Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
OOC:Sure I'll attempt to parry the attack but Im guessing so I would have to take my hand off the alien metal?
How much metal have a assorbed so far?
IC:As the Nazi lunged in at the silver sentinal Steve managed to sway to one side but the Nazi filled with rage lunged again with all his strength and driven by anger Steve attempted to parry his potential blow.
OOC:In my next round I would like to melee attack the Nazi scum (presuming I used a full energy attack last round and I have no plasma attacks left currently) If the Nazi superhuman trys to make a break for it I'd like to pick my machine gun up (I'm guessing I put it down when inspecting the alien machinery) and riddle him with shells
P.S. How are your hands doing now?

Silver Sentinel

OOC My hands are *almost* back to normal now, thanks for asking. I just have to watch out for grabbing anything too hard as it gives me the equivalent of tiny paper cuts on the soft skin. That said, 'normal'... I'm sure my hands aren't that big compared to say, an NBA player, but they are the biggest hands of anyone I've ever met
Steve through up a hand to pit his strength against the Nazis and hopefully deflect some.. or all of the blow!
OOC Roll of 17 does it. Roll of 9, +15 from strength bonus is 24. On the dot.
The Nazi looked on in surprise as the spy pulled up a hand to block his fist.. and there was a definite 'Clang!' sound!
"Vat?" he spat, glancing at his throbbing hand and the hand of the man who faced him...
In the next moment that same hand lashed out... CLANG! on the Nazis chin!
OOC Roll 16, hit, 21htc damage, enough to tip the Nazi off the edge of the building, out of sight for the moment!
Steve wasn't sure how much he'd hurt this nutcase, but he'd knocked him over the side of the roof!
The P'utinarian called out "We have no time for this! We MUST get away! The place will be swarming in moments!"
The bombers were close now to their destination... the guns would be in range any second! Could he abandon them to their fate? If he tried to disable the gun would he be at the mercy of the Nazi? If he delayed any longer, would he be able to escape their clutches?
'Call on me.' rasped a voice from within 'Call on... the POWER!'
OOC Initiative 7 Good guys, 5 bad guys. You have 1 frame to act then their four. The roof guns are going to fire this round (at the end) so whatever Silver Sentinel does or doesn't do could make...or break those bombers and their crews! SS is still on 45htc, which at least is good news...

OOC:So the acid on your hands didnt grant you superhuman powers........... or is that radioactive spider bites I can never remember
IC:"We need to save those bombers"
"But we will surely die or worse in the hands of those you call Nazis" shreaked the P'utinarian
But Steve wasnt talking to the alien he was talking to the omnipotent voice inside his head
"What will happen if I call on the power? Last time I listened to you blacked out for two weeks I need to be in control this time"
"What are you talking about hu-man" the P'utinarian shreaked again with even more panic in his voice
"I want to trust you Shadvarnazzi but if I'am truely your symbiote we must work as a team, I promised this P'utinarian I would, we would, save him too ...........We owe him are life. What can we do" Steve looked upward with his fists clenched asking Shadvarnazzi
OOC:I'm guessing melting the guns targeting gears wouldnt work then?

OOC Oh melting the guns will work just fine, it's just that you haven't tried it yet... Saying that you were avoiding a Nazi trying to beat your head to a pulp...
The inner voice stayed silent for a moment. 'You don't understand mortal. We are in Limbo, unable to act in our own realm knowing full well that the usurpers would sense it and find us, and the temptation to control your mortal form as our own is near overwhelming! Besides that, I believe your head might explode, and the rest of your internal organs follow...'
Steve blinked. This thing wasn't joking! The guns spun up and he thrust a hand out (OOC 1 frame using metal morph...)... all of a sudden one of the guns drooped like a candle and jammed! The other started to open fire with tracers that lit up the sky!
Suddenly the Nazi soared over the brow of the roof and swooped down at Silver Sentinel! (OOC used 2 frames to move)
He lashed out with his fists as the alien moved over to the gun, trying to figure out some way to stop the remaining weapon!
Steve ducked, scrambling back, then righted himself, hands raised in a boxing stance! The Nazi was enraged! he swung wildly again and ... missed!
From the sides of the building crawled more aliens! Three of them coiled into a vaguely humanoid shape each on the roof! Silver Sentinel and his alien turncoat friend were suddenly outnumbered!
OOC Nazi had rolls of 4 and 6 to hit, both missed. You have three frames. Your alien friend is thinking of jamming the barrel with his body but you go first...

Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
"I dont have time for this" Steve shouted as he leaned back, raised his first and threw it, followed by the rest of his muscular body, to hit the Nazi with all his strength
OCC: If I succeed I'd like steve to get to the other gun as fast as possible and melt it
"Dont worry I'll use my body to jam the barrel" the alien said in his monotone voice
"Your body""Are you serious? Thats insane it'll kill you" Steve answerd the alien
"Ok Shadvarnazzi tell me what do I do?"

Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
Silver Sentinel
Steve Jenson
OOC roll 11, hit, 22htc reduced by dividers
The Nazi reeled from a punch Steve threw, who then turned and thrust a hand at the gun... (OOC roll of 10htk to the metal object) Instantly the barrels oozed like wax.. and the alien threw himself across Steve like a blanket! Steve spluttered "What the...?" then the world flashed!
He felt a falling sensation, and thudded hard into the snow, opening his eyes and groaning. he lay on his back 10m from the tower, having been blown off it by the exploding gun! Fiery fragments fell about him, and he saw dripping grey ooze dropping into puddles here and there. The Nazi was lying in the snow on his back, blackened from the blast, and Steve himself was covered in grey ooze that started to dry and powder.
The alien had given his life to save Silver Sentinels!
=========
Above the clouds...
"Bloody hell! We're being fired at!" yelled the pilot of the lead Lancaster as they neared the island. "Havers, do you have the place in your sight yet?" he called over the radio to the bomber.
"No I...wait! Yes! A fire down there! It's like a beacon! Bombs away!"
=========
Silver Sentinel was down and surrounded...
Injured, dazed, still some time off regaining his energy and surrounded by angry Nazis with machine guns! As he looked up though, contemplating seeing whether his legs still worked, he saw the dots in the sky... bombers!
'You wanted advice on what to do mortal? Run! I suggest you attempt to get inside the building you were atop of. My brother said he and his symbiote used it to transport across your world to a far off land...' said the rasping voice inside...
OOC You have moments before the bombs start landing! The gun went off, blowing everyone off the roof and killing your alien friend, who died saving you. The Nazis around you are normal soldiers, but the mysterious clones and the lizard woman are making their way through the gathered men.

Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
"You shall be avenged my friend" Steve said through grited teeth and picking himself off the sticky ground.
Steve then broke into a run, pumping his legs as hard as he could he headed for the building as the voice instructed.
"I'll keep my word and try with all my heart and soul to save your people" the hero exclamed as he spotted the front doors of the building which were still left a jar as earlier.
And to think Steve Jenson was just sent on his first misson to recon the area of loch ness in the hope of finding more information on the mysterious 'loch ness monster' but little did he realise what he would find and in trying to stop the Nazis from they're ongoing struggle for world domination catch the interest of a group of superalien beings trying to stop the world falling into eternal darkness. And now after two weeks of a coma combined with the infiltration of not one but two Nazi bases time had past differently for the silver sentinal it felt more like hours not weeks for him, he was about to get bombed by the very people he just saved ..................ah to be a hero.
OOC: Im going to listen to shadow and do precisely as he/it/she says

Silver Sentinel
Steve Jenson
As Steve rose to his feet the Nazis started shouting at him, levelling weapons. He wonder how he'd get more than a few steps but the oldest trick in the book helped him out. "Look! over there!" he pointed, straight up.
Some of them glanced.. and that was enough!
He started pushing through the circle of Nazis, parting them like a bowling ball through skittles with his strength, and waited for the inevitable hail of gunfire to scythe him down from behind!
That never came - instead the high pitched whine of falling bombs drowned it out!
"ACHTUNG! SCHNELL!" went various cries, and the Nazis started scattering for cover. Even the tall lizard woman, intent on capturing the spy, gazed up, and her face fell. She was resistant to bullets to some degree, but saturation bombing was another matter!
Steve used the confusion to duck inside the white building, and looked about. There were panels lining the walls, and it was laid out in a circular fashion with a central column. Doors lined the outer walls whereas a set of double doors were set into the column itself. He heard a sound behind, and saw one of the oozing aliens come in. They looked at each other, then the alien started towards Steve.
"We have only once chance to live! The explosion damaged the shield generator!" it said as it ran PAST Steve towards the double doors set into the central column. "We have to hope the teleporter is functional, or we will die!" The doors swished open, and Steve watched the alien get in. Outside, the Nazis were screaming, running for cover as the bombs continued falling, and would strike in seconds.
He had a choice to make - follow the alien and risk betrayal, or take his chances and hope the building around him would withstand a bombing raid!

Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
"Here goes nothing" Steve said following the alien thinking what little choices he had. "Anywhere is better than here" (OOC:Hopefully)
Steve entered the tall column as the double steel doors closed behind him
JING JING ........JING .................JING...........WUUUU was the sound of a generator firing up somewhere outside the column. Steve just had enough time to look at the oozing alien and shrug his shoulders as if to say 'I guess its not working then' when I blinding blue flash erupted across they're eyes followed by an itching static sensation with white lightening (not the cider) that engulfed they're bodies growing more and more rapid with every second.
BANG
Then........nothingness. Not blackness nor white, that would be something.
No just nothingness.
OOC:Sorry I didnt know what to write. I couldnt just say 'yeah follow the alien dude'

OOC Don't worry about it - it was kind of a 'binary' option anyway - go or not. you guys can always do whatever you want and I've often been presented with options where I go 'ah, I didn't think of that. Let's just say that happens instead and see where it goes' so feel free to throw curve balls every now and again to make sure I'm paying attention
Suddenly the lights came back on.
"The lift wasn't supposed to do that." explained the alien. "The explosion must have knocked out the power matrix. This may not work."
The lift lurched into life again and the pair stepped into another room with flashing panels set into the circular wall. It was a large room, and set against one wall was a 6m x 6m section of panelled floor a different colour to the rest.
"Step onto the floor if you want to..."
Panels fell from the ceiling, lights flickered, sparks arced across the panels on the floor and everything went dark before flickering into uncertain light again. Outside it sounded like the world was ending!
"QUICKLY!"
Steve did as he was bid, sidestepping an arcing panel that fell from above, and kicking it off the slightly raised platform he stood on.
"Tell your people... Tell them, we are not all bad. The Nazis... they are ..." the alien searched for the word. "P'aarrtargh."
The room started to shimmer around Steve. The alien shook his head again. "No. The word... your language... EVIL."
Then a bomb struck the building directly, and everything went bright white!
=========
"Well I'll be!" drawled an American voice. "Hold it right there son, don't move a damn muscle or ah'm gonna ventilate ya!"
Steve responded by keeling over, vomitting, and dropping to his hands and knees. Bright, blinding light shone in from a wide open door. He was in a similar place to that which he'd been in moments before, save it was partially dismantled from the efforts of astonished men in white coats who stared open mouthed at the youngster on the teleport pad. The man who'd been speaking was dressed in an Army uniform. An American army uniform.
"You ain't like the last one. Best be no Nazi son, or yer getting a new earhole on this side o your face." growled the man with a pistol pressed to Steves head. Steve slowly turned, and saw a man with green and browns, enough medals and stars to signify he was highly ranked, and a large cigar chomped between his teeth. The gun he held wasn't army issue - it looked like an old style revolver, save the barrel was wider and longer, and the gun considerably larger and heavier. "Don't try it son. Had this made as a demonstration to the bigwigs that a handgun could punch through tank armour. They didn't go fer it on cost but ah kept this one. At this range? Ah reckon it'll blow your head clean off. I'm Colonel Jack T Haggard and you, son, are a prisoner of the United States of America!"
Steve looked about. He wasn't in Scotland any more, that was for sure!

"Im with .... the British forces ...........oh god colonel, my commanding officer is General Wynn.
sweet jesus it feels like my guts are inside out ERGHH After a few seconds Steve composed himself.
"Sorry bout that Sir" now on his feet and saluting the colonel. Willing the metal of his body as a sign of his good intentions Steve added "They call me the Silver sentinal an as you can see I'm with a special branch of the goverment. I'll come quietly if you still want me as you prisoner all I ask is can you inform my General of my where abouts as I've been most likely presumed MIA by now"
Steve just stood there and slowly started to raise his hands to show Haggard he wouldnt put up a fight and would surrender unconditionaly.
OOC:Ok not the best enterance for the silver sentinal, half alive and vomiting lol

The Colonel did his best not to gape at the metal sliding off the young soldiers hand, but failed. "My god! Where are you people coming from? Whatever they put in the water over there... we want! And fer the record, if it was up ta me our boys'd be there fightin' alongside ya. As it is, the politicians decide all that, and we get ta go where they think is best fer us ta die. Soldiers lot, but then you know that ah reckon. Till we confirm things with your people that you are who you say you are, you're under house arrest son. Same thing we told your friend, the one with the blue glowing thing on his chest."
Steve frowned (OOC he's not met Frostbite yet BUT it sounds like one of the Vanguard was here, and the description most closely matches Frosty).
"You don't know him eh? Well he was a good idea. You? We don't know about. So far, you been behaved. Keep it that way son and maybe you'll get ta meet the president and be given some fancy pyjamas ta wear."
Steve wasn't sure what to say about that...
=========
"Well, ah just got off the phone to a General Wynn. He says that not only are you one of his, but that you're to get your 'arse back here asap!' "
Said the Colonel. Steve had been treated well, given a shower and fresh clothes, food, drink... and a cell. Turns out he was in some top secret base in Nevada, USA, and had been transported thousands of miles in the blink of an eye!
The Colonel fumbled for his keys, cursed, and turned to the guards, who looked sheepish. "Damn it all son, we done gone lost the darned keys. Be a while 'fore we can get you out of there cause we need a new set..." His voice trailed off as the metal of the lock drained away, door swinging open, and the young Englishman walked out.
"Well I'll be. Look son, ah'm gonna lay things on the line. You come work for Uncle Sam, we'll make you a national hero! Anything you want! Cars, girls, money, great big house... Uncle Sam can provide that an more, but we need someone like you! The last one got away, cause they was too foolish to offer anything but pride and a fancy costume with a shield. How about it son? Want to work for Uncle Sam?"
Steve Jenson
=========

Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
Steve smiled "Im sorry Colonel my duty is to jolly old England, the Cars and girls sound great but I couldnt with a clean conscious knowing that Gerry is up to no good. Exspecialy the girls" with a salute and then leaned in to shake the Colonel hand.
"Maybe we'll meet again Colonel and perhaps fight side by side against those Nazi dogs when our politicians make up they're minds, after all we couldnt have all the fun and lets you boys miss out now could we eh?" Steve winked and turn to be escorted by two stocky and serious looking yanks out of the secret base, to a local air strip for his flight back home.
Sitting in his uncomfortable hard seat on the military quad engined plane Steve thought as well feed as he had been after almost starving in the field there was still a space inside for a nice slice of tiffing and a nice cup of earl grey back home.

Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
OOC I will update later today once I've posted Lionhearts post - the two of you will be spending some time in the USA, then be on another trip, hopefully... to the moon...
Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
Silver Sentinel
Steve Jenson
"You heard me right Jenson. The moon. That device you stepped through was some kind of instantaneous transport system from the Faroe Isles to where you are in the Nevada desert, where they store an identical, albeit damaged, vessel. Our planes report they completely wiped out the Nazis with that bombing run, by the way. The place was flown over and it's just a scar on the landscape, though we need to get down there and confirm with a body count. From your report they had at least two superhumans in the camp, and that tallies with what Frostbite said. In my experience the swines don't just lie down and die though, so we're conducting a search and establishing our own base up there to stop the Nazis getting a foothold again. In the meantime, Frostbite has orders to be flown over to where you are, and we are making arrangements for Lionheart and one of those Putty aliens to get over there - in double quick time, I might add, but it's a one way trip for the method they are using. Your orders? Sit right, and DON'T agree to work for the Americans. Whilst they sit out the war and the Nazis crowd on our doorsteps, I see no reason why we should help them out unless they help us first. truth is, we need them more than they need us, but we have something they don't, and they want badly. You lot." growled General Wynn down the phone.
Steve frowned, phone still at his ear. He would have to wait it out a bit longer, it seemed, until Frostbite and Lionheart got to the place. Haggard had been polite enough, but after the refusal Steve had been more or less shipped out immediately, only to be halted on the runway, much to Haggards annoyance. "Darned Brits! Sticking your nose into our business!" he growled, biting off the end of a cigar as he stomped down a corridor with Steve following, and a contingent of guards hurrying to keep up. "Well, we have things to do round here, not least of which convince the President that swapping our crashed spaceship for three super freaks is a good deal! That said.. the damn thing is busted good and we never did figure out how it worked, or even how it opened, until your buddy Hoskyn (Frostbite) stepped out of it. If I'd have been on the case when he turned up I'd have persuaded him that working for his very own Uncle Sam was the best option!" He stopped at a door, opening it and waving Steve in. It was a well furnished room, all mod cons, and food, books, whatever he need. As the door closed behind him and the lock clicked he was under no illusions though. He was an unwelcome guest!
OOC Watch for the new issue coming up - crossover between Frostbite, Lionheart and Silver Sentinel. Should be tomorrow (16th)

Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
Steve staired into his thoughts and imagened what could possibly be happening on the moon, of all places.
Who was this Frostbite and lionheart the General spoke of, all he knew was he was going to work along side some heavy hitters. Steve was back to being a small fish in a big pond again and couldnt help but wonder how many 'big fish' were out there and what weird and wonderfull powers they had. So many questions rushed around in his head.
Although he felt he could of easierly broken out, Steve decided to stay put ..........at least for now.
OOC: Looking forward to the next adventure, of many hopefully

Re: World War II - Silver Sentinel Issue #2
OOC Don't worry about game longevity - we're into our second year now and no sign of slowing from anyone. We've lost a couple of players, but the door is always open for them to return! With four active players and a great post rate (every day for 2 years is excellent with play by post in my opinion) we're in good shape, and the players who've registered but not applied to play are always welcome to join in. You're up, in the Vanguard Issue #2 by the way...
