their first time in a war zone I'm betting! They'll be better next time - if they survive!"

The Robot started blasting at the mansion again...

=========

With the CRUMP! CRUMPPPP!!! BUMP! BUMMMMPPPP!!! of repeated explosions ringing out above them Prof Wynde led the shellshocked Lore Knights through the corridors.

Even Snaga and Boudicea, keen to head into battle seemed in a daze. Faerie grew to normal size and stumbled about, tears running down her face. Swashbuckler limped and Prof Wynde noticed his side drenched in blood.

Finally they got to the room with the old Earl in, and the others gasped.

"Is that...?"

"Major Oak?"

"ROBBIE?"

The Lore Knights clustered around the recently resurrected teenage hero and only took notice of the old man in the throne when he bellowed "ENOUGH! LORE KNIGHTS! FIND YOUR CHAIRS AND BE SEATED...."

They turned to look at him, Snaga was about to argue...

"NOW!!!" he bellowed. So they hopped to it and sat!

As soon as they did all of them slumped in the chairs, unconscious! The Earl started to glow!

"What the heck is going on?" asked Wonderman, about to head forwards until Prof Wynde laid a hand on his arm.

"Powers of Evil, Powers of Darkness, Heed my call! I am the Lord of CaerAlwyn, the Ghost Knight, the Morningstar, and I BANISH you from my lands with all the power at MY command! Now, BEGONE!" shouted the Earl.

He glowed brighter and brighter until it was too hard to look at him! The Thumping and booming above abruptly ended and the light flooded the cave... then winked out! The torches flickered then re-lit and Prof Wynde looked with sadness at the still form of the Earl on the throne. he was dead, there was no doubt about that.

Suddenly the room started to get cold and the Lore Knights started to wake, looking around fearfully.

Ghosts of previous Lore Knights from all manner of ages wearing old attire appeared and moved to the body of the Earl. They lifted it gently, then started to carry it towards a stone tomb. The lid floated off and the Earls body, held aloft by Ghosts, gently floated into it before it was sealed with the lid.

"What now?" asked Wonderman. Suddenly everyone turned and the figure of a powerful man in his forties, a giant bear of a man in glittering plate armour, sat on the Earls throne. "Now Fred Carson, Wonderman? I would ask of you and Professor Wynde a boon, a great favour. Lead and instruct my Lore Knights until the Ghost Knight arrives. Defend the land and fight for the forces of good. Be the heroes you were destined to be and you will be rewarded with a way home." he said, with a look towards Prof Wynde. The Ghost Earl glanced at Wonderman. "I suspect you are already where you wish to be."Wonderman grinned and shrugged "I'm more or less in my own time. As for here or America..." he glanced at Faerie who smiled shyly "Well right here and now there's nowhere I'd rather be. But I'm not a leader. Only one man can lead the Lore Knights, for now at least."

The Ghost Earl and the Lore Knights stood and looked to Prof Wynde. The Lore Knights each raised a sword and pointed in the direction of Prof Wynde.

"What say you?" asks the Ghost Earl.

"While I know a bit of war, having been a soldier serving in the Middle East, I'm not barely much more experienced as Wonderman as a superhero. Though my knowledge of the future and of the myriad of superheroes and villains will be of help. What I guess I am saying is that I'm no battlefield general or highly skilled veteran, but compared to everyone else here ... I'm the best you have. So I'm in."

"And Wonderman, we need to get you a better costume."

He goes over and picks up his cape that he was using to hold the remains of Robbie, and places it back around his shoulders. He then picks up the cloth he used for a turban and winds it around his head while watching the others to see what their reaction to this disclosure would be.

Professor Wynde issue #1 - The finer things in life cost! - Page 9 Empty Re: Professor Wynde issue #1 - The finer things in life cost!

The Ghost Earl Nodded. "So be it. Obey this man's commands as you would my own until my Grandson, the NEW Earl and the newest Ghost Knight, returns from the battlefields of France."

"I expect the 'British Expeditionary Force' to be triumphant and the war to be over in a short time." said the Ghost Earl. "The Nazis lack the moral character and strength of determination for a prolonged fight and are attacking on too many fronts. However it has been demonstrated they can and will strike on our Home Front and so I have banished them temporarily from our land and coastal waters. The ones attacking the manor will find themselves back in Berlin without explanation and any others in the country will be struck by a sudden desire to get on a boat and sail back to Germany, though if it takes more than 12 hours they will resist the compulsion."

Snaga frowned then asked "Forgive me Lord Earl for speaking out of turn but... the Nazis smashed your home and were in the process of defeating us until Wonderman and Professor Wynde led us down here. Now you have resurrected the lad and things seem better, but you yourself have died! The Mansion is in ruins, the ground a churned up mess, your servants scattered and the population of CaerAlwyn probably frightened out of their wits. This place will be overrun with... with reporters and Police in no time!"

The Ghost Earl gave a wry smile. "You have little faith Owain Thomas, Snaga, but that seems a fair assessment... from the outside. This land is magical. The house, the grounds, the burial mound, the village itself, all part of the magic. My servants died decades ago but were rewarded with continued life for their service though they are tied to Wales. The House even now, as well as the grounds, is repairing itself and within the hour not a trace of damage shall remain!"

There were a few gasps.

"There is an invisible dome, a... bubble over the place. The people of CaerAlwyn see what I want them to see, for their own protection. Far better to have this place as a target than taking the villagers hostage! However, that raises a new question. I thought this place, the seat of the Lore Knights, to be a secret but clearly the Nazis know. That they were banished after you beat them will send a message but not all of them are so easily undone. They will be back, and we should be ready."

"In the meantime ..." he frowned. Then he looked at Professor Wynde. "The future is unclear, like mist, and ever changing. I see... NO! NOOOO!" he roared, and the Lore Knights at the table were taken aback! "The 'British Expeditionary Force' will fail! In the coming weeks (OOC This is the day after N Chamberlain resigned and W Churchill took office) Belgium will capitulate... My grandson... My ... the Earl your new leader, will NOT survive the evacuation at Dunkirk!"

"Where the heck is Dunkirk?" asked Swashbuckler. "Never heard of the place. France somewhere?" He was hushed by Boudicea who glanced at Prof Wynde.

The Ghost Earl sighed. "The twelve hour compulsion to expel the Nazis will have to be lifted. I must use and direct my powers to finding my grandson and protecting him, for powers greater than Nazi bullets seek him now. Mighty powers, Magical even." he said with a glance at Prof Wynde.

"I ... hesitate to ask this of you Professor Wynde, but ... would you lead the Lore Knights in a mission to rescue my son before the Nazis catch and kill him? He knows nothing of the fact he is targeted. I known not how they even know of him, or knew to assassinate my son his father. You have time yet but there is something else. The Lore Knights are tied to this land. The further away they venture the weaker they become. You and Wonderman alone will be able to venture for long beyond our shores. All others must wait for your signal then make haste across the channel. I fear... I fear a great disaster will soon befall us."

"I'm not waiting here like some... like some farmer, tending sheep!" roared Snaga.

The Ghost Earl gave him a withering stare and Snaga glowered but sat down. "You will protect the land and its people. The Nazis have been delayed but they know of this place and will target it again. They know of your power and will come in greater force. Are you ready for that?"

Snaga bowed his head. He knew the Lore Knights first outing had been of mixed success.

The Ghost Earl stood. "I have spoken. There is another power, a darker and more insidious one even than the Nazis, behind the attacks and they are legion. They will not stop until the war is won for the Axis powers, THEN they will make their move. Until then you will be arrayed against weapons and agents the like the world has not yet seen! Prevail! Stand strong! Beware! I am dead. I used the last of my power to expel the Nazis after raising young Mr Johnson from the dead. It killed me, but I had hung onto life for too long. You MUST get the Earl back to CaerAlwyn where he can claim his birthright or all is lost!"

The Lore Knights stood perfectly in time, raising swords to the air and shouted "YOUR WILL BE DONE, GHOST KNIGHT!" and the Ghost Earl nodded, looked at Prof Wynde, then vanished!

END OF ISSUE #1

OOC I'll cook up some HP awards for you. It was a long issue so there will be a bonus. I hope you like the way the game altered course. prof Wynde isn't particularly powerful in a world full of Miss Victorys, Haunts, Frostbites and Lionhearts (among others) but here in World War II he can make a much bigger difference as we rewrite a history that ADVENT are seeking to change, where the AXIS powers win and subjugate the world! Should have an award in a short time ready and will try to start up Issue #2 today or tomorrow at the latest.

ooc:  Gah!  He disappeared too soon!  Need to know his son's name, unit, rank, what he looks like, etc.  Though I guess I can get that information from the servants.

Also will need to organize a rescue flotilla to head for Dunkirk, though that can be done next issue.  Every fishing boat for miles around to be sent to Dunkirk to help with the evacuation.  The Greatest Retreat in human history!!

And if he keeps in WW2 for the next few adventures, then maybe he will run into Steeplejack and the Haunt. That ought to be fun. I love you

OOC Run into Steeplejack and Haunt? It's a distinct possibility but I hope to have their hands full with the bad guys (and some good!) of the Victoria era (give or take an era or two).

Hero Point award is 240HP for Prof Wynde and Wonderman. The others weren't in the adventure long enough to earn anything but did participate so I will grant each a standard award (for this Adventure) of 48HP which should help keep them alive a bit longer.

in terms of Improvement Prof Wynde has a number of options.

Dex 7 to Dex 9 costs 70 to 8 then 105 to 9
INt 5 increases for 70/point to 8
Aura costs 255HP for a single point because of the linked powers...
Str and Body are 60HP a point up to 8 and may be worth it

Prof Wynde is sorely lacking Acrobatics! Acrobatics would have a base cost of 75 then 70 per point. Maybe one for next time but adding an extra die to avoiding blows could be crucial (or garbage given how the rolls have gone, admittedly).

For Wonderman I am open to suggestions. Dex, Str, Skin Armour, Regeneration... any thoughts?

For Wonderman I would raise his skin armor 2-5 points and maybe his Body by 2.  Maybe throw in Iron Nerves.  Maybe raise up his skills a point or two.  Maybe Regen a point or two.  Maybe get low level of Systemic Antidote.

Eventually, he should get up to be a Captain Marvel/Shazam level hero - maybe by the end of WW2.    Arrow
I'm looking at the 3rd edition Captain Marvel on page 161 of that book as to who he might look like after a lot of adventuring.

For Prof. Wynde - I think I want Scholar: Antiques, Leadership, Sharp Eye and Low Level Connection with OOP.  Later on, I will get low level connection with the Lore Knights but not right now.

Also Force Shield that is mystic linked, so I would have Aura instead of Str as its link stat.  Not very high level Force Shield at first.  I want to be able to combine it with Magic Shield.  Not sure if that would be considered an Advan or Disad that the two have to be activated together and cannot be activated separately.

I really want to try and keep at least 100-130HP out of the 240HP so I can one day be able to purchase Sorcery.  So I want to spend no more than 110-140HP for the above advantages and power for the above items.

4-7 adventures of this caliber and I could have enough to learn sorcery, assuming I don't burn through them during the next adventure.  He goes through some sort of mystical rebirth or regrowth or gets pulled back to OOP for advance training and ditches his Air Control and his other powers and reconfigure for Sorcery.  That's the long range plan anyways.  He is after all, currently, a low level magic hero who was allowed to go out and superhero by OOP, knowing that his powers would increase over time and experience.  clown

So jiggle those numbers and let me know what you think.   I love you

OOC Wonderman gets...

Body +1 (90HP) to 12
Skin Armour +1 (50HP) to 3
Regeneration +1 (80HP) to 4

That leaves 20HP remaining.

Prof Wynde... Oh boy. When we create a character using a multiplier of 450HP (in Haunts case 3.5x) all of the drawbacks get the multiplier and so do the new advantages. That means...

Leadership 25 x 3.5 x5 (new advant)= 438HP
Scholar 10 x 3.5 x 5 (new advant)= 175HP
Sharp Eye 15 x 3.5 x 5 (new advant)= 263HP
Low Level connection 10 x 3.5 x 5 (new advant)= 175HP

Just been reading up on the latest rules set (Blood of Heroes) and there is a slight change. Mystic Link makes the power a) Magical in nature and b) the link attribute now changes to the mystical equivalent, whereas before it was everything linked to Aura and that was that.

That means Air Control for Prof Wynde is linked to Influence (also 10). Not a great change but it will make things slightly cheaper if you boost Infl by +1 and Air Control +1 instead of doing Aura + Magic Blast + Magic Shield + Air Control which will cost a pile.

That means to boost Infl +1 (And Air Control +1) costs 210HP
To boost Aura + 1 (And Magic Blast/Magic Shield +1) costs 150HP

Sorcery? You'd have to save the universe every adventure for oooohhhh, twenty+ years of continuous play I should think. 750 Base cost TIMES TEN for a new power=7500HP. Then its factor cost 10 costing 100HP per AP up to 8 then 150 from 9 to 15.

Cheaper to buy an artefact methinks, albeit one that can get nicked from you to make it cheaper. Staggering.

I'll update Mr Carson. When you've had a think I'll update Prof Wynde and we can crack on with issue #2...In Prof Wynde Continuity, but it's #1 in Prof Wynde and the Lore Knights!

well ... poo!   Sad

No sorcery for me ... double poo!  Sad Crying or Very sad

Wonder if the DC game ever did the stats for Ibis and his Ibisstick?

OhHO!  Writeups.org did one:

Powers and Abilities

To use the Ibistick, its wielder must tell it what to do. It will then interpret those commands however it desires, like a slightly less whimsical version of Johnny Thunder’s Thunderbolt.

For example, during the Earth-1/Earth-2/Earth-S cross-over, Ibis told the Ibistick to turn Brainiac’s weapon against him. The Ibistick turned Brainiac’s ray weapon into a metallic octopus that attacked Brainiac.

The Ibistick is powerless against magic. To combat magical creatures, Ibis had the Ibistick create a sword and shield for him, as the Ibistick could not simply blast the monsters to dust. Likewise, a demon enchanted a cave’s walls and ceiling; this would have trapped Ibis, except that the floor was not enchanted, allowing him to tunnel out through the floor.

Other stick quirks

The Ibistick will do no harm to its master (Ibis). For example, when Ibis thought Taia dead, he commanded the Ibistick to strike him dead, but it would not. Likewise, in the hands of an enemy who seeks to do harm to Ibis, it will turn against the enemy, doing to the enemy whatever the enemy wanted done to Ibis.

For example, a Chinese soldier wanted to use the Ibistick to turn Ibis into a scarecrow, so the soldier was turned into a scarecrow. Likewise, Mr. Atom tried to use the Ibistick to hurl Ibis into space, so Mr. Atom was hurled out into space.

However, the Ibistick will work for anyone who holds it. A Chinese soldier was able to use it for good, though when he said, “I wish it [the Ibistick] was in the possession of one who understood it better,” it appeared in the hands of one of Ibis’ enemies. Likewise, Taia was able to use the Ibistick in another story.

Here is a partial list of the feats which the Ibistick performed in Ibis #1:

It completed the building of a pyramid.
It created a sword and shield.
It put Ibis to sleep for 4000 years.
It awakened Taia when she was supposed to wake up anyway.
It gave a view of a distant battle.
It transported Taia and Ibis to this distant battle (where Churchill, Hitler, and Stalin were teaming up!).
It informed a Chinese soldier of what it was.
It informed the European forces of a surprise attack.
It caused Ibis’ chains to fall off.
It transformed a soldier into a scarecrow.
It caused an army of tanks to vanish into thin air.
It caused an army’s weapons to be powerless (guns wouldn’t fire).
It transported an army of soldiers back to their homes.
It caused the world to be as if a certain person had never been born (!).
It created a horsewhip and a lasso out of thin air.
It transported a pearl necklace to a hotel room.
It sensed intelligent life on a mountain and transported that intelligent life down in front of Ibis. This may contradict the “doesn’t work on magic” limitation since this was a magical entity that he summoned. On the other hand, the entity may have wanted to come, and sensing the Ibistick, may have used its own powers to appear.
It created a sword out of thin air.
It dug through the ground (even creating a stairway) all the way through a mountain, caused an inactive volcano to become active again.
It caused Ibis to grow wings.

Equipment:
Ibistick [BODY 12 INT 02 WIL 02 SPI 15, Sorcery: 25, Awareness: 18, Limitations: Sorcery cannot directly affect anything magical (this Limitation vanished after Crisis), Bonus : if someone commands the Ibistick to do harm to Ibis, the Ibistick will instead cause that harm to affect the commander ; the Ibistick will often sense danger and warn of it.].

That's probably still 70 bajillion pts to make. but if you ever have copious freetime and want to cost it out, let me know if it is feasible to have something similar.

let's do this:

To boost Aura + 1 (And Magic Blast/Magic Shield +1) costs 150HP

That gives me 90HP to spend. Can we raise martial arts a point or two with that? If not, I'm sure I can spend it later in game. pale

If It can be taken away in combat that makes it 1/4 cost so yeah, still 20 bajilliontrillionzillion points I should think.

I ran it through the gadget maker program.

Doable but you'd need a 25AP lab to make it. OOP might have one or not. A bad guy is more likely. That's Dr Fate or Spectre level artefact stuff though in DC Terms. I wouldn't have thought Dr Strange would even be that powerful in Marvel terms.
