The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
OOC You had 214 HP, earn another 120 for Episode 5 and are now on:
HAUNT HP 334
THE HAUNT Issue #6
Haunt grapples with his friend, oozing around him like a snake!
In return, Praetorius... the beast that had been his friend at any rate, hisses "Iiiiiii toook serum so no others would die! It... I... failed though! Instead of kkkkkilllling me it changed meeeeee instead of killing meeee like the others!"
Praetorious had been one of the scientists forced to create the serum that boosted ordinary men into bestial superhumans, doubtless upon pain of death to himself or others! Most likely others - his friend was brave and stubborn but to save others he would use his immense genius when forced to perfect and enhance the serum... until he realised it had worked too well! By taking it himself he would ensure the formula died with him...
Unless he'd made it too well!
Haunt gazed into the beast eyes of the creature he entwined, and saw something, a reflection, of his best friend!
Just then...
OOC Ching! Spikes jutted from every pore of the creature Haunt held!!! Razor sharp, enough to rend steel!
They hit automatically (Haunt is holding his friend) but do they penetrate?
Claws 14 plus Roll(2d10)+0: 8,7,+0 Total:29 vs TN11 + Haunts Body 13 (24) HIT +3 Effect
Claws 14 + 3 (17) vs RV13 = 4 damage
HAUNT TAKES 4 DAMAGE BODY 9/13
The claws jut everywhere from the beast, including to the floor! Haunt and the creature are pinned to the floor!
Haunt grunts in pain, and the creature locked to him by its spines roars with rage!
Though they were en-cloaked in mist Haunt could hear others stumbling through the gloom, feeling about where they could to help the creature take down the hero!
OOC The No Prize was for the Issue number on the last cover. 4. Should have been 5

"OW! Darn it, Doc! Stop that," The Haunt grunts as he takes the attack. "Hate to do this old man but needs must...."
actions: attack the monster doc by squeezing him.
ooc: my list of things to remember to do. Open all the other doors, get civilians found out of here, take out or scare away the others. Get out of here and get some place safe!

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
OOC Sorry about delay, been up to my eyeballs in HOUSEWORK for cryin out loud. It's done, but bizarre how I prioritise these days. Can;t do anything without tackling the... <insert chore> anyway...
Despite the fact that squeezing the spine covered friend turned monster would puncture his own skin even further (!) The Haunt continued to squeeze!
OOC Uh... ok! Imagine picking up a hedgehog, or porcupine, then squeezing it as hard as you can. That's what I'm talking about! Still, you know what you're doing (I hope!)
Haunt Str 14 plus Roll(2d10)+0: 1,1,+0 Total:2 (16) vs Dr P Monster Str 12+TN11 (23)
Oh, OUCH! Double 1??? That's what came up, honest!
Haunt squeezed... and the creature gave a crackling sound that could have been a laugh! Luckily as the hero had little in the way of grip on the creature the spines didn't press any further into his skin! He needed another tactic!
The creature snarled... then tried to BITE Haunt!
OOC Dr P Beast Dex 8 + Roll(2d10)+0: 2,4,+0 Total:14 vs Haunt Dex 9 + TN11 (20)
Nearly as bad as Haunts attack!
Haunt was too fast but realised another problem. The other creatures coming at him in the fog would be here in moments! His friend he could - maybe - handle but a mob of these things?
Despite masses of the things coming at him, the hero had the presence of mind to reach to a prison door. Locked! He'd have to figure out what he was doing - fighting the thing that was his friend or freeing the captive scientists. He could do one or the other, but suspected his fog would only hold off the others for so long! Praetorius, even in this state, would know his friends powers and abilities, and how best to limit his effectiveness...

"I hate to do this, doc," The Haunt murmured to his friend. "But needs must!"
actions: Throw Doc at the approaching monster men. Hoping that with the fog and Doc barreling into them will cause confusion and maybe get them to attack each other. THen bust down the doors or walls [whichever is easiest] to try to free the other prisoners while the confusion reigns.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
OOC Strength vs Strength...
Haunt 14, Doc P 12.
Roll(2d10)+0: 6,8,+0 Total:14 + 14 (28) vs TN11 + 12 (23). 5 difference +3 Effect, success!
Haunt casts his spiky friend aside, pulling hard on his arms and spinning him away like a top! The spines tear at Haunts near invulnerable skin and tear a hole in it!
OOC HAUNT takes 1 Body damage from the cast off/throw and is on BODY 8/13
With his friend thrown into the mass of oncoming beast men the hero moves away, stepping up to each door and forming a suction cup from his hand, ripping it clean off its hinges before turning to the next one!
The scientists inside were terrified, then a moment later smart enough to realise this *might* be a rescue! Haunt had pulled four doors off their hinges, freeing four scientists, before he heard a quiet growl and looked through the -what was to anyone else - impenetrable fog.
Dr P had lost all reason, and the beast men had paid the price! In the confusion they'd torn at each other and there was only ever going to be one conclusion, like putting a pit bull dog in a pit with puppies (as horrible as that sounds! ) Dripping with blood the enraged Dr P looked ... well, like a spine covered engine of muscle and death! He roared, and Haunt could swear his friend had grown in size! He was filling the corridor and his diamond hard spines gouged the tiles as if they were of Plasticine!
Then he charged at haunt, through the fog! How on earth could he see?
"He's mutated!" shrieked one Scientist as the fog swirled, revealing the beast momentarily! "The ultimate killing machine they wanted! the fools! If he gets loose he will tear London apart - and everyone in it!"
Haunt 14, Doc P 12.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
scoop up rubble, form "machine gun" with Omni-arm and blast Doc P with "rubble bullets".
"See if you can get out at the other end of the hallway," the Haunt orders the freed scientists.
ooc: Oh BOy! Election Day. Tomorrow I will wake up and be very very depressed or very very happy. Good thing I'm having a physical first thing in the morning. I may need a doctor's attention then.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
OOC I dread to wonder whether your election day went as planned. I'm not that interested in Politics but I can't imagine that anyone saw Trump as President, much like us over here with Brexit. The problem with politics and the press seems to be a need to maintain the status quo, with hardly anything changing regardless of who is in power. It's a trend that seems to be spreading, and the Far Right are leading the polls in France. .. They are up next.
Scooping up rubble Haunt formed his own gatling gun with his arm and spat it out with furious velocity at the oncoming beast that had been his friend - who was swelling and popping even as Haunt looked on!
OOC Omni Arm gives Projectile Weapons power at the same APs so long as you get something to use as ammo (whereas the power you are mimicking would provide its own ammo)
Haunts Omni Arm (14) vs Dr P Dex (8). I will assume you go for a critical blow for a chance to dent his hide!
Roll(2d10)+0: 8,6,+0 Total:14 + 14 (28) vs TN11 + Dex 8 + Crit Blow 4 (23)=Hit +3 Effect. 14 Omni Arm +3 (17) vs RV19 (up from 16 as his density increases with Density Increase 3 - adds to Str does not detract from Dex) -6 (crit blow) (13). 4RAPs damage to the Brute
BEHEMOTH
D 8 S 12 B 11
Int 6 W 7 M 9
Inf 7 A 7 Sp 7
Skin Armour 5
Mind Field 8 (Animal bestiality - when this is in effect cannot communicate with other humans rationally)
Regeneration 6
Thermal Vision 8
Sonar 3
Claws 14 (Animal bestiality - when this is in effect cannot communicate with other humans rationally)
Jumping 6
Analytical Smell/Tracking Scent 9 (Animal bestiality - when this is in effect cannot communicate with other humans rationally)
Martial Artist 5
Density Increase 3 (Increases with rage. Increases Str does not decrease Dex)
With a roar like a machine gun the Beast is buffetted backwards and skids backwards down the corridor, leaving the coast free for the scientists to get clear! They run past, heading for the elevator shaft. That would present another problem, but one at a time!
The creature thumped on heavy stone cracking feet, crashing walls and plaster into fragments as it piled at Haunt!
OOC Roll(5d10)+0: 2,2 Total:DOUBLE plus Roll(2d10)+0: 2,4,+0 Total:10 + Dex 8 (18) vs TN11 + Dex 9 (20). MISS
The creature towered over Haunt and swung several times, smashing walls to fragments... but Haunt was too fast!
OOC Haunt wins initiative. This thing is getting bigger! Behind him the scientists will be heading to the lift shaft, but from there...?

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
"Okay ... time for Plan ... E, I think," the Haunt says in a low voice.
(I've totally forgot if we are above or below ground. I think the Haunt went up to find the Professor but I might be wrong. So change the direction of the attacked based on are we up or down.)
Form jackhammers and blow away the floor/ceiling at the feet/head of Doc P. Either allowing him to drop down a floor or have an opening to go up. With him getting bigger either option has some merit.
ooc: Yay, Trump won, I don't have to think about moving to New Zealand or Australia to avoid the crazies.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
OOC You came down a lift shaft. There's still some way to go down but up is a better plan and out into the open air where Haunts speed will better suit. As for Trump, well, I always keep an open mind with these things. That said I don't think either candidate was anywhere near being competent enough to be leader of the free world, but, hey, what do I know?
Haunt glanced up then launched his stretched fists up through the ceiling!
OOC Roll(2d10)+0: 8,2,+0 Total:10 +14 STR vs TN11+Body 10 success
The hero smashed up and shot through the hole like a worm, catching the beast that had been his friend by surprise! He emerged into a large open pan room that looked like a storage place, stacked high with crates and boxes from small to large! It was lit by half a dozen hanging bulbs from the ceiling but Haunt wasn't exactly inconspicuous in his all white garb! Plus Praetorious, or whatever he .. it was... kinda knew what he... it was looking for. He did make the suit after all!
Crashing below suggested the beast had searched through the fog - how was it able to 'see' him? He sniffed at himself. Possibly scent? Heat? All sorts of ways he supposed. He wouldn't put sonar out of the equation. He had moments. Looking up, he saw another ceiling. He could keep going up, or find somewhere to hide in here. He sure hoped the scientists were having some luck finding a way out - they couldn't make their own holes!

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
Hmmm ... fight in an enclosed area or make for a larger area to move around in? Structural damage should be minimal if continuing to bore upwards as long as a load bearing bean isn't taken out.
Let's go for the open areas where the Haunt can move more easily. So turn self into a human-size drilling machine and keep boring upwards until we hit the ground floor and outwards.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
Humans sized ghostly white drill with eyes otherwise known as 'Haunt' buzzed through the concrete of the floors and plaster of the ceilings as if they weren't there!
With a roar and a crash Haunt knew that his old friend now Monster P had picked up the scent and started making tank size holes in the floors and ceilings as he gave chase!
Whatever was going on here - illegal experimentation, gambling, organised crime and who knew what else, they would soon have to figure into their activities a way to rebuild this place! It ran so deep under London that Haunt guessed it had been a gentlemans' club of some distinction and far reaching influence for one, maybe two hundred years! Well they'd unleashed the beast, now they reaped what they sowed!
Haunt crashed through a floor into... a drawing room? It was vast, with carpeted floors and antique furniture about the place, book lined walls and surprised patrons - suited men who looked very much like old school crime types! Some spluttered, others swore, still others patted for weapons in their suits that had been handed in at the entrance! Haunt landed in a cloud of dust, shredded carpet and smashed concrete/bent steel rods and powdered brick! Haunt was looking somewhat less 'Ghostly White' than before! He looked across and saw huge windows looking out over the streets of London. He was now around thirty feet off the street level so on the second floor.
A quick head count... fifteen, twenty gangster types all shocked and surprised. No one looked frightened though and one guy pulled several rings off his other hand to form a click together knuckle duster while another smashed an expensive bottle of champagne against a table to make a makeshift bottle/weapon...
More worrying were the sounds from below of the beast getting MUCH closer! Man, it was like a cross between a Rhino/Elephant with the speed of a cheetah and agility of a spider monkey! It had changed/mutated in minutes - Haunt needed to stop it before what was left of his friend was unrecognisable!
OOC Continue with the fight inside the building (and continue with the smashing up of this hive of villany?) or go through the window and out into the streets of London?

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
OOC Roll(2d10)+0: 9,7,+0 Total:16 for Aura of fear. Success!
Haunt pumped out mist and unleashed his fear aura...
The criminals wail in terror and drop to their knees, all thoughts of assaulting the white corkscrew like drill gone even as he swirled back into his original cloaked human form! Filling the room with white fog, he dived through the window and out into the darkened late afternoon/evening London streets, taking his surroundings in and figuring he could go up, and look for vantage points higher (skyscrapers, a church, tower blocks) or head down to the streets where shoppers/office workers might be at risk but where he could lose himself in the crowds.
The chances of him hiding himself being as bright white as he was were slim but the creature that had been his friend appeared to be evolving and changing all the time. He had little doubt it would track him by scent, like a bloodhound, or echo location like a bat perhaps.
That left a straight up fight or ... or he could possibly lure it to a park where it would get the attention of other heroes... Yeoman? The UKChampions? Would that benefit his friend... or see him consigned to prisons for superhumans? Haunt was powerful - he had no doubts of that - but compared to the massed ranks of the UKChampions... if they were to subdue his friend and take him away, would he ever see Praetorious again? He heard crashing behind him, and screams! The beast was on its way... and coming up fast!

Want to avoid crowds as much as possible so looking for a graveyard, park or large construction area, so the Haunt will go up to get a bird's eye view of what's around him and where he can fight without bringing harm to lots of civilians.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
Trying to ignore the crashing sounds and screams from the building as much as he could, Haunt grew wings and took to the sky, looking about...
Well, there was a construction site - probably a high rise building was going up from the looks of it, and it was in the early to middle stages, more of a framework of girders and concrete without any glass or partitions in yet. A crane was moving materials onto site, and a number of workers were on the scene.
Nearby, a church, and a small graveyard. In this day and age land was at a premium and even the church had to give way to progress! Still, it was empty, being during the day, and enclosed with a wall and railing around it.
Further afield was a large area of green belt, probably a park with trees and paths and the like breaking up the areas of grass. It also had what looked to be a boating lake and had a reasonable number of patrons, mostly dog walkers and the like.
ROOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRR!!!
Haunt looked down. His friend was... changed again? Morphed into some 15 feet high and almost as wide behemoth with spines, claws, chitinous plates and enormous sharp teeth jutting every which way from a jaw like a crocodiles! It looked around, sniffed, then up... compound eyes on the side of its head were like a flies...
What had they done to his friend??? Haunt was in trouble - this thing had pretty much replaced his best friend and he was left with few choices - kill it, or subdue it, then what? He only knew of one... looking across London he wondered if one of the addresses he had for Wandafar the alien, former Executive member and sometime Vanguard aide, might have some means to contact him? The alien scientist was a recluse but didn't bother too much with a secret identity these days. His heroic exploits in costume might be behind him, but Haunt could see if there were some way to reverse this process his friend was going through... before it was too late!
Even as he watched, the creature was bunching huge legs beneath it, like a kangaroos, and with claws more deadly!
Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
Plan: Prepare to Dodge his leap, grab him and fly us to the construction site as it seems the best option to have weapons to use on him and has fewest people around it.
ooc: Damn! I'm fighting Doomsday! Hope I don't end up like Superman!

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
OOC Yup looks that way!
Haunt is still faster than the beast, but it seems to be getting faster! Must be that Cheetah/Spider monkey fast twitch muscle dna...
Dex 9 plus Roll(2d10)+0: 5,5,+0 Total:10 DOUBLE plus Roll(2d10)+0: 2,9,+0 Total:21 (30) vs TN11+Dex 8 (19)
Haunt waited... waited... his friend leaped into the air towards him!
He grabbed the beast by the ankle and took to the sky! Catching it by surprise Haunt was able to take to the air and flew at his fastest... the weight on this thing... was no issue. Despite weighing over one ton, the creature - which was nearly twice as tall as Haunt and many times wider, Haunt was one of the strongest superheroes in the UK!
He'd almost gotten to the site when the creature started to wriggle!
OOC Strength 16 (!) of the beast vs 14 of Haunt. Roll(2d10)+0: 2,1,+0 Total:3 Oooh. That's terrible! 19 vs a TN25 don't cut it!
Haunt releases the creature towards the site, whilst it had been trying to escape and wreak havoc!
It crashed through layer after layer of concrete and iron girders, smashing through them like confetti! Floors toppled inwards and an alarm siren wailed as workers ran for cover! With a crash of thunder and shriek of twisting metal the building started to come down on top of the beast! All that weight! Dust billowed outwards as Haunt swooped in to scoop up three workers who'd stayed to gawp at the wreckage!
He dropped them and turned to the mess... It was still coming down, to a collapsed heap of metal and concrete and the beast underneath it! CRASH! THOOM!
"Hey! Hey you!" shouted the foreman as he dashed forward. "Who's gonna pay for all this? Eh? Eh?" he bellowed. Then he stopped to gape.
Haunt watched as the mountain of rubble started to shift...
OOC The beast is moving even under all that stuff! There are bystanders all around. Haunt has no idea how long he has before the beast smashes free!

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
"Get everyone out of here," he snaps to the foreman. "This place is going to be a battlefield with damage that hasn't been seen since the Blitz! And get the police to call out to any supers that they can find. I'm going to need help to stop this Behemoth! Tell the cops to clear out a dozen blocks all around here, that thing is that powerful and dangerous!"
Actions: Grab lots of some nearby girders and other big metally things, stretching my hands to grab lots, and squeeze them into a giant makeshift baseball bat/club. And as soon as I see any part of Behemoth come out of the rubble, start pounding away at it. Don't care if it is just a finger or a toe, pound it!
meanwhile acid is rolling in the Haunt's stomach as he considers what he is about to do to his best friend.
ooc: totally forgot, but does the Haunt have some quick way to contact those newbie heroes he helped out earlier? Maybe have them on speed dial or we shared communicators between us. If so, he is calling them too. If not, maybe some will show up when this hits the TV or internet, nowadays with people and their picture cell phones.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
Haunt tore up girders as if they were made of cardboard, and that kind of highlighted the problem.
His friend, the creature that was mutating into an invincible engine of destruction, was probably at least as strong or stronger than him. The girders would probably slow him down but chances were it would be an irritant at best! He wracked his brain. The UKChampions were resident in London and the south, but it depended on what else was going on. Those fledgling heroes might come in handy, but it might get dangerous for...
A bright light shone in the air behind him and he glanced up.
He didn't recognise the costume initially, or the look, but the heroine announced herself as STARLIGHT!
"I am STARLIGHT of the UKChampions. Desist IMMEDIATELY and power down! Your actions have marked you as a VILLAIN and I hereby arrest you by authority of the United Kingdom law regarding unregistered superhumans!" she shouted.
Starlight? Haunt remembered now. An alien, supposedly, and one obsessed with image probably with a new look every week! Still, at least she wasn't dull, sticking to the same look year after year. Mind you it meant she had to loudly announce who she was to all and sundry who would squint at her shining appearance and wonder who she was for a moment.
Haunt was a smart guy. He knew Starlight could fly, blast energy, illuminate an area, shape change and ... ahem... influence males via pheromone control. Quite a skill set. The flight especially. She was fast. That meant first on the scene and possibly minutes ahead of anyone else. She and he would be the only ones who...
The rubble shifted...
Starlight raised her arm and the hand started glowing as Haunt hefted the girder/bat and prepared to splatter what emerged from the rubble, only for Starlight to announce "LAST WARNING!"

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
"I AM THE HAUNT, SPECTRAL AVATAR OF JUSTICE," he shouts back just as loudly, fog still streaming out of him. "And this thing coming out of the ground is a monster created by evil people. A monster I am trying to stop before he destroys all of London. He was once a man, who was kidnapped and experimented on and changed into this thing. He's not really responsible for what he is doing."
He gets an idea.
"Maybe you can calm him down and we can take him somewhere and change him back to normal," he says, using his acting ability to try to convince her. "Maybe Wandafar can help him? OR somebody as good. If not, we will have to fight him and try to bring him down before he gets too powerful."
ooc: IF she is going to blast him, he is going to blast right back with his Fear Aura directed at her alone before she controlled him. If she doesn't, he get ready to fight Doc P.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
Starlight paused... "You mean to say that..."
A HUGE explosion cut off her words as it seemed like a bomb had gone off!
Debris spiralled through the sky, tons of it in every direction! Haunt gaped as the creature - as tall and wide as a semi detached house (about 30' high and about as wide and deep - he's massive now!) stepped from a huge crater, girders, rubble and dust rising all about him!
Despite the thick all enveloping fog the creature looked in his direction! Had it evolved again... probably yes! Some kind of sonar??
Just then a light blasted through the rubble nearby, and Starlight's beam punched through it into the sky! She grunted and reached to climb out... And the beast started to stride, then run, towards her! It's speed was terrifying... nothing that big could move that fast, surely?!?! The ground shook, sending car sized rubble into the air with every pounding step! Starlight looked up, then back at Haunt "Get help! I shall hold it here!"
She had a point - the situation and the creature that had been his friend had grown, evolved beyond the capacity of just one hero to cope with!!!

ooc: Do I even have a way to get help? Other heroes I can contact? Memory is fading on that point. I'm sure I know where Wandafar's place is but not sure of any other heroes I can contact.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
OOC You have an earpiece communicator that gets in touch with Wandafar (and the Vanguard) but both are somewhat... indisposed at the moment. By that I mean shrunk to subatomic size and fighting for their lives in a microscopic universe. I'll just say indisposed.
If you want to spend the time fiddling with it you may be able to send out a distress call to all available that can interpret it. While that is going on, your buddy Dr P will be trying to eat Starlight!
The creature tossed rubble in every direction with each footstep!
Haunt glanced and caught one as it spun past, a 1000lb chunk heading straight for a gaping man in a passing car! Suddenly Haunt was very, very aware of the London streets. Traffic, pedestrians, buildings... he'd drawn the thing away from the busiest areas but the chance of collateral damage was huge when this thing could tap a car sized chunk of rubble and send it spiralling through the sky for hundreds of feet!!!
Starlight grit her teeth and shouted "NO MONSTER! You WILL fall by MY hand!" and she levelled both hands to blast at it! A flare like the sun shot out and struck Dr P in the chest! She poured on the power as the charging creature slowed its run, shielding its head from the intense light! The smell of burning flesh and bone filled the air, but the smoking creature not only seemed to be healing as fast as she burned it, it seemed to to be growing as well!!!
"It's... it's not possible!" she gasped as she stopped blasting, seeing the darkened patches on the creature where the blast had struck, burned, and done ... well, little else! She took to the sky, hundreds of feet up and pressing a finger to her ear, doubtless calling for help whilst she thought herself safe from the beast. Haunt saw the telltale bunching of boulder sized leg muscles...

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
ooc: Ok, not knowing that they are indisposed, I will try to contact them anyways. And upon failing, get back into the fight.
"It seems the more we attack it, the stronger it gets," the Haunt yelled at Starlight. "He seems to primarily want me. You and your team have some place I can try to lead it in order to contain it. And "IT" is a friend that has been turned into this against his will!"
actions: Time to do a Luffy D. Monkey attack from One Piece anime/manga - Gum Gum Gatling Gun! - A series of rapid fire blows using stretching to hit from a distance. Putting HP or whatever we are calling it into hitting Doc P and points into damaging him.

Re: The NEW Vanguard! Haunt Issue #6
Starlight seemed confused and levelled her arms to blast again, but this time it seemed less vibrant, not as bright.
Dr P, or BEAST P more accurately, simply ignored it!
Scooping up armfuls of rubble the elastic form of Haunt funnelled them into a makeshift gatling gun.
OOC We use Hero Points to buy additional dice when rolling to hit. When Haunt uses melee weapons (either stuff he holds or forms from his arms) he gets a pile of free dice to use. When using missile weapons he doesn't get his skill bonus and so must pay for extra dice...
I'll assume he goes for three extra dice (21HP cost).
HAUNT HP 313
Roll(5d10)+0: 2,8,1,2,5,+0 Total:4 double (though 13 might be as good a choice. Will see if follow up is any good) plus Roll(2d10)+0: 10,3,+0 Total:17 + 14 Projectile weapons (omni arm) (31) vs TN11 + Dex 10 (more agile than Haunt now!) +4 (Critical Blow). +3 Effect (to 17).
No damage.
The creature noticed the hail of rocks but even as they pinged from his skin and face, it seemed to grow scales and chitinous plates to protect it so that the eye slits were so tight they appeared to be closed!
It did the trick though. Starlight took off and the Beast known as Dr P turned instead to Haunt, who sent out the call.
"Hello?" crackled a voice. "Who is this? This is a reserved emergency channel. Identify yourself or I'll block you." came the voice on the other end.
Haunt didn't recognise the voice over the crackling line but hoped it would be someone who could lend a hand in this mess! problem was did he hope to keep avoiding the beast whilst he made the call or try to lead it off somewhere? Wherever he went he knew the UKChampions would be able to see it from the air.
Then another voice. "Whoever this is, I'm gonna get over there and kick your ass! This is an emergency chann... awww crap. What the heck is that?"
Haunt glanced up and saw a helicopter with SKY emblazoned on the side. A news copter. That meant live pictures would be going out and people would know about this. The police and army would mobilise, people would panic and the situation would get worse.
"I'm on my way... white guy. We need to have a chat about your dress sense!"
Haunt was pretty sure that was the experienced superhero known as YEOMAN. He was on his way, but would he be enough?
OOC Tricky. This thing is powerful in the extreme now, and every time it gets whacked it gets more so! It's heading right for Haunt. Does he stick around, lead it away or go on the offensive?
