OOC:
Yeah I was unsure till I talked to Dave and he wants me to continue for the present time.
Lionheart laughed, "you think you're guns can stop me, lay them down before I get really nasty!"
Lionheart/Anyman didn't imagine for a moment that the guards would do any such thing, but Anyman couldn't help playing up the part. Benthem and Trowers were intent on only one thing - conquest and nothing would stop them doing that. They had to be stopped.
With a florrid bow to Nightingale Lionheart/Anyman said, Looks like its time for us to play!"
And as he shifted first into his Anyman guise and then into Sir Frances Drake, he got ready to fight the armed guards here about and go take over the ship.
OOC:
Ok so Anyman is going to do his usual thing of trying to swipe as many guards as possible with his malleable arms.
Just as an aside, with Benthem and Trowers bugging out I do hope we get to finish off all the subplots and threads we started in this time line, I'd hate to see a big reset button being pressed.
We've still got the Putinarians, the Animal men, the super human Hitler and his lunarium goons, America's contribution, as well as the Devourer and all that is going on there, plus what is happening at the North Pole, the Corrupted Putinarian and that's just off the top of my head.
Though I do think that at some point it would be great for Frostbite to return to our prior incarnations (but since no one else has a prior incarnation - that wouldn't be fair to put on everyone else), but since we're here I want to wrap things up before we get back to what happened then. Anyway with all this talk of resting time, i.e. Benthem and Trowers I hope we don't leave too early. Just saying ;-)

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
OOC run out of time - again - before I have to hit the sack. The week is pretty much a write off, but will do what I can. Yeah, am aware there's a number of plots still 'hanging', but your characters can only be in one place at once. I will be 'wrapping' things up as best I can but a number of storylines will be left unanswered to carry over. The theme is 'the doom of worlds' (as if you hadn't noticed from the Frostbite/Sentinel thread) and despite the power of the Vanguard, or perhaps BECAUSE of the power they wield, the heroes are on the back foot. Sometimes, the good guys don't win, despite their best efforts. That said, nothing is set in stone. The Vanguard, ultimately, have the power to take on these robots all across the world. Whether it's worth the price is another thing... More tomorrow. 20.00, bed time :C Up at 03.00

OOC:Sorry I missed this...
Lionheart
HTC: 120/150
HTK: 125/125
Current powers: Flight G2, Strength G4, Force Field G1 (1pt over) HP:10
Hoping that his force field would provide a measure of additional resistance, Lionheart hit the force field in front of him with all his might, he had to break through. His team mates where in serious danger and unlikely to get off the ship without some difficulty. Lionheart wasn't even sure he could get back to them, even if he broke off now.
OOC:
Ok going for they trying to pound my way through the force field and trying to look like he does know what he is doing, even though he clearly doesn't option, here.

Lionheart looked to the advancing robots - they didn't look about to stand about and let Frostbot have his way with the ships computer! He could take them out, run past/through them to find another terminal, or ignore them as he tried to break down the forcefield protecting the door!

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
Anyman leapt into action, stretching his arms out like tentacles, catching the guards on the hop! Nightingale gasped "It's Francis Dra... No! ANYMAN!" she finished, hand to her mouth. The very mention of his name stunned the Guards a heartbeat longer!
OOC four attacks, two hits, 2d10+3+6-17=6, 2d10+3+6-17=6, 2d10+3+6-17=-2, 2d10+3+6-17=-2. Both attempt to dodge. One partially dodges, taking 29htc, the other takes 33htc. Both are still up but staggered!
Even as Anyman took advantage of his foes' surprise, he knew he was in trouble! They weren't armed with peashooters, and they moved with superhuman speed! Not enough to escape his wrath, of course, but enough to slow him down, and sheer numbers might finish him off!
Nightingale dashed to a console "Trowers!" she yelled, forgetting protocol and rank. "It's not Lionheart! It's..."
=========
Elsewhere, as Trowers and Bentham walked along the corridor...
"URGENT COMM CALL FOR DAMON TROWERS!" rang out the voice over the tannoy. Trowers paused to use the comm panel on the wall and heard Nightingale speak "It's not Lionheart! It's..."
"Anyman" said Bentham, chuckling.
"...ANYMAN!" finished Nightingale.
Trowers turned "You knew? And yet you said nothing?"
"A theory." replied Bentham. "Lionheart is not so naive as to trust us. I put it down to desperation, then considered other things. The Vanguard - why are they not, with all their supposed power, destroying the Robo Carriers over Britain? They downed one in short order, and we gaped at the power levels necessary to do such a thing. We certainly don't have that kind of power, yet several of the Vanguard - or perhaps just one - smashed the Carrier, a device that carries an entire invasion force and the means to establish a base, to wipe out a small country on its own. Yet our sensors say the three attacking Britain get ever closer to their targets. I ran the numbers in my head and came to the conclusion that Nightingale confirmed a moment ago."
"Could you not have told me earlier?" spluttered Trowers, barely reigning in his anger.
"I've been preoccupied. The robots were linked, and therefore able to transmit the exact multi spacial frequency required to transport them through time and space. That is why they are here. Consider this also. I plucked them from a future where they had conquered the world and destroyed or enslaved humankind. What if it was THIS world? Perhaps I plucked them from this worlds future and brought them into the past so they then were able to wipe out mankind? We... I... caused this worlds downfall, unwittingly. Interesting paradox, is it not?"
Trowers rolled his eyes and leant into the comm panel. "Control, Trowers. Destroy that ship. Now!"
=========
'You must leave this vessel. Immediately!' said the Dark Power inside Anymans' head!
His opponents, having recovered sufficiently to bring weapons to bear, would have something to say about that, as did Lance Allard. "I'm just starting to get warmed up!" he laughed out loud.
'If you do not, you, and all on this vessel, will DIE!' explained the Dark power...
OOC initiative 8 Anyman, 4 Bad guys. They are no pushovers, with DC5 (/2 Htk), decent strength (25) superspeed grade 1, martial arts, and blasters (-2DD, x2 damage htk or x3 damage htc). Plus, the warning from the dark power should be taken seriously...

OOC:
I hear you.
Tempting though it was to throw this ship around and have fun punching Nazi skulls, such a warning could not be easily ignored. Anyman, knew he had to move. "Yes you idiot, out away the theatrics and lets get out of here, the others need us." Putty interjected in a worried tone.
His mind made up, Anyman, called reluctantly once again on the dark power. He needed to be elsewhere and he needed to be there fast.
OOC:
OK is the ship that Benthem and Trowers tragetting the same as the one the Justicars are on or not, if it is I'll have to teleport there and get them out. If not I'll teleport to the V ship location above Birmingham. I need enough Dark power points to make that jump. And will use hero points as necessary to get me there without causing immanent destruction.

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
Lionheart
Lionheart pounded again and again (with superhuman strength) against the force field. Once more he was thwarted. Anyman had possessed a measure of strength so vast as to be incalculable, and had easily overloaded the force field. Despite being able to lift over 1000 tons, Lionheart didn't have the sheer power required to overwhelm the force field - and now he was under attack!
Frostbot offered "You lack the sheer power of Anyman, Suggest you coordinate attacks with the others. Bulletmans ability to excite Lunarium molecules will come in handy, but only if it weakens the force field at the same time you strike. It won't matter where on the ship it happens."
OOC Three robots crowd in to attack. 2 attacks each, WC2, x2 damage, -1dd, +15 strength bonus. Roll 7 (miss), 19 (hit 33htc), 15 (hit 25htc), 15 (hit 25htc), 10 hit (17htc), 14 (hit 23htc). You have 3 frames remaining this round (having used two to pound on the forcefield). Want to dodge/parry or take the hits, then what are you doing? If you use all 3, initiative is 5 Lionheart, 1 robots so you have 2 frames. To 'hurt' the ship you have to inflict 101 damage or more in the same frame anywhere on the ship. Anyman can do that with every punch using the Dark Power. For mere mortals it's a bit trickier...
On a side note - today is the last day work is making mega demands on me. Have a 12 hour shift to grind through tomorrow but will push to update all, then again on Saturday, and again on Sunday. Not sure what next week will bring, yet...

OOC:
Oh how frustrating! I thought from what you had implied I should tackle the ship to upload Frostbot!
Lionheart dodged the oncoming attacks which with his abilities looked crude and cumbersome. Then seeing that he needed the assistance of the others, dove away from the Robots to find the others and co-ordinate their attack on the ship.
OOC:
ok go find the others then and then co-ordinate attacks to get 101 in a single frame hopefully so we can find a terminal. I still need Frostbot to be uploaded to stop the robot payload from being delivered even if we stop the ship, after all.

"Too many to fight!" shouted Gravity Girl over the roar of guns...
"We have a choice. break off, and get back onto the ship, fight the robots or get into the ship and try to help Lionheart!" she said, then pointed out "Look! Birmingham! We're almost over the city centre!"
"Can we help Lionheart," Bulletman asked. "I'm not sure where he went with his speed. Fighting robots is useless, they outnumber us too much. So we either head back to the V-Ship and try to help out there or go inside and look around for Lionheart and hope we don't get trapped by more robots. What do you want to do, you two?"

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
Anyman summoned up the Dark power from within!
OOC The Ship Trowers allocated to Anyman (in his guise as Lionheart) is in Glasgow. The Robo Carrier there gets ever closer to the city centre, where it will drop its deadly cargo. I assume Anyman goes for something 'safe' in terms of Dark Power, say, 7 points. Roll made (17 rolled vs 14, even with the Dark power growth no hero point needed). Dark power points 10, 7, 4, 2, 8, 1, 8. 40 points of Dark power, multiplied by 2 (80 points). He can bring up teleportation grade 5 to hop to Birmingham if needed. If he wants to stick around and 'sic' it to the Robo Carrier, he just needs grade 1 to get off the ship, grade 2 to get to a safe distance. Your call.

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
Gravity Girl cringed. "We have to help Lionheart. If he could take that thing down on his own, he would have by now. The longer we stay out here, the more likely we are to be blasted from the sky! plus the V-Ship is already a mess. Asking it to resume the attack would seal their death warrant!"
NoMan piped up "Whatever we decide the decision should be made... what now?"
All three turned to see a bright light in the sky! It streaked like a comet from above, then hovered, floating above the ship and about 100m above where the Vanguardians were!
Bulletman stifled a groan. It seemed whatever they tried, there was something else, some obstacle, thrown in his way!
"WHERE IS LIONHEART?" bellowed a metallic sounding voice, presumably coming from the light, which looked about 2m across, too bright to stare at directly, and hovered like a will-o-the-wisp!
=========
Inside the ship, Lionheart used his superior speed and agility to duck from the grasp of the robots!
His mind ran through the problem. The ship viewed him as a hostile virus, a deadly organism to be rooted out! The Force Field would intensify wherever he was to prevent him gaining access, and would box off his escape to... he looked up, seeing three robots round a corner, then took another route at a crossroads.
A force field slammed against him, and he turned again. If he was fast enough, he could backtrack his path in, maybe get out. Which is what the ship wanted. The Frostbot head just needed seconds, a minute maybe, at an unprotected terminal to upload itself into the mainframe, but Lionheart didn't have the raw power needed to punch himself through!
Several spheres seemed to 'pop' or 'erupt' from the walls, clattering onto the deck and unfurling into three robots!
These looked faster, fiercer than before!
Lionheart sighed. He needed a break! The arrival of the robots suggested the only break he was likely to get was his neck!
OOC This new arrival could be dangerous for the Vanguard... Meanwhile Lionheart has his hands full. Flight or Fight?

OOC:
Hey its Rojaws, where is Hammerstein!
Lionheart knew that time was of the essence, he had to get back to the others somehow, playing dodge the robot was presently his only option unless he wanted to expend more resources tying him down to fight these things. Moving as if to feint he speed up, changing up his powers so that he could increase his speed.
OOC:
ok looks like I had a point over so get grade 1 speed, and change up my speed, flying when I can't run etc. I am trying to get out, not slow down fighting these things, dodging when I can. But if I need to fight I will seek to use the Robots Attacks against themselves, either punching one into another or dodging so the other robot gets hit, all the classic tropes.
Did Lionheart hear the voice?

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
OOC even Lionheart can't hear through dozens of metres of ship. He's so fast though, he won't have to wait for long before he finds out what's going on though...
On the deck Bulletman and the others directed the incoming light as to Lionhearts location...
Bulletman reasoned that an enemy wouldn't ask - they would merely force the location from anything in their path! The light flared, bright as the sun for a moment, then the light shot down straight at the deck! There was a bright flare, and the ship rippled blue, shuddered, and halted its progress for a moment!
"That's our cue!" shouted Gravity Girl, weighing down another grenade! She let it go, tumbling and spinning to the deck where it CLANKED! and dented where the force field would, a moment earlier, have repelled it! Bulletman didn't need telling twice - he thrust a hand out...
THWOOOM!
The explosion tore a hole in the deck of the Robo Carrier, but the main damage was occurring across the ship as the power was switched from engines to bolster the integrity field that had been breached, which held the impossible mass of metal together and made it lighter, removing a high percentage of its weight. Without that, the hull twisted, supports buckled and twisted, metal groaned and strained...
=========
Lionheart turned... the robots stopped chasing him and the ship twisted slightly!
His inhuman reactions saved him as a beam dropped from the ceiling that would have brained him otherwise! He seized his chance, grabbing the beam and dragging it with a shriek of metal from the ship! Somewhere else, a corridor collapsed, lines ruptured and a fire broke out.
Thirty decks below a pressure spike caused an explosion, blowing a chunk out of the innards of the ship!
Lionheart raced from the corridor as more metal cascaded from above! He looked up, seeing daylight several decks up, then shot up like an arrow into the open air, timing it by a hairs breadth before the ship restored the forcefield!
The vast vessel was now visibly deformed in the middle, its hull kinked and the carrier juddered as it juggled propulsion with energy and motivation for its defence systems. The V-Ship used the opportunity to fly in, unleashing missiles against the side, but they impacted harmlessly as the field repelled them! A moment later the guns opened up and the V-Ship, already damaged and trailing smoke, evaded the guns and made best distance between it and the guns.
The bright light reformed into a shape, solidifying and darkening, hardening and shimmering into the shape of a humanoid. Furthermore, it became more distinct, recognisable. It was a woman, albeit glowing and shining with energy!
She looked up at Lionheart who hovered in the air over the deck and smiled. "Hello Richard. Did you miss me?"
Across the deck hundreds of spheres bulged and 'popped' clattering onto the deck and twisting, reforming into robots with the deadliest of intentions!
OOC the Robot Carrier is hovering just over the suburbs of Birmingham. It's in a bad way - the loss of hull integrity really shook it! That said, it finally figured out that the insignificant specks that'd been annoying it are more worthy of its attention - so you have it! You have ONE full round to act as you will before combat ensues and there are enough opponents to ensure half a dozen robots on each of you, with more queuing up to join the party! Captain Elizabeth Carter - Peeler 33 - is back... in a fashion.

OOC:
Wow I never how much I needed a search engine for this site, until I tried to use what was here. Went to search for Elizabeth - to track down the relevant information get myself refreshed on the finer points of our last meeting in the Artic, and nothing. Not even in advanced search. And now the threads are so convoluted even going through them by hand isn't easy. Paul have we any other way to search threads - can we link this to google or something, as it stands the search facility is useless and we don't have a wiki for anything?
Lionheart, found himself momentarily speechless. Had it not been for the dire situation at hand it would have been quite comical. "Beth!"
He managed to get out without it sounding like a strangled squeak. His mind raced, though he thought here dead, clearly the machine and the devices that the group from the future, his future had manage to somehow repair Beth, making her far more than she was. Whilst he still had questions, many questions, he couldn't help bring his mind back to the present where the need for survival took over.
OOC:
Ok most annoying was the fact I couldn't remember why Elizabeth calls herself Beth, for a moment Elizabeth threw me. But searching for the details wasn't easy as Elizabeth Carter threw up nothing. I only got part of the information searching by hand.
Anyway we'd better save the howdie doody's till later and get ready to try and get Frostbot into this craft to throw this thing into the sea, before it disgorges robots all over Birmingham, doing the Nazi's job for them.

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
OOC In a nutshell for David M - Anyman posed as Lionheart to sucker Bentham/Trowers into helping them restore the timeline. They were headed to Stonehenge to do just that but Anyman/Lionheart insisted they stick to their part of the bargain struck when he surrendered himself in that they fly to Glasgow to stop the Robo Carrier that threatens the city in Scotland. The gig is up now - they have seen Anyman drop the disguise, and Trowers has given the order for the ship carrying Anyman (and Nightingale, as well as Trowers other cloned PSI agents) to be destroyed! Anyman has summoned the Dark Power -
"Anyman summoned up the Dark power from within!
The Ship Trowers allocated to Anyman (in his guise as Lionheart) is in Glasgow. Your call."
The only question is, does he want to hop clear of the ship before it self destructs, rescue some of the people on board the ship, or abandon Glasgow as a lost cause and go help the others wipe out the other Robo Carriers. As they near their destinations their true role - disgorging thousands of deadly robots on an unsuspecting populace - will become clear. Can Anyman stop a Robo Carrier on his own? Sky Eagle is trying to in Manchester, and Nowhere Boy in en route to help him. The one over Birmingham has Lionheart, Bulletman, Gravity Girl, NoMan, Frostbot and now Frostbite on it. Chances are those combined will stop the Robo Carrier in some way.
With so many different threads going on it's easy to get confused/lost with the track of things. I'd split them up even more but we're close to finishing this issue one way or the other (as we should be after 16 pages) so grit teeth and we'll plug away as is.
Right Now: Anyman has moments (a round I think) to get off the ship before its destroyed.

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
OOC Thread for the Antarctic mission is Here. That drops you somewhere in the middle of it. Start of that issue is November 2010, so I'm not surprised it's tricky to dig out. In the 'story so far' forum you'll find all previous threads. Maybe some kind of index/summary is in order....
ROLL CALL:
Lionheart
Bulletman
NoMan
Gravity Girl
Frostbot (head only)
Elizabeth Carter (Sunburst!)
6 (six) robots per Vanguardian incoming!
STATUS:
The Robo Carrier is badly damaged but over its target. The team have convinced it to stop but its about to unleash its robotic hoard on the people of Birmingham, as has happened in cities across the world!
=========
The lady that had been Beth Carter smiled "Hello Richard. How are you?" she chirped, with a cheeky grin.
The robots closed in, flying, wheeling, hovering and making best speed towards the unwanted guests!
Suddenly the ship stopped with a lurch, not quite over the centre of Birmingham. NoMan spoke up "I predict the vessel will perform its primary function her, before we render it useless!"
Time had run out!
The head of Frostbot spoke up "You have moments to break through the forcefield. Only the combined efforts of those present will drop the field enough for me to interface with a console!"
There was a huge clanking sound and whirring as vast motors started to part the hull down the middle and robotic arms prepared to drop thousands of robot pods on a terrified populace below!
OOC Unknown to the characters present on the deck you have an Ace in the hole - Frostbite - who will be here at the end of the NEXT round. Whether he's in time to help stop the dropping of robots on the populace is another thing. 4 frames, then the robots closing in check for initiative and all hell breaks loose...

Teleport to the robot ship, then do something in his usual deadly [and insane] style and summon more dark power to give him the strength he knows he needs to smash through its force field and cause it to collapse. Use a hero point if he has any to avoid going nova. If he fails, at least the folks died fast and not slow by the hands of the robots.

We are following the glowing girl to the best of our abilities to try to get to Lionheart so we can organize some sort of last ditch attempt.

Yeah I found it eventually. Its just that some adventures start in threads that went one way so its not always obvious what adventure was where or rather what character or location appeared where. Anyway I always wondered if Beth would end up in a different.
Lionheart

"Beth..." Lionheart tried to find the words but they got stuck. He gestured wildly as he fought his feelings and the deadliness of what they faced.
"Everyone, hit the craft with all you can, we've got to get Frostbot to infect the machine with his consciousness and that might switch off all the Robots." Lionheart managed to say, his voice growing in confidence as he once again focused on the matter at hand.
With an mighty effort he waited for everyone to get ready before smashing the deck on last time, hoping to break through sufficient to get past the Behemoth's defences.
OOC:
Ok try and make a coordinated effort to break through and get Frostbot somewhere useful before we loose Birmingham to mass Robot Invasion

Re: World War II - The Vanguard Issue #6 Deal with the devil...
Who: Anyman
Where: Glasgow
The Dark Power inside Anyman reacted to his will. He concentrated, selecting the ability to teleport. He considered in a split second the dangers of teleporting blind, and poured more Dark power into the ability. Like taking a bazooka to kill a flea, he assaulted the problem and crushed it, rendering it meaningless beneath his heel!
OOC Grade 1 teleport costs 20, every other grade costs 15. Grade 4 Teleport will do the trick, leaving Anyman with 15 Dark power remaining.
The woman, Nightingale, screeched down the communicator "TROWERS! What are you doing? You maniac! You..." she turned to Anyman "Help me! Please...?" she asked, eyes filling up.
Anyman (as Sir Francis Drake) twirled a moustache, cold hard look in his eye. He smoothed his trident beard and straightened, glancing at the agents in the room pointing guns at him... Then he vanished!
=========
<ALERT>
Algorithms ran, complex computational formulae that gave prediction and solution to the problem at hand. Everything was in control, with no room for error.
So why then did one of the human infestations stand amidst its mechanical majesty? How had such a being bypassed the forcefields that protected the ship? Force fields so powerful as to deflect conventional human munitions, regardless of design or power, from the future, never mind this backward century? The computer paused several milliseconds, a lifetime for a machine, then sprang into action. The human must die!
=========
Anyman appeared in a corridor, crouched...
Dim lighting ran the length of it, with sealed hatch doors off to either side. At some point the initial design of this Robo Carrier must have included humans in the equation, before the Robots threw off the yoke of their human masters and put into place the ultimate solution to mans making war on his fellow man.
Extermination.
Before that could happen mankind would be put to use as slaves, mining and refining materials, building structures and assembling components, in effect contributing directly to their own downfall. Once the work was finished, across the world, mankind would burn.
Lance Allard understood all of that and more as he summoned the dark power again...
OOC Dark power Growth makes this tricky, but the hero point should sort things out. I'm on my laptop as opposed to my desktop with all the records, but I'll assume Anyman needs a handy boost, so goes for 11 Dark power points. His ego (12) plus roll (13) adds to 25. The Dark Power gets a roll of 7 to add to ego of 11, plus Dark power growth (4 I believe, will check). That makes a total of 22. No Hero point required and Dark power experience total to be updated by 2 (when I get back to my Desktop). Dark power points= [9,6,10,10,1,8,9,7,2,10,6] = (78) with 3 10s and one 1. That means two extra dice, 5 and 5. 88 points, doubled to 176 because of Anymans Dark power level and he had 15 points anyway. That buys 12 extra grades of Strength, adding 144 strength to his existing 40, up to 184 strength. That should easily press over 1.5 million tons (getting near 2 million), somewhere north of Supermans (or any other characters) limits, if I recall... Damage modifier is +169 for 2 rounds.
He stood for a moment, contemplating the robots rushing down the corridor towards him. Smiling, he glanced up at a dome camera on the ceiling, and knew that the ship itself was scanning him, trying to figure out just what had invaded it. Sir France Drake smiled, then pulled his fist back, crouched, and slammed it into the deck at his feet!
=========
The people of Glasgow screamed, prayed, shouted obscenities at the sky!
They were doomed, and the vast shadow creeping over the city outskirts would soon cast over them, bringing doom with it!
Suddenly there was a dull WHUMP! from somewhere, and every window rattled for miles around! People steadied themselves - had their been an Earthquake?
All eyes turned to the vast vessel in the distance... it was massive, long, wide, impossibly huge... and now bent in the middle, as if some giant had rammed a foot down on its deck and broken its back! It flashed blue, then smoke and fire belched from the sides, the horrible rending of metal rang through the air, and a shockwave arrived moments later!
EVERY WINDOW IN GLASGOW SPLINTERED! THE GROUND SHOOK! BIRDS TOOK FLIGHT! ANIMALS SCREAMED AND RAN FOR COVER! ALL EYES TURNED IN FEAR AND HORROR TO THE SKY!
And the vast leviathan that was the Robo Carrier considered a new concept - Oblivion!
=========
Anyman pulled his fist back, batting away collapsing metal from above and seeing in satisfaction as thousands of tons of metal above flew upwards and tore holes through every deck!
Fires broke out, the twist and groan of tortured metal was deafening! A robot, a sphere with spider like arms from its main body, rolled up intent on killing Anyman... he casually batted it away, and punched its metal form through every wall between Anyman and the outside of the ship, a neat round hole quickly filled by falling debris! The destroyed robot flew with such velocity that whatever struck it was instantly destroyed! Vital systems ceased to be, and the Robo Carrier crumpled in on itself as it fell from the sky!
Anyman straightened, holding up a beam that had thousands upon thousands of tons pressing down on it! The falling carrier would still level the city and kill many thousands of people!
OOC you have grade 4 Teleport and nigh on limitless strength. In theory, you can teleport this wherever you want it to go, though it might cost a few HTC depending on how far. Space might cost you 50Htc. Another country, 40Htc. Bottom of the sea, 25htc. Or you can try something else (whatever you can think of in the two rounds it will take to fall to the floor). The Robo Carrier has been obliterated. Another 'easy' victory, but when you have the Dark Power, very little is beyond you. Over to you...
=========
Across the Universe, the Devourer twitched...
A vast cloud composed of trillions, more, of semi sentient cybernetic organisms, connected, as one. A living mind and power that eclipsed solar systems and devoured anything in its path, transforming it into knowledge and might! It detected the use of the Dark Power on the world that was its destination. The vast, incalculable mind considered infinite possibilities and probabilities, linked as it was with its counterpart throughout the multiverse, every dimension and alternate timeline linked, as one, with matchless resources at its disposal!
It would take this power, add it to its own...
The Devourer increased its pace, crossing light years in moments! Soon...

ROLL CALL:
Lionheart
Bulletman
NoMan
Gravity Girl
Frostbot (head only)
Elizabeth Carter (Sunburst!)
6 (six) robots per Vanguardian incoming!
Beth nodded, then watched as Lionheart landed on the deck. Gravity girl weighted her last grenade down, Bulletman prepared to set it off, and NoMan copied Lionheart as best he could, gaining superhuman strength and speed with a touch! Revelling in the power, he grinned and Lionheart called out "Don't waste your strength! Together! NOW!"
The group struck as one in their own way, taking it out on the force field protected deck!
The Ship shivered, and something snapped deep inside as a blue ripple ran over it! Once again the Carriers flight paused, and laboured engines strained to hold the bulk aloft! Lionheart used to opportunity to speed through another rent in the deck to lower levels, crashing through a metal ceiling to land in a room leaving dents where he stood. He reached up with the Frostbot towards a computer console. The Robots tongue coiled out like a snakes, then split into tiny tendrils that pressed into dozens of places on the console!
The force field restored, and Lionheart pulled his hand away - the Frostbot head was now 'trapped' in the ships forcefield, impenetrable unless the group were able to muster the same sort of power again to make the ship drop its shield!
Suddenly the Force Field winked off around the head, and it clattered to the floor! Lionheart picked it up and turned it about where it stated "The 'package' has been delivered. A virus has been uploaded to the central processing unit and should be distributed throughout the ship. The carrier is attempting to block it with firewalls, but it will realise - too late - the only defence is to physically tear its network distribution nodes out from its own innards!"
Lionheart sped out of the room through twisted metal corridors and around beams, dodging leaking pipes and sparking conduits, and his uncanny sense of Intuition led him out into the open air, even as the route he'd taken closed behind him as more beams collapsed!
The group started to move away whilst the guns on the carrier were silent.
"If the computer finds a way to stop the virus, it will immunise itself against further attempts" said the head of Frostbot.
Gravity Girl frowned "If that happens, Birmingham is doomed!"
All they could do was wait!
OOC and that's where Frostbite - and whatever he is doing, comes in (update tomorrow)

And if I have another round, can I then TP those two carriers above and third carrier and have them smash into it? Would like to tryit even if it knocks him out.

Oh yes, can't wait.
As an aside, what are the possibilities of making Frostbot a fully fledged Sidekick with the ability to develop and grow with new grades of appropriately themed robotic based powers. I just have loved the way he more than anyone has continued to be a central part in all we've done and would love to see, when this is done, him grow into a sidekick of sorts. Able to leap aboard as my central second processor but in his own form, able to improve himself and grow?
