FROSTBITE
[Joe Rigdon]
I suggest you take the big guy Stormwarden, I?ll take our armoured friend.
Shall we?
OOC Paul are we carry on with initiative as rolled i.e. they get two frames first or are we re rolling for initiative? If we are here is my role: 3 Arghh:(
Actions
I'm remaining intangible and letting this guy go first to get a measure of him. I'll see what I do depending on my measure of him.

OOC only problem with that is that you attacked last round with your whip, which means you became tangible (dropped the intangibility in order to attack) so to become tangible again you'll need an action... And yeah, roll for initiative again.
Bad guys get... 1d10=10
The other thing it'll be useful to know is what combat responses your guys will make against these guys, with them winning intiative. You can decide after finding out if they hit (which will take longer) or let me know beforehand with a 'If struck by big guy physically, dodge, if struck by knight with sword, parry with <power> etc' so I can resolve it and post up. Your choice really, I will go at the speed you guys dictate

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
OOC +7 initiative means 4 frames to the villains
===========
The Eurotrash villains seem to confer briefly to each other and decide on targets. Frostbite is only a few metres away whereas Stormwarden is around 8m away, having run up to the hapless French speedster Vitesse and flattened him with a groundshaking hook to the jaw!
The darked garbed armoured warrior levels his sword at Frostbite and the fledgling hero sees the armour glow briefly, lightning play across its surface before it runs down the blade and unleashes as an energy blast at him!
===========
OOC Right now Invisible castle is down - Error 500 internal server error whatever that means? Anyway, I used the one at http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm The black knight fires a 10d6 (6d6htk/4d6htc) blast at Frostbite. Roll(1d20)+9:18,+9:Total:27 which heads, unerringly, straight for Frostbites face! He has only a fraction of a second to act! The dark knights second attack will depend on the combat response/result of his first attack... Frostbites response (if any?)
===========
Watching his team mate blast with deadly accuracy only a fraction of a second before, the big (make that 'huge') man garbed in grey turns his glowing eyes towards Stormwarden! Energy boils and erupts from his eyes and the big man hisses something, though it's lost in the noise as the energy surges out! ZEEEEACCCKKK!
===========
OOC The big man attacks Stormwarden with a 6d6htk/4d6htc attack. Roll(1d20)+9:1,+9:Total:10 Critical Miss! Roll(1d10)+0:7,+0:Total:7 Backfire! Roll(1d6)+0:5,+0:Total:5 htc damage, reduced by the big mans dividers...
===========
And... nothing happens. The armoured man glances at his comrade who shakes his head, seemingly clearing his vision. He blinked! Stormwarden can barely believe his good fortune before the angry German villain tries again! Once more his eyes boil with energy, and he tries to incinerate Stormwarden once more, albeit with a lesser powered blast! A pair of deadly beams shoots from the Germans' eyes and this time heads straight for the master of storms!
===========
OOC The big man attacks Stormwarden again this time with a 3d6htk/2d6htc attack. Roll(1d20)+9:11,+9:Total:20 This time the beam heads on target. Stormwardens' response?
CURRENT STATUS: Awaiting Frostbites response to being struck before the black knight acts with his last 2 frames. The big man has used all four frames, just need Stormwardens response to his second attack after his first messed up with the critical miss. The big man - Dominator - has used all 15d6 of his energy dice this round. He also took 5 htc damage reduced by his dividers to 1... The armoured man - Chevalier Noir - has used 10d6 of his energy so far and has 2 frames left to act based on what happens with his first attack.

Re: Archive: Stormwarden/Frostbite Issue #1
OOC OK well there doesn't seem to be an awful lot that I can do.
Option 1 is I go intangible as a reaction to 'dodge' the attack?
Option 2 is I try to parry the attack with my wind whip?
Option 3 is I try to dodge but with a dex of 10 I think my best option is to stand my ground and take it - do I really have another option that isn't a fudge???

Option 1 is I go intangible as a reaction to 'dodge' the attack?
Strictly speaking, this shouldn't work as a) you've never tried it before/practised it b) it's quite a hike in usefulness for the power so will need developing (but it's quite a realistic development so given time and practise will be feasible) HOWEVER this is a hero game, heroes do stuff in times of desperation, so... Here's your 'long shot'. You get a percentage chance equal to your ego to pull it off (1d100 equal to or less than your ego score). You can also boost your ego for the attempt by spending HTC. 1 HTC equals +1 point of ego for purposes of the check. Spend enough HTC on the 'supreme effort' and though it may stagger or stun you, it might just come off. Up to you whether you think its worth trying, and if there's a more specific rule in the book that gives you a better chance, I'm happy to go with that This is a fudge, but how many times in the comics have you seen Spider-Man/Just about anybody shout "Can't... give... up!" and with a supreme effort toss the mountain/bus/bomb/whatever to safety? To try this will cost your character. How dear it'll cost will be up to you, and have no massive chance of success unless you have huge HTC to soak up the effort... People like Hulk, Thor, Superman and so on tend to be better at doing really crazy stuff than weaker characters in my opinion. So fudgey Thorntons would bag it and put a bow on it for you.
Option 2 is I try to parry the attack with my wind whip?
This has a good chance of sucking up some of the damage - but your 3d6 stunner against a 10d6 blast will take up an action to parry and barely be worth it to reduce the incoming attack by 3d6. However, with your tough skin (dividers reduce it though ) you'll soak up a fair chunk. Your choice again...
Option 3 is I try to dodge but with a dex of 10 I think my best option is to stand my ground and take it - do I really have another option that isn't a fudge???
This one is pretty clear cut... Tough Skin Grade 2 means you can't dodge... HOWEVER... again, not so clear cut. You can stretch. Stretching will divide the damage by 2 automatically whether the dodge succeeds or not, in other words you don't dodge just stand there and stretch, absorbing the impact with your stretchy form. Just one problem - only against concussive attacks, which this isn't I typed all that out, re-read it and had to change it because of the 'can deform their body so that concussive attacks do less damage.'
By my reckoning to become intangible instantly using fudge (Option 1) without staggering you would give you a maximum 55% chance of success, and leave you wobbly on 10 HTC for the rest of the fight

OOC ok Its 6.28 am and I am needing to do some work before being out for a greater part of the day so I'll need to think this over later.
But it seems to me that this house rule (I also accept Kendal's amendment to which stat is used) is a good one. But back to this situation, the straight contest is between taking 27 htc damage undivided, or at least adding that on to an ego, then trying to roll under it on a percentage dice and if I succeed all good and well! But if I fail taking 27htc voluntarily and then taking the 27htc as well...result good night Frostbite. I'm not a gambler so I will just take it in this instance.
This is my one worry with random rolled characters there not easily well rounded...but hey that's what brings out the drama .
So I'm going to take the damage!
===========
Frostbite saw the charge coming and wanted desperately to move, grab something to parry or duck away but he knew his only option was to stand his ground.

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
OOC the 27 to which you refer was actually the 'to hit' (18 reqd) roll. Damage is 6d6Htk/4d6Htc, courtesy of Invisible castle (which is back up today )6d6=23, 4d6=13. Dividers reduce the Htk damage by 2 (reduced because of electricity attack on your tough skin) but the dividers are reduced below being useful on the Htc part, so total damage Frostbite takes is 11Htk 13Htc.
===========
Frostbite can't help but cry out in pain as lightning plays across his body. Every nerve ending is on fire and he feels as if he's white hot, that his blood is boiling! The sensation passes, leaving him with numb fingers and toes (though that too is receding quickly) and the hero still stands! Smoke coils in wisps about him, drifting away in the fog...
The Black Knight, seeing the desired effect (that of Frostbite going down) does not materialise, curses and levels the sword again. More electricity lances down its blade and unleashes towards the hapless hero!
===========
OOC Last 2 frames for the Black Knight. He uses his last 5d6 energy attack against Frostbite, split 3d6Htk/2d6Htc. I'm going to assume the same response (none) from Frostbite as the damage should be much less and his options are limited anyway. 1d20=16, 3d6=4, 2d6=6 And so it turns out. 16 is a hit, Htk damage is 4, divided by 2=2 additional Htk, 6Htc. So the total damage Frostbite has suffered this round from two energy attacks is 13Htk, 19Htc leaving him on 35Htk and 30Htc!
Just need to know Stormwardens response to the big mans successful second attack. If no response, I'll roll for damage then it's the heroes turn!
===========
Frostbite looks up to face his attacker, and gets another jolt, this time nowhere near as severe. Coupled with the first however, and the whole thing has left him a little shaken but not overly stirred. Whilst he wouldn't want to stand around letting these goons zap him all day he was rather surprised at how he'd held up in the face of thousands of volts!
One things for sure - these creeps aren't playing about! Those blasts would have killed an ordinary man!
Narrowing his eyes, Frostbite knows he's passed a major test - perhaps his first as a hero! There would be many more, of course, but for now it was time to do some testing - of the bad guys' jaws - himself!

Frostbite
(joe Rigdon)
Frostbite gathered himself together, there was no way this was going to be his swansong, not without a fight. "Ok my Eurasian friend, its time you felt a cold snap coming on.
With that Frostbite let loose his windwhip effect on the diabolical dark knight.
OK Frostbite gets 6, 6, 10 and 10
Which I guess against my armoured foe this ain't going to cut the mustard!

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
OOC With weaponclass 4 and a 6 added from DC (DC1-5 count as 6 to hit) your target number is 8. Add to that the WC+DC and you're looking for 18, so you answered your own question
============
Frostbite 'lashed' out with his whip (OOC *cough*) of wind at the armoured villain. Rather disconcertingly he made no attempt to avoid the blows, simply standing there at a slight angle with his shield facing Frostbite.
Which made it rather hard to get around and actually strike at the foe!
Two struck near the shield without effect, others partially scraped past, but Frostbite had a sinking feeling that he might need to try a different tactic against the armoured foe...
============
OOC No combat response, he's rather confident in the defence (shield and armour) that he has. Roll for damage.

First roll is 7 second is 12
I'll have to think about another tactic, hmmm not easy as I don't have a lot of punch packed!

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
OOC Both damage rolls stop short of penetrating the Black Knights shield, never mind his armour, unfortunately...
===========
With contempt, the Black Knight simply bats the wind tendrils away, one after the other, then says something (in German) to his large companion, who laughs out loud.
With the fog still draped over the place, the weather was cool but the battle only just hotting up. Curiously enough the terrorists on the roof had stopped firing en masse, but every now and again there would be sporadic gunfire, and a cry of pain.
===========
OOC Just waiting on Stormwardens response to being struck (dodge/parry/something else) so I can resolve damage (or otherwise) then his 4 frames/attacks before we can proceed to the next round. For Frostbite it's been a mixed bag. Though he took a bit of a beating he's still alive and kicking. He couldn't return the favour though which means the bad guys are still unscathed. Will there be yet another twist in this tale that breaks the deadlock? (Answer - yes!) - Edited - didn't want to look like I was shouting after I re-read it :S

Stormwarden had the earlier warning and moved, piroutting in mid air in an attempt to avoid the worst of the energy blast that was coming towards him. From there he twisted and dove straight into the hulking foreigner in front of him, steeling himself for the impact and fists aflying as he tried to land blow after blow.

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
OOC Glad you're back Though I'll admit the game has been fast paced so far with there only being two of you I thought it was an unusually long time to have silence from you Kendal
Right, a few bits...
1) The Dodge - this is going to cost you an action to try. It's your call. The glancing blow means you'll take half of the incoming damage, or use up an extra frame (dodge (glancing blow) uses up 2, dodge (full) will take 3 frames). Which option you wanna take? That'll affect the rest of your actions...
2) Charge into combat is an action - one to move one to attack. All depends on how many frames you used in option 1)
3) The Martial arts look to be out this round based on what you do in 1) and 2) Of course, there is still a way you get a few licks in - by not dodging. That's your call

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
Stormwarden had a moments indecision. He'd seen his new friend cry out as electricity played all over him, but to his credit had stood his ground and was still on his feet, fighting. 'Well if he can do it so can... *WHUFF!*' he just about gets the thought out when he's struck by the big mans second attempted blast at the fledgling hero.
==========
OOC 3d6Htk=11, 2d6Htc=3 reducing Stormwarden to 68Htk/75HTC. Wasn't so bad Stormwarden has been lucky this round with one failed (critical miss) attack and a weak second attack.
==========
Stormwarden grits his teeth and soars down at speed. The fog parts before him and closes behind with no trace of his passing and the dim view he'd had of the big man grows larger in his vision. With a target this big - and it was beginning to look like the man dwarfed even Stormwarden! - how could he miss?
The answer was, he couldn't.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! CRACK!
The sound of his high speed flight tearing down sound like a bomb dropping to those near by.
The fist on the end like a bomb landing!
==========
OOC Took the liberty of rolling damage for your strike. You got 20 - critical hit so 2d6+6htc +5 from flight +18 from strength to Htc (presumably). We get Critical 1d10=1, Htc2d6+29=36, Htk1d6=6.You must spend the next frame recovering from a charge (so it's one to move, one to strike one to recover) according to SQUK rules (I always thought it was 1 action, move/attack but maybe it was always like that in GH?) Anyway, that's my mistake and your critical hit roll was near hopeless so this one time only (never to be repeated special deal!) it's 2 frames
That makes both martial arts rolls up next. Damage 1st attack 2d6=4htk, 1d6+18=21htc, 2nd attack 2d6=5htk, 1d6+18=20htc. No mention of whether you add damage to Htk or Htc so I've added it to your biggest attack. From the looks of him the big guy can more than take a few hits, so it's not going to be an issue for a few rounds what you do to him... In any case he stands firm against the blows. Total damage delivered to big bad guy? 77Htc 15Htk no doubt reduced by dividers...AMENDED to add damage bonus to Htc
==========
Stormwarden didn't stop to reflect that his blow had torn the big mans mask away from his face and whipped his head round, causing him to slide back a couple of metres on the rubble despite bracing himself. He sprung up, spun on a heel and delivered one... crack! two... thoom! Super strong karate kicks against the chin as well! The big mans' head flicked this way, that, and then the other way again, and Stormwarden can see he's dug into the earth/rubble around and slightly standing with one leg to the rear.
What happens next is a bit surreal. "Nice hits." he said, rubbing his chin. "For a little man!" and only then does Stormwarden realise this guy is nearly a foot taller than him! Then the big guy seems to notice his mask has been torn completely off! "Wha... my.. my mask!" he says in accented English, and seems panicked that his face - though obscured by fog - may be revealed to the world! There's nothing particularly striking about it... but there may be if revealed on German television screens back in his homeland?
===========
OOC End of the round. Mixed bag for the heroes. The guys they face are obviously bricks and will take a concerted effort to bring each one down, being as tough as they are! Or some thinking 'outside the box'... There is also the commotion on the roof with sporadic gunfire and screaming to take into account. Your dark clad friend, perchance..?
Roll for initiative next round. The bad guys get...1d10=6 initiative
Kendal - let me know how you want to add your damage bonus (to Htk or Htc) for this round (Htk, keep as it is, if Htc will change) and for future rounds.

Frostbite
[Joe Rigdon]
ooc Don't know if Kendal is able to read this but I can so I'm jumping in with Initiative and rolling:7 which is a single frame I believe.
IC:
"Stormwarden, I think we need to concentrate our attacks." Frostbite called out, not sure how he might be able to do that in the light his attacks being warded off.
Actions:
I'll go intangible in this frame - I cannot find reference to how many frames it takes to do this? So I am assuming at least one unless you rule otherwise, in which case I'll hold the frame till the bad guys have had their go.

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
OOC without any specific reference that says otherwise, I'll always assume the use of a superpower to be 1 action UNLESS it's movement or attack style powers which are usually 1 frame. I think with my intangible character in the Lore Knights (Wraith) it was always an action to kick off the fun then he had his merry way ignoring damage dividers but every attack (use of the power) was an action. I'll check. Yup, Action to use intangibility. I think it's because it's providing defence and an additional ability - move through objects, in higher grades, attack etc. Weather control will be an action too, and so on.
With that in mind I'll assume you hold the frame.

Stormwarden
[Guy St Ives]
Hoo boy! This one was a toughy all right. But he was taller so.. and without much of a thought Stormwarden summoned in the thickest band of fog he could, leaving a clear band from his eyes down but above him, and covering the entire head of the behemoth he'd just been fighting. Stormwarden could see his body, but the german would have to bend down to see him - which would seriously unbalance him.
-----------------------------------
[size=8pt]ooc - You may be right on the dive to attack, which is probably why it allows the double attack at the end of it. Can't find the recovery part in the rules but I agree - thats what we used to do.
Stormwarden will, if dealing with people, always apply HTC as primary damage.
And, assuming its our call, and, as I understand it, we are all close enough, then Stormwarden will apply all the next four attacks (unless you deduct one to reflect a difference in my use of the weather power) to assaulting the black knight. I am assuming that he is not blinded by the level fog I have just put up.

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
OOC Stormwarden - your use of the weather control (to create a near blinding fog) is an action, leaving two attacks for you to execute. You may want to revise that if you're struck... Till then I will assume both of you are holding your frame till the Villains have acted. Funny thing with super get togethers though, you never know who will crash the party...
==========
The big man does something totally unexpected. He turns and starts scrabbling about in the fog and rubble strewn on the floor for his mask!
"What the...?" Utters the Black Knight. "You idiot! Get back here! We need to get these two out of the way before any others show..."
He's cut off by another high pitched whistling sound, then by the sound of a megaphone bellowing across the area. The one doing the shouting is obscured by the fog surrounding the area and the darkness.
"...thing on? Yes? I SAY YOU CHAPS! THIS IS AGENT 71, OF SMITE HERE. I'M JUST GIVING YOU BOUNDERS NOTICE THAT WE'RE NOT TAKING ANY OF YOUR NONSENSE AND WE'RE COMING IN TO KICK YOUR COLLECTIVE ARSES, WHAT? YOU ARE ALL ENEMIES OF THE STATE, AND IF WE WEREN'T IN A POPULATED AREA YOU CAN BALLY WELL BELIEVE WE'D BE BOMBING YOU BACK TO THE STONE AGE RIGHT ABOUT NOW! SO COME OUT, WITH YOUR MASKS OFF AND POWERED DOWN. OR ELSE!"
"You English..." snickers Black Knight, though he's looking about right now. "Let's get on with it then..."
He lunges forwards with his sword to strike at Stormwarden (OOC Frostbite is 8m away if I recall). Holding his shield high, and using the sword with no small skill he attempts to slice n dice the fledging hero into ribbons!
==========
OOC The big man (Dominator) is off looking for his mask...He moves two frames, not going far but searching as he goes, finds his mask and puts it on - in a fashion - and makes his way back to where Stormwarden and Chevalier Noir are fighting.
Which leaves the Black Knight slashing at Stormwarden. Lucky last time out, this time Stormwarden is less so... Rolls to hit:1d20+4+6=14 (miss), 1d20+4+6=21 (hit), 1d20+4+6=30 (hit, critical), 1d20+4+6=27 (hit) Combat Response? You're looking at 3 hits, one of which is critical. Each dodge will take one of your frames up.
==========
The Big Man stumbles back, his mask held on by shoving it roughly under the rest of it which is still intact. It mostly does its job, but is lop sided.
He sees his team mate slashing at Stormwarden then looks about in the air, but can't see anything. "You hear something...?" he mutters.
==========
OOC Pending Stormwardens combat responses, otherwise Dave/Frostbite feel free to post up your actions. Kendal/Stormwarden you may need to post revised actions int he light of weather control needing an action and any possible dodges. No reply form me till the early hours of the morning. Off to work

[Joe Rigdon]
"Good move with the fog mate" Frostbite said to Stormwarden seeing how he was being attacked though he didn't hang around, going intangible he then shot forth the jet stream of cold air practically like lightening fast blasts of cold air snake like at the knights unprotected back.
Actions
1 action intangible
1 frame whip attack
1 frame whip attack
roll 1 18 damage 15
roll 2 12 if hit damage 9

STORMWARDEN and FROSTBITE
OOC I'll roll for Stormwardens dodges. 1d6+2=6, 1d6+2=3, 1d6+2=4 All Glancing blows, so you take half damage from each.
The first one you can elect to avoid completely by using up your last remaining frame this round but with it being divided by 2 I'll assume you take the glancing blow and get to use at least 1 frame this round to attack.
Damage from the strikes that were all glancing blows is 2d6+5=10htk, 1d6+5=9Htc of which the dodge reduces it to 1htk 9Htc,Critical hit 1d10=5 (Strike hand. You cannot use that hand for 1d6=1 round), 2d6+5=16Htk, 1d6+5=6Htc which the dodge reduces to 5htk 6htc and 2d6+5=13Htk, 1d6+5=7Htc which the dodge reduces to 3htk 7Htc.
Stormwarden [Guy St Ives]
Stormwarden wasn't liking this. Swords he'd faced in the past - and then they'd just been blunts and able to hurt like hell. A sharp was something else entirely. Instinctively he shrank away and tried to avoid the worst of the hits.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
ooc
Stormwarden dodges what he can.
What all the gobbledigook means is that you take 1+5+3 (9) Htk and 9+6+7 (22) Htc and can't use your hand (I'll assume left, don't think it matters) for the next 4 frames.
Stormwarden is now on 59Htk and 53Htc.
He has one frame to attack with this round and one hand is out of commission for this frame and 3 others of next round.
For the record Frostbite is on 35Htk and 30Htc
==========
The Black Knight is impressed. "You move fast for a beeg man, non?" Then he sees the wounds opening up, trickling blood down Stormwardens chest, and the armoured man gives a chuckle. "But not fast enough I sink..."
On Stormwardens part, though the sword slashes hurt like paper cuts with vinegar poured in them, he knew they should have been much much worse. Each of those blows would have killed a normal person, no question about it. And though he felt roughed up some, there was plenty of fight still left in him. It almost prompted him to ponder 'What the heck happened to me that made me so much more than what I was?' but of course, thinking too long in the heat of combat might get him killed!
Despite the pain he prepared to deal out a little punishment of his own...
==========
OOC Stormwarden 1 frame to act. I presume Martial Arts attack but you may have something else in mind?
==========
Frostbite lashed out with his wind tendril hoping that the armoured man would be vulnerable seeing as he faced Stormwarden. Sure enough the whip snaked out, lashing the Black Knight from behind!
"Face eet big man. You are feenished! You must... Arggggh!" cried the Frenchman as the whips lashed at his back. Though protected by armour the unique nature of the weapon Frostbite wielded appeared to ignore the armour, finding cracks and crevices where normally there would be none!
==========
OOC Thanks to the damage dividers of your whip the Black Knight is finally hurt! Chevalier Noir takes the full 24Htc damage from your attacks. Your intangibility must come after your attacks - you can't attack whilst intangible.
==========
With that Frostbite became insubstantial, becoming an almost mistlike form of himself!
"You weel pay for zat!" yelled Chevalier Noir, clearly not being used to actually suffering bodily harm!
"Do you... hear.. something?" said the big man next to him.
"Weel you *&^$%*^%$ shut up about vot you can eer? And eet zem!" yelled Chevalier Noir, clearly rattled!
==========
OOC As mentioned, to complete the round just one frame worth of action from Stormwarden then initiative. For next round (after Stormwardens last action this round) the bad guys get...1d10=1 initiative. Bear in mind with Frostbite intangible he won't be able to attack until he becomes solid again! On the flip side if the bad guys attack him they won't have much luck...

Although the entirity of his hand felt numb, it wouldn't stop him lashing out, and he did so, planting a solid blow into the Black Knight. These cuts may hurt alright but it wasn't the Black Knight he was bothered about, but rather whatever the behemoth was listening to that was beginning to niggle him. Whatever, he had to concentrate on here for the time being.

OOC I agree why they don't have a dice roller is annoying especially as it would be easier to link. Also I don't mind reading just the results of the rolls, I also liked it Paul when you included the results of HTC/HTK that round for both of us as this is a good point to remind us where we are at.
Can I ask another quick question, if I cannot attack whilst intangible, how long does it take to switch it off - if it takes an action to became intangible does it take an action to become tangible? (I can't find anything in the rules on this - but I've got the originals and several different versions floating around so the finer points are easier to miss).
ok...Here is the roll for initiative...3
Ok so not great either...again I will hold my frame and see what happens.

Stormwardens attack Critical 1d10=4 (Strike leg, movement halved for 2 rounds), 2d6=8Htk, 1d6+18=21Htc With his shield and dividers Chevalier Noir takes no Htk and 7Htc, taking the total damage dealt to him to 31Htc, this round alone! Furthermore the strike on his own shield jams it down into his knee, and sparks are seen flying from the knee joint, electricity playing about its length.
==========
Stromwarden spun on his heel, moving fluidly and quickly for such a big man. Doubtless that would surprise a few foes in the future! The Black Knight though, was a seasoned combatant and moved his shield to block. With mixed results. "I see what... aiiiyah!" he cries. The shield absorbed the majority of the blow but jammed downwards with the force of the blow into his armours knee joint!
It was immediately apparent that the leg armour had seized below the knee. Even if only temporary, it gave the Black Knight real manoeuvrability problems - assuming the Big man didn't spoil things, the fledgling heroes felt sure that at least one of them could blindside him, with some clever moves!
==========
OOC Next round. The heroes have one frame to act before the villains have their four frames. Frostbite is holding his frame. Stormwarden?
==========
The screaming sound - like the rush of air from a bomb dropping, or a sonic boom from some distance away, is getting much much closer now.
Then, entirely unexpected, and quietly through the fog, another person drops down to the floor to land gently, some 5m away!
"Wondered what all the fuss was about. I don't know who any of you are but it's hell out there unless you haven't... Chevalier Noir? So... we meet again!" he adds with a grin, eyes narrowing.
"Yeoman!" yells the black Knight, turning to face this newcomer. From the tone of voice neither of them much like the other.
"Time for round 4? Though I suspect if we don't get out of here we'll all end up in the clink!" quips the newcomer in an Essex accent. "Then again, that's where you belong Frenchy. How about I help you along to a stay at her majesties pleasure, eh?"
The Big Man pipes up "This plan is going to hell in a hand basket!" in accented german (OOC think Ranier Wolfcastle off the Simpsons )
==========
OOC Stormwarden to act or save frame, then the bad guys turn. What your characters make of the newcomer, you might well want to post up...

Can I ask another quick question, if I cannot attack whilst intangible, how long does it take to switch it off - if it takes an action to became intangible does it take an action to become tangible? (I can't find anything in the rules on this - but I've got the originals and several different versions floating around so the finer points are easier to miss).

OOC When you want to 'drop' a power, it's instant. Might be an idea to drop powers such as flight when you're on the ground... I'm not sure where it specifies (the more I read the GH/SQUK rules I thik 'that bit there could do with a polish' but far be it from me to tell Simon what does and doesn't need doing!) but I run that when a power is activated, it's active without cost to a characters frames. So if you're flying, and decide to hover in place, you still hover, just move 0m. To move costs a frame, and so on. Basically like standing in place but in the air.
So Frostbite will remain intangible until he drops the power, Stormwardens weather control will remain in effect until he disperses it or changes it, or prevailing conditions outside the area affect it, or he's rendered unconscious. At grade 3 only catastrophic or some greater degree of weather control could shift it without his preventing it. Not likely.
