OOC Miss V has Dex 10, mental and mystical stats the same along with Body but 2 Str. All powers are at Zero and she has Power Reserve 10 remaining. She can boost whatever she has but thinking about this, would Power Drain below zero with regards using her Power Reserve? Power Drain is supposed to stop the use of the power and at zero it is 'turned off' until the time passes where her powers return. Some of the powers would be at -5, some at -12 but for now she's scuppered. I think... with regards Power Drain it should turn the powers off until she can get back to 1AP then she can boost with Power Reserve again. Strength she can boost (because it is reduced to ordinary human levels) but that's all the abilities she can call on. Did you spend the HP to reduce the time to 9APs (half an hour) or leave it at 13APs (8 hours)...?
OOC: Lionheart is going to have to wait this out, for now. I've not got many options, unless somehow I can find a way to get everyone outside, back inside.

MISS VICTORY HP 2
Having bought some time with the downing of the missile, Miss Victory turned to the black suited operatives. "I need to get to Ultrahuman HQ and I need a lift. Like, now." she said.
There was a pause then the Captain spoke into a throat mike and turned, making a spinning motion with her hand. One of the helicopter gunships started into life and the rotors started to spin. "You secure this place Johnson. Oh, and be polite in future to someone your bullets bounce off. I'll speak to you later." she said, with a determined look.
She and Miss Victory bundled aboard the copter and it took off straight away, flanked by another and the pair of them shot off low across the fields.
It felt to Miss V like they were going backwards! With her powers dampened she was incredibly agile, smart and pretty tough but she wasn't... Miss Victory. 'on my way' she thought in her head.
LIONHEART
'on my way' he received and nodded to himself. Best bet was to lie low. Stay hidden or keep moving, or a combination of the two, until his fellow Ultrahuman powerhouse was outside and ready to make a move!
=========
MISS VICTORY
Sipping from the bottle of water she'd been handed, Miss V looked out of the window. It had taken an age to get here but they were closing in. Unfortunately they couldn't drop her at Ultra HQ in case the air to air missiles were active. That meant a hummvee ride to...
She looked at her hand. Her fingers tingled and the bottle of water crinkled as strength poured back into her fingers!
She;d have to take another tablet - the last one had worn off, but the pins and needles over her body and the fact that her normal level of low superhuman strength had returned... Maybe time to try it out!
"What are you doing?" shouted the Captain over the roar of the blades as Miss V opened the side door. "Stay back from Ultra HQ unless you want shooting out of the sky!" replied Miss Victory, shouting. "But..." spluttered the Captain, but Miss Victory had gone!
She landed in a crouch on a flat rooftop and grinned, seeing the pair of helicopters peel off and turn back the way they'd come, then she popped a pill. Vita energy coursed through her body and she was ... VICTORIOUS again!
She looked at the sprawling compound that marked Ultrahumans HQ more than a mile distant. Zooming in with her eyes she saw massed supers outside, obeying the orders of the rogue Ultra Atomic Champion no doubt! Then she took off towards the place, moving faster than the eye could follow!
OOC Thought I'd zip things along to get you back on the same page!

OOC: Ideal, love a good 'Meanwhile...' anyway Lionheart will continue as he can, if there is a way to open up things from within he'll look into that option as somehow I need to get Miss V in, as well as the other supers, to overrun this place and help me take down AC and his cronies.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
Miss Victory zooms over to the group of Ultrahumans gathered outside the base.
"Who's the senior member in charge," she shouts out to the bunch. "I'm Miss Victory for those of you who don't know me yet. I need to know who is in charge because I have some vital information to pass along from Lionheart!"
ooc: I sort of glanced through but didn't read in depth Lionheart's portion of this while we were split up. So if I got it right, Atomic Champion is the traitor of the Ultrahumans. Voluntary or involuntary traitor? He tricked everyone outside so the missile she managed to stop could take away all their powers and then kill them all, correct? What else would she know from the download into her mind that Lionheart gave her?

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
OOC That's about all the information so far that Lionheart passed along. Atomic Champion is in this up to his neck. The plan was to set up an emergency situation, kick all the gathered heroes (from dozens of different groups not just the Ultrahumans) outside and time it so the missile would depower them and most likely kill those gathered outside, leaving those inside shielded by the Ultrahumans HQ which is pretty much blast proof.
Not thief proof though when the most agile, capable thief in the world can bypass security to get inside (that be Lionheart. He makes Mister Miracle look like an apprentice locksmith.)
MISS VICTORY
"There are a few of us but we're mostly scattered" said Man of Bronze.
Miss Victory turned. One of the heroes she'd worked with to battle Omega Man marched through the myriad coloured people gathered outside. Most were on phones, trying to figure out what was going on elsewhere and probably eager to get back to their home towns or cities to help quash the rising tide of crime and take down the orange suited super criminals who were enjoying their time free of the supermax jail.
"How long are we supposed to wait around here?" called a woman with a bird motif on her chest.
"Yeah." said a black guy who looked like he'd stepped out of a disco. "Bad stuff goin' down. Wi'out me and ma bros to sort it, all our hard work stoppin dealers will be undone. We can't hang around here forever while they sort out a ... whatever emergency it was supposed to be."
Man of Bronze looked Miss Victory up and down. "You look like you've been having fun." he said, remarking on her muddy appearance. "It's no bed of roses here either. As the Ultrahumans we're supposed to set the tone, lead, guide these guys... but no one is telling us anything! You're one of the 'core' now I see. Didn't take you long to reach those exalted heights but I have to admit, I've seen you in action so..." he looked like he'd swallowed a house brick but added "Congratulations. So, 'Core' member. What's going on and when can we get to work?"

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
"Okay, everyone listen up and don't interrupt with questions until I am done," she says in a loud commanding voice. "So gather round!"
She waits for everyone to gather up to hear her.
"You were all meant to die and the Atomic Champion is the traitor who helped plan it!"
ooc: Yay Charisma!
She gives them a moment to take that bit of information in then waves her arms in a patting down/settle down motion.
"I don't have all the information yet but Lionheart and I were sent to stop TWO missiles. The ONE I stopped was heading here. Directly here, not just this general vicinity! Here! It had the ability to rob us of our powers and then detonate a nuclear explosion! You were sent outside to die in that explosion since if you were in the base you would have been relatively safe from its power sapping abilities and the nuclear explosion!"
"Lionheart is inside our base as we speak, trying to stop Atomic Champion and his super-villain revenge squad. There are other folks in there, support staff and such who are not part of the plot and they are being held captive or being hunted down. We need to get inside! Rescue everyone we can! Take down Atomic Champion and the super-villains with him! I need everyone to help out!"
"Questions?"
ooc: Sort of play this fast and loose below since I have no idea all the questions that would pepper here. But the ones I can think of are:
1. How do you know all this?
"Lionheart sent me a short telepathic message with that information. I think that man has command of over two dozen different powers and Telepathy seems to be one of them."
2. How do you know the missile was meant for us?
"We tracked the missiles via Ultrahuman tech and mine was directly heading here. I lost a lot of my powers when I got too close to it but regained them a short time ago. Also a bunch of super-villains were running interference to protect the missile. They are still on the loose, by the way. Stopping the missile was more important than beating the stuffing out of them!"
3. How do we get in?
"Not sure. We can try our Ultrahuman access cards but I imagine Atomic Champion and his "friends" have cut us out of the security system. We can try hacking our way in if some of you are among the top most hackers in the world. Or we can try smashing our way in. The doors are meant to survive an atomic blast, so I would be hard pressed to smash them open by myself. If any of the rest of you have any appreciable super-strength, and I am talking at least being able to lift 50 tons, we can try smashing our way in together. If any of you have powers greater than an atomic bomb, then you can try blasting our way in."
Give them a few more minutes for questions but when they become repetitive or are ones she can't answer, she will then organize everyone to see who can do what to get us inside the Ultrahuman base.
She waits for everyone to gather up to hear her.

OOC: I can continue to keep up with events outside with Miss V by letting her stay in Telepathic contact with me. That being said, I will see if there is some way for me to bypass security and get a door or more doors or all doors open in some shape or form. I've not got a good idea of the layout, so if I can do that remotely without having to fight AC then all good and well. So looking for a way to break the deadlock at the moment and get that outside in, and those inside out. Sounds like a super heroic version of the Okey Koky

<snip>
OOC Excellent post. I think you just about covered the majority of the main questions a crowd of superheroes might ask. I expect it looks like a cosplay convention except with really buff people instead of the usual Comic Book Guy types in straining Batman/Superman costumes.
The crowd tries to be disciplined and ordered - they WERE superheroes after all, but a huge mix of experienced and novice, young, medium and old.
Most of them got it though, and those that didn't soon got word as respective team leaders briefed their people in huddles.
Lionheart (inside) heard Miss Victory's commanding speech and hoped soon that it would be the gathered heroes against Atomic Champion and his supervillain comrades.
How to get them in though?
Miss Victory strode through the crowds and towards one of the solid looking walls of the Ultrahumans compound. She placed a hand on it.
"Promethium/Adamantium compound, powered and enhanced by a force field that 'fills in the gaps' that ordinary molecules have. Possibly the most.. sorry.. .probably, now that the Supermax has been breached. It is the most secure building the world has ever seen." said a voice from the crowd. A costumed man, in dark purple and gold with a head band holding his shoulder length hair back, strode up. "I am Doctor Maximus, at your service madam. My ... 'power' is to seek out and find answers for the 'Impossible'. Like how to get in here."
He smiled and looked at the building. "Even if you were to drop the highest yield nuclear weapon on this place I believe you'd have a crater with this - the core of this building at least - intact and probably in need of a hose down but otherwise intact. An alien genius called Wandafar had a hand in it. I've tried to work out his inventions and his logic. Quite impossible. What he does makes no sense in science. I do love a challenge though."
Another man with a torn t shirt and thick chains crossing his shoulder to waist in an 'X' with massive straining muscles steps up. "Still wafflin' huh Doc? Step aside an' let a REAL man talk ta tha lady."
"Ahem. Miss Victory. My ... 'team mate'. Anchor Man." said Doctor Maximus, somewhat embarrassed. "His solution to any problem is to hit, break or ram it. With his head usually."
Anchor Man snarled. "Yeah, yeah, big shot. What you gonna do to this place? Talk it ta death? Ain't a barrier made that can withstand MY power!"
OOC It seems Miss Victory has a choice - brains or brawn to get into this place.
=========
Lionheart knew help was at hand - but how to get them in here?
He could get to a door and try to 'break out' as such. Chances were that Atomic Champion and his cronies would be watching... and waiting. Lionheart was fast but Atomic Champion was another of the Ultrahuman 'Core'. The best of the best, most powerful superheroes on the planet. Nobody really knew who was 'top gun' of course but Silver Sentinel was a good bet for the good guys, Nexus for the bad, but there were so many heavy hitters out there... City Killers, continent crushers, mountain mashers... There was very little in the human dictionary to describe what these people could do to the planet.
Lionheart was one of them. He;d come a long, long way from being to heft a ton or two and read local criminals minds.
Those were the little leagues. This? This was off the chart.
Dare he break cover and try to help Miss Victory break into this place?
Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
Miss Victory
"Let's see if brain can get us in first and then resort to brawn if it fails but only if brain can get us in within 10 minutes," Miss Victory replies.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
Doctor Maximus smiled and patted the much larger Anchor Man on the shoulder - who scowled at his team mate.
"Let's see now." he said, chin in hand.
Anchor Man rolled his eyes and came alongside Miss Victory. She was a tall lady (OOC I presume?) but this guy was in the high six foot range and she barely came up to his shoulder!
"This is going to take a while." he grumbled. "Problem is, I think he's right. I saw the specs of this place before we answered the call to get here for the Ultras ta tell us where ta go an what ta do. It's only 'anchored' to the ground by the gizmos they use. Self powered, it could fly forever more or less an' it's force field enhanced Promethium/Adamantium alloy is a sonnuva bitch ta get through. I may be big n dumb most o th' time but when it comes ta figuring out how ta break stuff I can't make a dent in, I tend ta take more notice."
"Your buddy in there musta got in somehow. Why dontcha ask him? Can you do the..." he wiggled his fingers on his hand "Mind ta mind thing?"
Miss Victory considered his words then looked out into the crowd. There were over One Hundred superheroes here. Dozens had left when the the Ultra's ordered the evacuation and weren't sticking around whilst their home city/town was under siege from rampaging bad guys and anarchy on the streets. Still, there were more than enough left to - hopefully - take down Atomic Champion and whoever else was in this place...

Lionheart needed a way to get the force field down, or the place untethered from the ground, or something else that could destabilise it. If it was knocked over, though intact, it would cause great confusion from the disorientation that, this would cause. Of course, it could be righted but not straight away. Then there was just opening the doors, if only he could get to the power. The control room was where things were done, but the power would be elsewhere, and the link between the two was the weak point - potentially. If he could either get to the power itself, and break-in, or else follow the main power and break that...
AC couldn't position people at every point, or Lionheart would have seen them. So it was a matter of thinking where best to strike, where best to find a weak point or the weakest point, which would probably be accounted for, but even so...
OOC: Since this is so devilishly clever I need to think at genius level, so will swap out points to consider my best strategy for doing so, either locating the power box or and some of the junctions off it. If I can attack them, or even a part not so well guarded, maybe I can distract AC or at least his people long enough to come up with a better plan.

"You know, I don't think he told me how he got inside, so let's see if I can contact him and find out what he suggests," Misa Victory replies to Anchor Man. she then mentally attempts to contact the great hero and see if he can provide some ideas on how to get in.
- not sure how having lots of folks with strength add to doing damage in our game. Does it only count the strongest person? Is there some sort of team attack roll? Whatever it is.
ooc: Never really considered her height. So I just looked up some stats.
What Is The Average Height Of American Women? [By World Atlas]
Rank Period Height (Feet.Inches) Height (Centimeters)
1 1999-2000 5.31 162.1
2 2001-2002 5.31 162.2
3 2003-2004 5.32 162.3
4 2005-2006 5.31 162.1
5 2007-2008 5.32 162.2
6 2009-2010 5.31 161.9
7 2011-2012 5.31 162
8 2013-2014 5.3 161.6
How Tall Are U.S. Women?
The average height for women in the U.S. hasn’t changed much over the past 20 years. As of 2016, the average American woman was about 5 feet 3 inches (63.6 inches) tall.
Average heights of U.S. women vary some by race or ethnicity:
White non-Hispanic: 5 feet 4.3 inches
African American: 5 feet 4 inches
Hispanic American: 5 feet 1.7 inches
Asian American: 5 feet 1.5 inches
Heights Around the World
Globally, trends in height over the past 100 years suggest social and environmental changes over time. For example, height increases might reflect changes in diet and less illness. Women in South Korea have seen the most gains in height, growing by an average of almost eight inches. Women in the Polynesian island nation of Tuvalu, on the other hand, grew the least -- less than an inch.
The shortest and tallest women in the world differ in height by about eight inches. On average, women in Guatemala are the shortest at just under 4 feet 10 inches. Latvian women are the tallest at around 5 feet 6.5 inches.
Here’s a look at some other countries around the world:
Country Average Height for Women
Netherlands 5 ft. 5.5 in. (168.7 cm)
Barbados 5 ft. 4.2 in (165.5 cm)
United States 5 ft. 3 in. (161.5 cm)
China 5 ft. 2.4 in. (159.8 cm)
Iran 5 ft. 2.3 in. (159.7 cm)
Nigeria 5 ft. 1.3 in. (156.4 cm)
Guatemala 4 ft. 8.8 in. (149 cm)
Height also varies by region. European and Central Asian (think, Iran and Uzbekistan) women are among the tallest in the world. Women from South Asian countries, including Nepal and Bangladesh, are among the shortest.
So let's call her 5'5" in normal form and 5'7" in her Vita Powered form. Two inches shouldn't change the fit of her costume too much and if it is made out of unstable molecules, it grow and shrink to fit her. Got to remember to buy some of that material from Reed Richards when I get the chance.
I guess we should put that down on her character sheet next time she gets HP to spend.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
OOC Hope you had a happy xmas chaps! I did try and post but every time was called/dragged away so gave up in the end. Even now I've had an iffy nights sleep so I've been up for an hour so grabbing this opportunity.
As far as height goes I suppose the average might not have changed in a short time (20 years) but I'd have thought it was higher than 5'3" I don't suppose I'd notice really as by default I would go for someone within a foot or so of my own height, just personal preference. The ex wife (well, still married but separated) is 5'6, the ex Girlfriend 5'9 and current GF 5'11.
I just figured Miss V would be 'runway model' material albeit with more meat/muscle on her bones so that would generally put her around 5'10+ but she's your character and I'm happy to go with whatever you decide
In terms of adding strength the game works by adding values, not APs. As each AP doubles over the last one (so 3APs is 201-400lb, 4 APs is 401-800lb) we can see that four people with Strength 2 (100-200lbs) don't make Strength 8 (which is 3-6 tons) but the max value of the weight they can lift is 800lb (or between 400lb and 800lb at any rate) which means Str 4.
In practise you take the highest Strength of those combining their efforts and add +1AP. If Miss V combined with Superman (Str 25 or between 400k and 800k tons) you'd use Str 25 +1AP (to 26) because the amount Miss V can lift (100k to 200k tons) pushes Superman somewhere into the next Strength bracket (800k - 1.6million tons) rather than her Str (23) + Supermans (25) which is 48 (6400 TRILLION tons). For reference Mount Everest is estimated to be 350 trillion tons or more.
Boggling numbers and I'll sort the crunch out so we don't get too bogged down!
Back to the game!
Lionheart frowned. His speed was so far preventing anyone from pinning down his location.
In the blink of an eye he could be somewhere else even in this vast complex. He'd seen small armies of villainous supers prowling about as well as those clunky robot 'brute' squads that would normally stay in a closet in day to day running of this place. Atomic Champion had clearly activated some kind of protocol and listed Lionheart as an enemy!
Switching his internal psychic energy into the boosting of his intelligence far beyond even the highest genius level, he set his mind to work...

1) Lionhearts' speed is key. By moving faster than the security sensors can follow and being guided by his danger sense he can avoid the 'hot spots' in the place where his presence could be tracked down.
2-3) By moving even faster, then allowing himself to be seen/detected and waiting (for him an eternity) several seconds whilst the villains are alerted and the robots directed to his new location Lionheart can then zip to another place and do the same again. Effectively drag the bad guys around like headless chickens as they race from one spot to another and hope to catch him when he's already moved three or four times (or more) in the time they take to get there!
4-6) The problem is that the systems to this place can be accessed mostly through the remote Ultrahumans 'core' base which is a teleport away to a hidden location. The teleporter will be off limits/heavily guarded and possibly booby trapped (teleport into solid rock/centre of the earth/bottom of the ocean/sun etc) and therefore is a bad idea. That means jury rigging and hotwiring the security systems to the doors/power supply to the walls which will take time and mean that Lionheart will be tracked down by the bad guys. He can try to break through the doors/walls (unlikely even for him), hotwire the security (which is how he got in and risky but maybe his best bet) or possibly try something like a Mind Probe of a prominent bad guy to find out the security access code to open the doors to this place. Only Atomic Champion and his closest allies in this place would know those codes. Apply them, and one or more doors could be opened and the good guys could flood in.
No easy answers then. This place was designed to be a fortress. hard to get in or out when the security was locked down. At some point the bad guys would start shutting off section by section and eventually pin Lionheart down. They'd tried that but no matter how fast the doors came down the British Speedster was faster and they'd end up frustrated as they opened the doors again to let their bad guys chase about, Benny Hill style...
The only options that seemed available to Lionheart were:
Beat up all the bad guys in this place. Despite how fast he was that was a poor option and would end up badly when he came up against mystics/powerful mentalists/bruisers who could take his punches.
Jury Rig/Hotwire the door controls to the outside. He'd got in that way. He could - hopefully - get out the same way but the chances were this would be much harder now. Wandafar and similar otherworldly smart types had helped design this place. Lionheart was a world class Thief/Escape artist but he could only operate as fast as the computers would let him, which to him was sloth like. Would he have enough time to crap the system to get a door open before the bad guys got to him?
Find/Mind Probe someone important enough who knew or had access to the long string of numbers and symbols/characters that would be a universal override to the place. No one Ultrahuman would normally have this information, but there were some really smart bad guys in this place and chances were they were either in the process of cracking it or had cracked it already. A 'back door' giving them complete control if someone was compromised. Maybe Silver Sentinel knew it, as leader of the team, but he was currently trapped/recovering inside the heart of the sun!
Of course he could try something else. The walls/floor to this place were Adamantium/Promethium. Normally unbreakable metals. They were enhanced by using large amounts of energy to stiffen/reinforce them with a force field. The power from that had to come from somewhere. Probably - using the knowledge he had of this place - in the middle and lower down from where he was. Taking out the fusion reactor would mean dealing with 'only' Promethium/Adamantium walls and doors rather than 'reinforced and able to shrug off a nuke' level durability.
OOC in game terms Promethium is Body 25, Adamantium 24 and the two combined 26APs. An alloy reinforced with a force field is in the high 30s possibly 40 + APs. Battlebug could make a dent (a large one) when he goes for broke. Gives some idea of how powerful the kid is and why the UKChampions consider him a weapon/something to manipulate. Lionheart couldn't make a dent unless he had some kind of out of this world luck. Ditch the force field though... He could punch through Promethium I reckon (26APs with the Adamantium alloy mixed in).
Heh. Lionheart could ask Frostbite his advice. Frostbot would have a chance at beating the AI which runs this place but Battlebug could put a hole in the walls without much effort. With 23APs range he could 'talk' to Frostbite without an issue.

OOC: I've had the most amazing Christmas in years. I'm glad your's has gone well too, Paul and likewise I hope yours went well, Dave. Amazing really given that less than two months ago when I was due a week off I got Covid and so did Heather (my fiance) and then my mum died...so it has been a tough end to the year, but otherwise its been an amazing year - so super grateful for the way He's worked it out in the end ;-).
In terms of options, I'll hold off on the talking to Frostbite option, not because it isn't good, but because I want to see what we can do first with throwing a spanner in the works of changing the reinforced walls. I think the idea of mind-probing is great, however, it would mean finding a high enough level bad guy with potentially formidable resources to fight back. So for now I will go with leading everyone about so that I can position them in such a way that I can get to the areas where the reinforcement generators are and basically stop them. Then consider talking to Frostbite and finding out, if Wandafar has any ideas, as he set this place up. For the purposes of this, I think it would be better if you NPC Frostbite, as whatever I'd know I'd know as my character not a player anyway if you are ok with that?

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
OOC in case you miss the OOC chat thread I wish you guys and yours the best of New Years and for 2022 to be better for all of us! Up and down like a yoyo for me all year and I'm hoping my life doesn't revolve around the house as it has this year to free up time to do the things I'd like to do (including play/GM this game!)
Lionheart continued to move at speed through the vast complex, appearing on several levels (up and down) and hanging about in front of the cameras for just long enough to show up in a dozen different places for the supervillains manning the cameras!
One of them tossed his head set to the desk in disgust. "Speedsters!" he roared, standing up and looking at the cameras switch to wherever they detected the Ultrahuman. "He's ****ing with us, mark my words!"
Some of those gathered feared no one and had abilities that could give anyone serious trouble. The trouble with speedsters was that if they were fast enough they could appear invisible AND as if they were in several places at once AND act/react faster than most peoples' minds - superhuman or otherwise - could think!
Having given something for the bad guys to consider Lionheart paused for a few seconds - an eternity to him - and reached out with his mind to his closest friend in this reality. Any reality probably.
'Frostbite?' he pulsed.
'It's Lionheart. I need help!'

OOC NPC'ing Frostbite for this part... BLUE for Frostbite GREEN for Lionheart...
Battlebug crouched, tensed, and was about to launch at the four UKChampions until he felt a cold hand on his shoulder...
The youngster glanced at his friend and mentor then nodded, but was ready to 'launch' at a moment's notice!
'Lionheart? How can I know it's you? It could be...'
'Your real name is Joe and I'm Richard. We've battled through thick and thin and we both arrived on this world from a mirror version of Earth. I'm in the Ultrahumans and you're the leader of... you ARE... the Vanguard. We've both come a long way my friend, and we've got further to go if I can get out of the scrape I'm in!'
A pause then...
'Who shares your... body. Your consciousness?'
'Saladin'
'It's you. I can't chit chat or catch up right now but I could use YOUR help in beating an alternate reality version of myself ... and you! Right now the UKChampions have me in their sights! How can I help?'
'Wow! I... uh... I'm a virtual prisoner inside the Ultrahumans base which has been taken over by Atomic Champion and his new Supervillain buddies. It seems he was in on the plan to free the bad guys and get Silver Sentinel out of the way! I need the doors opening to this place in order to let an army of good guys in to reclaim it! Wandafar had a hand in it's creation but that artificially alive friend of yours Frostbot could probably get in with a touch of your finger!'
'Love to help friend but we're up to our eyes here! Wandafar might be a better bet! Listen, I have a situation here bud, keep me updated and if we can drag ourselves out of this scrape we might find the time to cross the pond and get over to help you. Till then, watch yourself!'
Disappointing but not unexpected that Frostbite was dealing with various disasters! He sent out a pulse to Wandafar...

OOC You have a way to disable the force field but must smash through 26APs Body of doors/walls which, as mentioned, is enough to slow down but not stop a 40 megaton nuclear blast...

Lionheart didn't like the sound of the trouble that Frostbite and the others were in. But if he couldn't sort out this mess here it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference if Nexus and his plans didn't get stopped by him and the Ultrahumans. Putting the disturbing thoughts aside, he messaged Miss Victory through his mental abilities. He outlined his plan
1. Get the heaviest hitters to the best entrance, have the others mill at different points to throw off Atomic Champion from guessing their plan and marshalling his forces to that point of ingress.
2. He would give them the go when assembled to strike at once, meanwhile, he would go confront Atomic Champion since it stood the best chance of drawing the attention of the cronies in here if he went for the head of the dog doing all the barking.
3. Finally he flashed into Miss V's mind the layout of the base so that she knew where he was and where the potential choke points were. He also revealed where the Titans were recovering since they'd need additional medical assistance. He finally explained about the base defences, so that she knew what to face.
4. When the shields were down they'd have to break through within 30 seconds or the chance was lost. Once they'd gain entry, all the others should converge on that point and get in before the counter defences stop them from gaining further access. Any mages should use magic to run interference, any tecs to do the same with the systems esp the robots and anyone else lookout for super villain defenders.
Finally, he wished Miss V and her team good luck.
OOC: OK didn't want to dialogue all that I simply don't have time, let alone inclination. But the point about me tackling AC comes the moment I've got the shield down. I know it might be very dangerous, but I figure if I don't create a big enough distraction by going for the boss, Miss V and her team won't get to knock a whole through a wall let alone get further than the doorbell if I don't throw a curve ball into the mix.
So I am going to talk to AC and see if I can follow up on his idea of giving in and joining the winning side. I figure I can't take him alone, but I might buy us time if I look like I can see which side is going to win and since I once was a cop, in the future, being on the side who makes the laws is where a cop like me would want to be, type of thing.
So Message Miss V, she assembles her big hitters and the others at other points, I give the signal when the code is input for them to try and break through, whilst I go talk to AC to see if I can distract him and his cronies long enough for Miss V and the others to get in and hopefully gain back control. I'll be using my Telepathy to link everyone necessary to keep it all coordinated for as long as I can before I need to break off if attacked or whatever.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
Miss Victory, after receiving the message, turns to Anchor Man.
"Listen up just the reply from Lionheart. He's going to bring down the force field but we will have to smash our way in during the short time it's down. So find me anyone who can lift at least 100,000 tons. I'll need them to help me smash through the armor of the main entrance."
"Doctor Maximus, gather up everyone else. I want teams at all the secondary entrances trying to get in when the force field goes down. They are the distraction to spread out the supervillains inside. Lionheart tells me the Titans are inside hiding and in need of medical aid, so we need a medical team of heroes for them."
"The rest of the heavy hitters will go through the main doors with me once we smash through."
"Questions?"
ooc: Answer any questions she can, give the whole gist of what Lionheart has told her to the team that assembles at the main door. I'm guessing Miss V is the strongest one outside, so she is going to go for a devastating attack on the doors once the force field is down. Devastating is strong than Critical, right? The strongest blow I can use is the one I want. Even with the minuses for that attack, it having a Dex of 0 can make up for the minuses.
Boy, is she going to look silly if she can't hit the broad side of a huge armored door!

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
OOC Gadgetry Rules. We love em!
Ok, a gadget is something with stuff inside that breaks if you hit it. Pound it hard enough and you put a hole in it. Walls and other inanimate objects are not gadgets. If you score 1 or more RAPs you put a person sized hole in the whatever it is so you can get at what is on the other side. That is, unless it is hardened, in which case you have to keep pounding on the thing to reduce its Body to zero. Like this compound. Even if a nuke went off and scored a few RAPs damage, it would put some dents in but not enough to get at the people inside.
Also, because a wall is not a gadget and has no squishy bits you are attacking its Body as the Opposing Value and its Body as Resistance Value. In this case 26/26. Miss Victorys' acting and effect value will be her strength, or energy blast or whatever else the assembled heroes can throw at it. When combining abilities take the highest value (Miss V in this case) and add +1APs for the total of everyone else who is pitching in, so it doesn't matter if they can lift 100k tons. Any amount, no matter small, adds +1AP putting Miss V in the next category. HOWEVER... (eyes rolling, rules stuff) if you get a bunch of people at the same level it's fine to apply a team attack BUT each attacker rolls separately and applies the Team Attack modifier.
So.
Miss V + all those outside helping target the door. Use 24APs against 26/26
or
Miss V plus a few guys/gals with 23APs (or equivalent energy blast) Str. use 23APs against 26/26 less a Team Attack modifier for each heavy hitter within an AP of Miss Victory. You might score a double, but so might the wall/door.
Crunchy stuff. Anyway...
Anchor Man frowns. "100k? On my best day... I dunno..." He looks at the floor. "Reinforced concrete. Might take the weight."
He explains. "I increase my density and my strength increases. So does my weight. Most o the time I'm limited by what the floor can take. Buildings? Ooooh boy. I remember dis one time I tried ta go fer it an punched through every floor. Ended up tryin' ta hold the building up whilst the super scumbag got away." he growled.
Dr Maximus returns. "I shall endeavour to ascertain those that might be most useful in smashing through this Adamantine/Promethium alloy. In the meantime... I have assembled a group of heroes and determined their combined abilities can cloak our efforts. Not just on mounted cameras that allow Atomic Champion to view us but also..." he pointed up. "A satellite orbits above this point in a stationary position allowing the Ultrahumans to view this site at all times. With some..." he frowns "...interference we can remove his 'eye in the sky'. Keep it quiet that I figured out a way to do that, will you ma'am?"
"Huh! Dr Max, if I didn't know better I'd say you were pretty good at th' less dan legal stuff! I know where ta get copies o the latest movies now, anyway." chuckled Anchor Man.
"Ahem. Quite. I shall divide the supers into teams based on their stated abilities and power levels. Some of course will overstate their usefulness, others aren't as confident and may be more useful than they think. I'll get to it and make sure we have some that can relay messages." said the Doctor as he toddled off.
Miss Victory turned to the gate. The metal had an unsettling feel to it, as well it might. Currently reinforced by a force field this was the hardest substance ever created combined with another substance equally as hard which could take the incoming force applied to it and heal itself, assuming the molecules had time to reform. That meant a sustained successful pounding on the thing would be required to break through. A let up even for a moment might give the stuff the time it needed to reform. All of that was a moot point if the force field didn't drop - she'd not be able to scratch it and didn't know anyone who might be able to. Well, no one on the side of the angels anyway.
Omega Man, the villain she'd played the biggest part in defeating, could probably break through even with the Force Field. Silver Sentinel, recovering inside the sun, could. Thunder Woman? Hmmmm maybe. Atomic Champion? Possibly.
There were other wards about the place to prevent teleportation or warping, phasing and even magical means of getting in.
The Supermax was the toughest place in the world to break into, or out of. This place was looking more and more likely to be its equal. The Scientist in her figured that Lionheart had got in using his speed and some knowledge of security systems but that route would be analysed, shut off and locked down by the AI in this place. Fool me once... fool me twice? Nope.
She pushed against the force field reinforced door. Nothing. Harder... her feet started to dig dust up from the floor as she pushed herself back.
This would take a monumental effort. More than she'd EVER applied before. One that might cost her.
OOC You can PUSH your abilities. This is effectively what Battlebug (in the Vanguard) does routinely. It would be Str 23 vs Str 23 and RAPs cost Hero Points but can be applied to your Str for one round. Use that against the wall. That's your call. If it fails, you burn your Str out (0 APs) for 1 hour.
So...
1) Have at it with the gathered strong/powerful heroes
2) Push your Strength then have a go
3) gather strong/powerful types and attack it separately (needing several successful rolls)

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
Lionheart knew the plan would take time to put into effect.
He sped about, noting where the bad guys were. Orange suited for the most part and others were dressed in civvies. There were operatives of the Ultrahumans base (the human kind) who'd been beaten and trussed up in the common areas and guarded by a couple of bad guys.
Lionheart could start chipping away at these goons but his main, best advantage was that even though this place was watched constantly and monitored by an AI operating the most advanced security ever devised, it was still technology. He was (possibly) the fastest or among the fastest individuals on this planet or even any planet anywhere. That was his advantage. That and his danger sense. He moved from place to place, stopping for a heartbeat then moving on before the bad guys could clock him. Occasionally he'd wait for fractions of a second for them to see him then move to the opposite side of the miles wide compound, up or down a floor.
It was probably infuriating for the bad guys. Good!
He would definitely be better off with his buddy Frostbite by his side though. The guy was a natural leader and never gave in. More than that, he was a power in his own right now and Frostbot could... heck, maybe find his way into the most secure system and if not overcome it then keep it busy.
Then he could help Miss V from the inside by pounding on the door at the same time - high and low.
That said, it sounded like his best friend had troubles of his own and he hoped he'd pull through. No telling what scrapes they'd gotten into now!
OOC Lionheart will have to wait (I assume) till Miss Victory gets into position (figures out what best approach to the invulnerable doors/walls is).

MISS VICTORY
OOC You have 2HP. Even if you got a successful check (50/50 chance) you'd have to pay a 'push fee' of 3HP per AP gained. When I suggested that option I thought you had more HP. Alas.
Miss Victory gathered herself and called out to the assembled Strong Men, Women and... other beings. There were others who could blast nd they would contribute by pounding on the doors but in truth the challenge would be such that their contribution mattered little.
Even with all of those, chances were that the thirty seconds they had whilst the Force Field was down might not be enough time to smash through the strongest material in the world.
Lionheart on the other side might be able to contribute, but that would leave him dangerously exposed and in one place. It seemed he was fast enough to flit from place to place and lead the villains on a runaround that would have them infuriated!
=========
HISSS!!!
Lionheart watched the promethium/adamantium door hiss down behind him. To someone else it would be instant. To Lionheart, he could read a book in between each inching movement the door took. Still, it was a worry. Atomic Champion and his bad guy friends had taken to sealing off sections of the sprawling base in order to funnel and trap the hero. However the interior was nowhere near as strong as the exterior, though it was reinforced with a low power force field. It was an alloy, stronger than steel but nothing like the nuclear proof walls and blast doors that protected those inside from the worst that super villains could throw at them. Well, most super villains anyway.
He placed a hand against a door which had just closed, switched to his Strength (29, about 16x stronger than Superman) and pushed. He felt something flex, the door glow and a hum start up somewhere. Satisfied he could break through the interior doors he reconnected with Miss Victory.
[How's it going? They are trying to trap me?] he pulsed.
[I've gathered an army of strong types and we'll try our best, but we may need a little more oomph. Someone on the inside perhaps.] came the reply.
That left Lionheart with a choice. He could drop the force field thanks to Wandafar then pound away at the door on the inside whilst the army of supers did on the outside and see if something broke. The combined forces on one side and the other might be enough to make a hole, but even then the self healing properties of of the metal may mean they ran out of time before the force field went back up!
OOC If Lionheart gets to the door, access the panel on the inside and types in the too long for a normal human being to remember code to deactivate the force field, they can then start pounding on the door. They have 30 seconds or 8 rounds to get through the alloy and it has 26APs Body which must be reduced to zero because it is hardened. Whilst Lionheart is in one place and pounding away Atomic Champion and his cronies will know where he is and may come piling over to get him so this is going to need some decent rolls and a fair chunk of luck!
Miss Victory HP2
Lionheart HP 167
Note! LH can try to push his strength and spend HP in doing so. Each point increase costs 3HP. If you do that you should also buy a couple of extra dice to smooth things along otherwise you are looking at a straight 50/50 chance of success and if you fail Strength drops to zero for one hour (burns out).
(Battlebug has a power called Adrenaline Surge which does the same thing aside from it costs no HP to use, uses the power vs whatever he is pushing and does not drop abilities to zero if he fails. It's powerful but on the flip side he can only push a certain set number of abilities (3 in his case) defined when the character is made so it is limited in a sense. However he can push dice actions which are not normally possible. The Incredible Hulk has that power (with the limitation only when angry).)
I will also state that Lionheart can donate some of his HP to Miss Victory when they combine their efforts into the same task and it becomes a team effort. Hero Points can be used to buy extra dice for the Strength vs Door and/or boost Strength by pushing it then do the Strength vs Door thing.

OOC: OK I've no idea how much to offer Miss V, by way of HP, but I can happily offer up to half may 80 hp, and I will join her from this side and buy enough to blow up the door. There is little point sitting on a pile of HP, even though I might like to have purchased an enhancement or buff a power if as a result we just get stuck trying to get the door open (the Italian Job and blowing doors off comes to mind at this point ) So I will join Miss V after all if we draw Atomic Champion and his cronies out, then perhaps that allows others to swap the system and get in as well. Who knows, we need the heaviest hitters to be here anyway, so perhaps this is a good thing... (famous last words, one wonders!) but we need to get this door down and everything else has been a bust so far. We've kind of come to an almost immovable object v an unstoppable (if only) force. So Lionheart will push his Strength to stop the see-saw effect and weigh things in his favour at the right time.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
LIONHEART and MISS VICTORY
The hero moved through the sprawling Ultrahumans base, ignoring the fact that closing doors seemed to be funnelling him back to the centre where presumably Atomic Champion and his cronies were waiting.
Indeed, he was so fast they were practically not moving at all to his perspective.
Because of that speed he'd been through almost every corridor on several of the levels of this place and avoided contact with the enemy so he didn't have a full knowledge of the layout but he could get to the door Miss Victory was positioned at without trouble.
He popped the panel open with an application of his telekinesis and typed in the code which would ordinarily be impossible to both remember and input for an ordinary human being.
There was a hum and the door seemed to 'sparkle' less! Wandafar had come through, albeit once. They would not get a second shot at this! Lionheart 'spoke' to Miss Victory in her mind on the other side of the door separated by a foot or so of the most durable material on the planet!
[I'll strike the top of the door, you strike middle and down! The force field is down, we don't have long!] pulsed Lionheart.
OOC Ok so if you hand 80HP over to Miss Victory you have 87HP left.
You want to push your Strength (to boost it) then attack the door so you may want to buy a couple of dice for the push (Strength Boost) then 3HP per point you gain, then some dice for the Strength vs Door attack (I recommend a couple or more of dice and going for a critical or devastating attack. The latter if you are feeling lucky!). Ordinarily Lionheart can put dents in this thing with his 29 Strength. Whether he could put enough dents in 30 seconds (or less) before Atomic Champion and his buddies turn up is ... another question.
Miss Victory - Lionheart has graciously handed over up to 80HP for her use and she gets +1 Strength on top of whatever she uses thanks to the mob around her. Your call on how many points you use to buy dice for the push (if you do) and 3HP/Str point increased then how many dice you buy for the Strength vs 26APs of the Door.

Re: The Ultrahumans! Issue #3 starring Miss Victory and Lionheart "And there came a reckoning!"
ooc: Hmmm ... would need at least 3 more points of strength to equal the strength of the door since she maxes at 23 str. Is it 3 HP per round per Str point used or 3 HP per STr point for the whole 30 seconds? Not sure game mechanics-wise what is best so at least raise my Str to at least 26 and then spend the remaining points as you think would work best for this situation. Devastating attack is probably best too, since it isn't moving don't have to worry about a Dex minus on its defense.
