Let me know if that's too big - will shrink if need be
.

I think it is fine. Gave me an idea though. What if the Western Ghost Ride was like Rush King's Great-great-grandfather and actually existed in this new world? And what if he had some small powers of his own and used them along with his tricks to convince folks he was a supernatural spirit of Justice? And what if, later down the road when more xp is earned, his spirit comes to visit his great-great-grandson, either to give him a measure of his power or to carry some kind of warning for a future menace we might face?

Something to keep in the back of our minds and explains why he uses such a costume in England, of all places! rabbit

Admin, thank you and I will look forward to the background information, and especially the newspaper bits. That sounds quite intriguing, and is a very good way to draw us in! Also, thank you for the clarification of who will be playing whom. But even if a slot opens up, I would decline a second character for the same game. I can immerse better with just one, and I have noticed I am horrible at having my own characters interact with each other. tongue

David, I would not worry about the cheeky comments. Hats for men are very in fashion now. Smile

Dunecat, I have not seen your character, but one option if you have not done so is to mystic link those powers you intend to be spells so that they actually are supernatural. In such a case, while it is not always necessary, you might want to consider a limitation that you must speak an incantation or perform some gesture for the power to work. And a second option is to make them actual magic rituals as per the magic sourcebook.
I am curious though, what other game are you keeping his history from? Is this not a new character?

Initially I was going to play Stormbreaker for Pauls DC vs Marvel game on the murpg forum. I ran into the problem of being about 100 hp short of making him work out well and had to trim things uncomfortably. So I made Silas instead. Very Happy Before that though I made a fairly detailed background, including bios for a couple of secondary characters.

As for the powers, they are all either mystic powers already, or mystic linked powers. I also gave them fatiguing to mimic the spirit backlash from sorcery, and the No AV drawback to simulate being incompletely developed. The fact that I'm sitting on a rather massive Influence is just gravy Very Happy it does however mean I end up with a higher AV then I would otherwise. At least so long as I don't do anything to boost those powers that is.

As Paul said I'll be joining in as soon as we sort out my character. My character is called Red Dragon and if anyone is interested in reading his back story I'm more than happy to post it here for all to read if Paul doesn't want me to keep it secret

Fire away Jason, I'm posting up Frostbites amended sheet:

Welcome, new players and old! - Page 4 Frostbite_draft_v03

Changed - Charisma dropped, Wealth up, Cold Immunity power. Frostbite shouldn't ever have to worry about taking harm from cold. His full resistance breaks all the rules (36RV) but cold attacks are so rare that I can't see it coming up in the game that often unless they face the cold villain to make all others look mildly nippy.

Then will be getting stuck into a writeup for Red Dragon - more to follow (hopefully tonight, though I'll have to go do some work at some point. Been sat here on the computer for nearly 4 hours at 'work' and I use the term loosely Smile )

You know Silver Sentinel (where is Ross anyway?) and Frostbites/Lionhearts, but they need an abridged 'this is what happened so far' unless people want to read through three years of archive posts... I have Kyokos - I'll post that up - and Red Dragons looks like this:

Matthew’s parents lived in a boring house , Cardiff South Wales. They had boring jobs, and Matthew knew from an early age that he didn’t want to end up as boring as them

As Matthew grew up he started to get into trouble, first shop lifting then as he got older things got more serious steeling cars and breaking into houses. Finally he was expelled from school.

Not having to attend school gave Matthew even more time on his hands he carried on his criminal activities. It wasn’t long before he came to the attention of a local thug named Morgan. Morgan ran a small operation out of a warehouse in an area of the Cardiff docklands called Tiger Bay. Morgan controlled the local prostitutes, casinos, smuggling (both goods and people) and protection. Matthew was invited to meet Morgan and nobody refused Morgan so Matthew nervously went along.

At the warehouse Morgan asked the 16 year old what he wanted out of live.

“That’s easy. Money and respected. But most of all I don’t want to end up working my life away like my parents, I want excitement and adventure.”

“Good then we may be of help to each other. I want to offered you a place with my team. It would be small work to begin with but once you find your feet you could become a respected member of this community.”

Matthew couldn’t believe his luck.

“Yes I want the job and no way am I going to let you down Mr. Morgan.”

“Good lad now go with Tony over there and he’ll give you your first assignment.”

Tony was a big bruiser, he used to be a boxer before it was found out he was taking dives for Morgan, although nothing could be proven against the boss. Tony ran Morgan’s protection arm of the business and this was where they saw Matthew starting.

Over the following months Tony accompanied Matthew to the retail area of the housing estate he lived on and instructed him in the finer art of extracting money from the shop owners.

After about a year Tony let the boy run the south side of Cardiff’s protection racked. Now Matthew had what he always wanted Money, excitement and respect (or fear depending on which side of a well placed fist you were on).
His parents by this time disowned him and the community started to shun them for allowing their boy to go bad. So one morning on the way to work Matthew’s dad approached his son to try and talk sense into him.

As this was going on Tony came round the corner. Seeing Tony the boy turned to leave, it was then that Matthew’s father grabbed his arm.

“Don’t you dare turn your back on me I haven’t finished with you yet.”

The boy spun round and looked directly into his father’s eyes.

“Take your hands of me old man. I will have respect even from you.”

“Respect, you don’t deserve respect you are the shit people scrape off their shoes..”

By now Tony was level with the two men. Matthew wanting to loss face with both Tony and the boss swung his fist hard into the older man’s face. There was a sound of cartilage breaking and his father staggers and drops to his knees. Turning Matthew walks over to Tony and they leave.

“ Who was that then boy.”
“ No one, just a mark that didn’t show me some respect, forget him. So what have you got in store today.”

“ The boss wants you, me and a couple of the lads to go and give some old shit a message from him. It looks like he’s muscled in on the bosses import export business but won’t pay the protection.”

They arrived at Wolf Import and Export twenty minutes later.
Things didn’t go quite to plan. The old boy resisted to the point that he actually struck Tony a good left hook that staggered the big thug. Like Matthew earlier Tony couldn’t let his boys see this go without punishment so he laid into the old boy with both fists. What was left was not recognisable. Matthew and two others pulled him of the dead body and left as quickly as they could but not before Tony ordered the warehouse torched.
When the boss heard what had happened he was not happy but he understood Tony’s temper and suggested that all involved should go away for awhile until it all blew over. Matthew was sent to north Wales to hide and to only come back when the boss sent a message it was all clear.

Unknown to anyone, the dead old man had a son, this man was Eric Wolf and Eric was a retired special forces operative, and he had installed a surveillance system in his old man’s warehouse for protection. Upon viewing the tapes Eric put out some calls to some friends and that evening a group of six men left Eric’s house to go hunting, Eric’s old unit The Wolf Pack had reformed for one last mission.

The first Matthew knew something was wrong was when one of the Bosses messengers arrived at the guest house he was staying at.

“The boss says you have to go run hard and fast and find a hole where no one can find you. Tony and the others are all dead.”

Just then the door to his guest room crashes open and two men open fire shooting the messenger dead. Being quick witted Matthew had been on the move as soon as the door opened and was close enough to the window to jump but not before one of the bullets struck him in the side. Hitting the ground hard Matthew was quickly up on his feet and running. Steeling a car he made to escape only to notice two cars coming up fast behind him. Soon they were in the open country side heading ever higher into the Welsh mountains. Turning a bend in the road Matthew noticed one of his pursuers lean out and fire at his tires. One burst and Matthew had to fight to keep control. Thinking fast Matthew realised there was now only one thing to do.
Speeding up he turned into another bend and for a moment his pursuers were out of site and in that split second he swung the car out and over the valley edge The Wolf Pack turned the corner just in time to see the car sail out over the valley and crash down the hill side. Matthew in the mean time had jumped before the car had left the road and was now climbing up further into the mountains. Luck though was not with Matthew as when the car hit the valley bottom it did not explode as he had hoped. This meant the men how heading down would quickly find the car empty.

Matthew bleeding heavily made it to a ledge near the top of the mountain and edging round found the ledge leading to a cave. Crawling in exhausted and half dead with loss of blood Matthew collapsed.

Opening his eyes Matthew expected to be looking down the barrel of a gun but instead of a gunman there stood a small old man in cords and a cardigan.

“who are you? Where am I?”

“Who I am is of no importance at present as to where we are well that easy your lying and bleeding in my cave.”

“What about the men chasing me the ones who are trying to kill me.”

“their outside looking for you as we speak. Oh and please don’t make it sound like you’re the innocent party in all this I know what you’ve done Matthew, I know all about you and I’m very disappointed.”

“anyway We don’t have time for idol chit chat. I find it tiresome talking to no good little shits like you anyway. But then I still see a glimmer of hope for you.”

“Believe it or not you belong to a line of kings. I know I can feel them turning in their graves as we speak. How could their noble line be marred with a worm like you. Well you are all I have to work with so I suppose you’ll have to do.
Now I have a proposition for you, shall we say a chance to redeem yourself. A chance to safe your skin and do some good. I can grant you the power to do good in the world all you have to do is accept it.”

While the old man was talking Matthew readied himself to escape. With the last of his strength he launched himself at the old man only to fall flat on his face having passed right through him.

“that was stupid Boy. Do you know how I am. Let me give you a clue. This hill you climbed is called Merlin’s Mount. Now do you see who you are messing with. Do you realise you are descended from King Arthur himself that you have a spark in you that could save this land and the world around as he once did. Your father had that spark but turned down my offer. He turned it down because you had just been born and he wanted to protect you and your mother. And how did you repay him you humiliated him in the street in front of his friends.
So you listen up and you listen good you have two choices you take what I’m offering and I ignite that spark that hides in you cold heart or I feed you to the Wolves.”

Now Matthew was scared and if what he said was true then it would be better to have the power than to die and with the power he could teach this old boy some respect.

“Good you have decided.” With that the old man places Matthew firmly on the ground and steps back. Raising his hands fire erupts around Matthew and slowly the circle decreases until the young man is enveloped in the flames. The pain is unbearable Matthew prays to die but the pain goes on for what feels like an eternity.
Then suddenly it stops.

“It is done boy. You now hold in your soul the power of kings a flame that could be a beacon of hope for many in the coming years.”

Yes thought Matthew I do feel different. With that he points towards the old man with a smile on his face and watches as flames burst forth from his finger tips and to envelope his target. When the flames had died the old man was still there.

“Oh Matthew did you think I wouldn’t know you were thinking of doing that when I gave you the power. I told you, you were to be redeemed and shown a nobler path to walk. So here is lesson one.”

With that Matthew bursts into flames and the pain returns.

“you see Matthew having taken on the mantel of your ancestors you took on their noble cause, The power won’t allow you to do evil thing it will punish you it will push you in the right direction. It will teach you to do good, whether you like it or not it is now part of you.
But also know this the power will kill you if it has to, to stop you doing evil. Then it will wait for the next in line to find me and be granted this privilege.”

With that Matthew comes awake back in the guest room he has been staying at, with no bullet holes and no broken doors.

It was a dream only a dream I need to get out of here thinks Matthew, and heads for the street. While walking he convinces himself he had dreamed the whole thing, but he still had men after him and he needed to get away fast passing a car he tries the door and finds it open as he is about to steel it he is overcome by an intense burning in his left hand looking down he sees flames burning his flesh to the bone. Staggering back he raps his coat round his hand and runs.
When he stopped running and had gathered his thoughts he gingerly unraps his hand to find it whole and healthy. Looking across the street he was in he notices a small old man sitting on a bench looking at him. He is wearing cords and a cardigan, he smiles to Matthew gets up slowly and walks away.

Over the months Matthew has learned the hard way what this new power will and won’t let him get away with.
The power of Kings grants him the ability to shoot flames from his hands, fly, generate a force wall for fire that can protect him from harm, create fire out of thin air and call forth fire spirits to help him in a fight. He is also immune to fire even his own until he steps off his noble path and can absorb fire into his body to boost his other powers.
Matthew soon returned to Cardiff to confront Morgan and take down his little empire and to ask for forgiveness from his father.
Matthew realised he would need an alter ego. He created a scarlet suit with a stylised mask in the shape of a dragons head and named himself RED DRAGON after the national emblem of Wales.

Now Matthew fights on the side of good. Though sometimes he steps off the path and is punished for it. He is a reluctant hero that has a love hate relationship with his powers.

Unknown to him The old man that died was in fact Merlin in disguise and the Wolf Pack are his retainers and modern day knights. They are also around keeping an eye an their liege lord to make sure he doesn’t stray to far off course.

Draft version 1 of the character:

Welcome, new players and old! - Page 4 Red_Dragon_draft_v01_1

One of the Drawbacks, Mistrust, means he is effectively wanted by the police/authorities. I wanted more points so figured someone who started lots of fires would make the Government and Police pretty nervous, despite his heroic tendencies. Think Batman Begins and the first half of Dark Knight Rises, where he's wanted by the cops for the murder of Harvey Dent. They stop short of riddling him with bullets but chase him around a lot and otherwise make his job harder...

Oh yeah he still has that rebellious streak in him and will push his powers as much as he can.

Paul - was wondering if he could have a few criminal skills like breaking and entry and the like and maybe a hand to hand skill to reflect his mis- spent youth

Thief fits the bill nicely. I'll also stick in a compulsion (serious or critical attraction meaning he needs to roll and 11 or an 18 or more on 2d10 to NOT do it) to fight crime and evil.

Dunecat, thank you for the clarification. It seems you had gotten quite far with him, so it must have been easy this time around. And that was a clever workaround to use fatiging as a simulation.

Jamat, welcome to the game! That is an interesting character.
I have some thoughts on it however, which you or the Admin might want to integrate, or ignore as you see fit.

Mistrust might not be appropriate. While he does use fire, and that could make people nervous, it would not necessarily make people think he was a criminal. having mistrust could also be a problem when you meet with the other heroes. If everyone thinks you are a villain, then what is to stop one of the others from bringing you to the police?

However, Limelight fits it perfectly. He is not considered to be a supervillain, but is watched much closer than everyone else is, and investigated more often.

In addition, what also seems to apply is Dark Secret. He does have a criminal background, working for a local crime boss and participating in those activities. If this were to be discovered, he would have considerable trouble. This could also lead to some RP, in terms of Limelight leading to more investigations, and him trying to avoid the investigators discovering his DFark Secret.

Also, it might not fit for him to have a compulsion or irrational attraction to fight evil. Nothing in his origin suggests he loses control and has to do so, and it sounds like he somewhat resents what has happened to him, and he has tried to commit criminal acts of his own only to be punished. So, there is really no irrational attraction driving him, especially if he still has the rebellious streak that was stated. He is not drien to do so, he is forced to do so.

However, if is driving him is negative stimuilus, and he is burned when he tries to commit crimes, then perhaps a Miscellaneous drawback that he is attacked by his own flame project, with no resistance from his flame immunity, when he attempts to commit a crime. That would also lead to some interesting RP. Does he commit breaking and entering to gather evidence on a suspected criminal lair without proof first, risking that fire damage, or does he go and try to gather more proof before doing so to avoid the pain and damage? (This could also be handled as a limitation to one or more of his powers, rather tha as a drawback).

Also, given his first instinct was to attack the old man that helped him, that he still has a wild streak, and that he likely looks for outlets for his aggression as a way to cope with his limitations, perhaps a minor Irrational Attraction to violence might be possible. (But as he might wind up assaulting someone taking too long in the grocery line, or talking too loud on the cell phone, perhaps this is just better as a RP note, rather than as a true IA.)

If he is considerably anti-social, even now, then he could have the Socially Inept drawback.

His wealth might be lowered. Since he was supporting himself with criminal activity, and is now denied that method, he would likely be struggling to make ends meet, especially since he was expelled from school, so likely does not have the ability to get a good job. (Of course, this can be handwaved away if Merlin is ensuring he has enough to live on.)

Finally, given he was a thug who never finished school, he might not need to have an Int as high as he does. He does not strike me as a brilliant person, exceptionally perceptive, or quick-witted.

On the positive side, taking any of these would give you more points.

Two things you might consider taking would be a low level Connection to the Street, as he likely does know what goes on from former contacts, or perhaps a Connection to the underworld, depending on how long he was with them and if any survived.

Lightning Reflexes might be appropriate, considering how quickly it sounded like he moved and reacted when confronted by the Wolf Pack.

Also, Welsh is different than English, is that correct? if so, he might have Language as an advantage.

Finally, he might have an Area Knowledge of his neighborhood where he was working.

Again, those are just a few thoughts, and you are certainly free to ignore them and me! Very Happy

Hi Deeyin

Thanks for the warm welcome, Been here before as SkyEagle but thought I'd take a new character and being Welsh myself I thought why not be a bit patriotic Very Happy

Those ideas are all good I will have to take it all home and look through. My book came last night and I picked it up on the way to work this morning so haven't had time to review it all yet.

I've never played Blood of Heroes before so it will be a bit of a learning curve for me but I'll do my best to catch up quickly.

Red Dragon is a bit of a wide boy as they say, a bit of a chancer but not really evil. He was a teen in a bad environment who wanted to better himself but took the wrong path. His father knows all about his powers, having been offered them when he was younger. They are both starting to build bridges and Red realised his father gave up much for him and he feels guilty that he got it soo wrong.

You are correct on the issue of will he break into somewhere or get more evidence before hand. I think it will make a good bit of RP for the character.

Again it 's up to Paul how much the wolf pack get involved or for that matter Merlin but I thought it gave the game a good link with the more mystical side of the superhero genre and with Britain specifically.

Once again cheers for the comments

Jason

I've had a look at the powers in the book and I like the ones that you have put together and is exactly what I was thinking of. I think the Thief would be a good fit but I'm not sure about limelight over mistrust. Paul what do you think?

One thing you might want to concern yourself with is your Dex score. Your flame project at 15 to represent your sword is a very powerful attack, but having no range makes the attack use Dex/Aps of power if I'm not mistaken. Essentially Dex to hit and then the power to deal damage. Your 7 Dex is fairly good but you might have trouble connecting with some more agile foes with that power. Admittedly you do have other flame project powers that have higher APs for hitting more agile foes. Additionally, you might consider a catastrophic hatred of performing evil deeds. Essentially whenever Red commits an evil deed you make a roll of 2d10 and if you're under the target number.. which i think is 15 or something like that, then you compare one of your flame project powers vs your spirit to determine damage as if an attack had already landed, much the same way sorcery does. I picked spirit because that best represents a moral backlash type of effect in my mind.. also it's might more risky, your spirit of 7 is 1/8th as resilient as your body. You should honestly get some more points from that set up, seeing as you actually take damage from this drawback rather then having it just effect how you rp your character.

Just some thoughts!

Also, We should get to see Kyokos character sheet some time! I'll be posting mine up once I get it solidified.

Limelight and Dark Secret fit better than Mistrust in my opinion because you have a secret identity. They do not know you are a criminal. Unless you have used your powers to be an arsonist, or there is a reason to think you have, then there is not a compelling reason for the police to consider you a criminal, compared to anyone else. Fire can be dangerous, but is not inherently criminal. But that could get you watched more than someone else and investigated more, so Limelight works better. It also works better for other reasons as well. Limelight is a 10 point disadvantage or so. Mistrust is a 50 point disadvantage, and thus, is one of the more serious ones. With Mistrust, until it is bought off, you are considered a criminal, and essentially by everyone, including us. If you are wanted by the police, and this is known, then we would be failing in our duty associating with a known criminal. rather than turning you over. Mistrust tends to work far better with loner characters, rather than team ones, and if half the adventures are team based, it could be problematic. Mistrust is more appropriate to fugitives from justice, those being hunted, and with task forces looking to arrest him. Limelight is better for a situation like `keep an eye on that guy, there's something about him I don't trust. Maybe he's dangerous or hiding something. I don't like him'.

Dunecat, he does not need to worry about his Dexterity. No Range is does not include no AV, as No AV is a different limitation. He cannot project that fire past his area, but in melee, he can still use his power's score of 15 for AV. So he will still be incredibly effective in combat as he maintains his 15 AV/EV of power rank. As for the Irrational Hatred to Crime, yes, that was what I was intimating with the miscellaneous limitation, but I like the way you have described it better. I would still call it a micscelleaneous limitation rather than an IH though, as it is not an IH and works differently from wnhat it does. Also an IH is more appropriate to villains. I would not consider it worth more points though, as it only comes into effect if he is committing a crime. Given we are heroes, that should be a rare occurance. Razz

Kyoko's sheet, well, it can be posted, but it will be modified since I was looking at the 2nd edition version of sorcery when I had created it, and the Admin made some good points and suggestions. So, I know it will be altered, and I am already in the process of doing so. However, her origin will be the same, so if you care to see that, here it is:

****
Background:
Kyoko lived with her mother, a single parent. Life was not always easy for her or her mother. They had spent time living in America when she was younger, and she was often bullied by schoolmates, taunted as gaijin, even though she was nihonjin, as if she was `tainted’ by having lived and overseas for an extended period. And it did not help that she was a strange child, dreaming of visits by oni, yokai, and other bakemono, or of fairies, ghosts, and other things when she lived in America, and her study of magic and the occult. Bullying in Japan is brutal, rarely punished, and has been known to lead to futôkô , hikikomori or suicide. Kyoko had enough strength of will to avoid those fates, even if she did pick up some traits, such as an unhealthy addiction to roleplaying games, but it also left her with a strong desire to help those who were in similar distress, abused by those more powerful than they were. And it led her to being even more insular, and spending more time with her books and objects, such as when one of the antique stores she frequented had in some new items from Arabia. Fascinated, she looked through them all with interest, but one caught her eye. A bottle. A very pretty bottle, with the oddest decorations. Some seemed vaguely like what she had seen once in a book, but she could not quite remember what they were, or if they were exact. Still, it was pretty enough to buy, because even as a decoration, it was nice. Bringing it home, she found she did not have the book that she thought she had had, so could not look it up. Still, it was a nice decoration. Months later, she was able to find another copy of the book she had found before. And what was thrilling and frightening at the same time, there was a sketch of the bottle in the book, that looked remarkably similar to what she owned. She hastened to buy the book and hurry home. It took some time, but she found the section that detailed the symbols and their transliteration into Japanese. Holding the bottle in hand, she pronounced the words.

And at that moment, all things changed for her, and she was completely transformed. The bottle had been a genie bottle, and speaking the words tied it to her, and she became the genie of the bottle. However, it had not worked exactly as it should have. She had not spoken them in Arabic. She had used a Japanese translation, subtly different in pronunciation, and a bit off in form, all of which was vital. And so things had not quite worked out as they should have. She should have been tied to the bottle, to grant wishes to its owner, until able to trick or convince an owner to set her free. However, she was not so bound. She was free willed, and possessing cosmic powers beyond imagining. But there is always a price. Without the limiting tie to regulate it, the natural world rebelled. And the ground shook as if the earth itself rebelled against this most unnatural of things.

It was Higashi nihon daishin-sai, the great East Japan earthquake. Terrified by the shaking, and driven by passions, she willed herself away, and found herself in the bottle, as around her, the world shook and the tsunamis claimed all around. And she stayed that way until all was still again and she was finally able to determine how to will herself free once more.

The devastation was unfathomable, and her mother was among the lost, along with the nearly 18,500 others who perished or were lost from that tragedy. This was too much to bear, and she took her bottle, and wished herself away from everything. And suddenly she found herself in New York, the city she had lived in so long ago. Perhaps it was a sign, she thought, and she elected to start a new life here. Her bottle was practically a mansion on the inside, and money is easy to come by when you can conjure whatever you can imagine. Forming a new identity was also simply, a few applications of magic allowed her to create identification and other forms, or to convince the bureaucrats to help her obtain them.

Still, thoughts of what had happened ate at her. She felt guilt at what had happened, but was not consumed by it. She had had no way of knowing what would occur, and would not have done so if she had known. Of course, amends should be made, and now she had the ability to do so. So, she would use them to help those whom she could, and hopefully her mother would be proud.

Personality:
Kyoko has a good heart, and tries to help others however she can. She has an idealistic view of her efforts, and does not look at the long term consequences of her actions, as befitting someone who sees her actions through the filter of games. She can be quite naive at times and fail to see the bigger picture. She is also not above using her powers on people she feels are making fun of her, although in those situations she would do her best not to cause actual injury, even if she might pretend otherwise. What she really needs is some guidance or training on how to properly use her abilities to their fullest effects and to do so responsibly. Education is very important to her, and she attends school regularly, as it would have been a disappointment to her mother if she did not live up to her potential, although her potential is now far greater than it ever had been before.

Description:
Kyoko appears to be a Japanese girl of 16 years of age, standing 168 cm tall, and weighing about 57kg (5’6” and 126 lbs). Her hair is jet black and is worn long and straight. When on a mission, she will put it in a ponytail to keep it out of the way. She has bright green eyes, which are not usual for her ethnicity, but were easily attained with her powers. And given those powers, her appearance can also change as well. When on a mission, she will often add a few inches to appear more intimidating.

Hi Paul, it all looks fine. To be honest, when have you known me to sweat the details. But thanks for going to the trouble to match him up and what not. Can't believe we've got such a number of great players suddenly joining us, hopefully this will make it even better for you as much as it has for us.

Yesterday was a blowout as far as getting near a computer, unfortunately... Fingers crossed all updated tonight (getting ready for work otherwise I'd be on it now).

List o stuff to do:

Post up Kyokos' sheet
Tweak Red Dragon (I put in the 7AV 15EV on purpose and originally had 13AP Flame Project but dropped that down as it made the sword redundant. Perhaps meeting in the middle, with Dex 9 or weaponry at that level (melee weapons) at 9-10 will even it up some)
Put numbers into character creator for Stormbreaker
Have a look at The Haunt - Pretty sure there are a couple of things to tweak
Same with Lionheart - his power reserve needs two more abilities/powers adding or a refund of points
Update everyone

Also need to dig out character portraits - I've had the Haunt, have Silver Sentinel, Lionheart and Frostbite from the previous game, Kyoko has one so just need Stormbreaker and Red Dragon. Here is a character portrait thing or here

Fingers crossed I don't get a night like last night at work (wet through, smashed my knee on a dangling pipe, barely got finished on time without much of a break - meh, rough with the smooth and all that, given I was crowing about getting paid to play RPGs the night before - serves me right!)

Cheers, Paul

Having done a little research in BoH, turns out that Dee is correct. As written the 15 AP flame project still uses its own APs as AV.. however it describes such powers as a 'radiance' that works over 0 APs, or 10 feet in RWV(real world value). To have it work as a 'sword' it would need to also have the 'no AV' limitation, which might free up some points.

I'm rather liking the origins we are getting here. I've never seen the origin of our original players. You might want to stick them up here some day. So far, we have two crooks - one of them an ex-crook, the other a very reluctant ex-crook; one teenage girl who is responsible for the deaths of thousands; and some Indiana Jones guy running around with mystical talismans. Who said origins are stale and never very much? drunken

Alex literally made a moderate sized fortune doing the whole indiana jones thing before getting his powers, and for a little while after getting them. Then he retired and took to fighting demons and undead and the like, well and more run of the mill supervillans on rare occasion. He does however have mistrust. He blatantly runs around with an unsheathed sword, and he isn't exactly shy about property damage. And Stormbreaker (the sword) was made to fight evil, not protect the innocent so it doesn't have any backlash triggers. In fact it often promotes the most direct soloution to a given problem regardless of what might get damaged in the way. I anticipate this will cause some group friction to start with, kind of like the Hulk being in the Avengers Very Happy

Admin, you can likely hold putting up her character sheet until I make the changes, since I will be doing so. I believe I do know what I want to do for it. Should I send you the revisions, or do you want things to stay as is and make changes after this adventure?
Also thank you for the picture links. Those are interesting sites!

David, well, the earthquake could have been a coincidence... at least that is what Kyoko tells herself.

Dunecat, do not worry. Just as if any other criminal showed up, Kyoko is more than willing to turn you over to the police and banish the sword to another dimension so it no longer hurts anyone. Very Happy

Alternately, if that is the way the others are being developed, perhaps it would be best if I were to add Mistrust as well. Given her powers and the justifications made, it would not be wholly inappropriate, and also make things easier to believe when we do meet. (`Oh, you have been falsely accused ~too~? Smile )
Again though, I think Limelight works better for that effect, rather than Mistrust. Mistrust works best if authorities are seeking you and you are a fugitive because of it, Limelight works best if you're watched in awe/fear/desire/negative fame and have difficuties because of it. If there is no `bite' to Mistrust, if there is not an actual reason for them to want you brought in and consequences for if they do catch you, then it is simply not worth the 50 points as a drawback, as it does not hinder a character to that level.
