My posting rate...

In case anyone was wondering, I'm being stiffed by work this week with 12 hour shifts spilling over into 14 hour killers. Coupled with conjunctivitis, lack of sleep, headaches, sciatica and it's not much fun here at the moment. The light at the end of the tunnel is Friday which is only a 6 hour shift so I will promise to catch up.

Other than that, hope you're all enjoying the weather!

Still catching up. Had no internet all morning, then kids in the afternoon. Got internet back (100mb, woot!) but run out of time again as usual. I'll be caught up by tomorrow at some point (on call at work) then off for the rest of the week, which is nice, so we'll see the Lore Knights game and Vanguard games updated too. Also bringing Anyman back into the fold and wrapping things where required to move the Vanguard to the next challenge. More later today (it's past midnight and am up at 5am...)

Will do what I can tonight (got about an hour after putting kids to bed then up at 3am) and finish updates tomorrow. I will be 'jumping' battles to their logical conclusions so as to avoid dragging them out, but won't leave anyone feeling short changed.

I'm AWAY from Thursday Afternoon (3rd May) to Sunday night (6th May) on a trip to Benidorm (forgotten the occasion. Someones birthday I think) and have been trying to grow a moustache to complete the look of horrific Hawaiian shirt, very short shorts, white pumps and mirror sunglasses. Yes, it's Magnum PI but will probably look like someone from only fools and horses instead. Boycey. (See inset picture)



If all else fails, I have my mankini to fall back on. Best not to go there though since after my car accident I've not managed to keep up my exercises. It's all gone.. south...

Anyway, will PM a reminder on Thursday morning and thanks for all your patience chaps. The cold is finally over the worst I think, but a trip to the Doctors today confirmed my car crash injury is actually worse than I thought, and won't be better in weeks, more like months... When the Doctor was tweaking and twisting one leg, all was fine. Moved to other leg, I yelped and was drenched in a cold sweat, ouch, ouch, ouch...

Updates (hopefully) tonight. Just about to hit sack for a night shift. Spent my posting time ( ) on the phone to various Broadband/TV providers playing one off against the other for the best deal. Ended up with 100mb broadband (up from 10mb), unlimited telephone calls (instead of paying through the nose - my phone bill is ridiculous at the minute thanks to wife and her mother) and the same tv package for £20-30 a month less, which is nice. Felt a bit cruel, making the people on the other end of the phone try their best as you screw the deals out of them, then dash their hopes after you sound positive. Worst was the mobile broadband woman from Delhi. Had her going back to her supervisor so often I was tempted to say "Just put him on". Ended up with twice the usage per month for same price when they wanted to up the price, put me on a new contract for 18-24 months and sell me something I didn't want. Just played hardball, mentioned the word 'cancel' after seeming to mull over every better offer until they came up with this one. They still make a profit, I get what I want (no fixed contract, double data usage for same price, which is already discounted to 50% of what I should be paying) and everyone's happy Well, aside form the fact I spent 3 hours+ on the phone... Anyway, updates (hopefully) later at work and when I get home. Thanks for your patience all.

Quick heads up -probably be no update today because I'm off to bed in -18 minutes (yeah, should have been in bed 18 mins ago) to get up just before midnight to go to work. After that, updates every day - the kids back at school and life returns to normal. Yay! Been absolute torture these last few weeks. At least when I'm sat on a train I'm not being pestered constantly...

Back up to speed tonight (Sunday). Wife went out last night which means I get stuck with the kids. Joy

On another note I have 2 weeks off from today, so even if you guys are busy over christmas and can't get on to update, I'll be getting stuck into the Lore Knights rules. Think of them as a streamlined cut down house ruled version of the DC heroes game. If that works out ok (I plan to run several games at various power levels) we'll see about writing characters up for the Vanguard game and trying that out. Plenty of testing and tweaking before that happens though, and the GH rules set may still better serve us with more houseruling, so I'm still open to options.

Apologies, might be a bit flakey over next day or so. Had a 12 hour shift today that ground me down, yesterday I used my 'posting time' to write up some rules I want to try for the Lore Knights. If they work there, may well transfer the main game to them as well. Anyway, I intend to move us on to the conclusions of the various mini storylines in the next week and a half, so that when the slowdown inevitably comes (Xmas etc) there's nothing left hanging. Well, that's the plan, but this is no railroad, so don't be surprised if it doesn't quite work out like that

Had the cataract surgery last Monday. Hard to read since I do not have the new eye glass prescription yet. Have to sit here and close one eye to read and it is a strain. See the doctor tomorrow to get the new prescription and should have the new glasses next week. Will try to post something in the next day or so.

As mentioned in the last post, today (monday, I missed Sunday ) and tuesday will be slow/non existent for updates. If all goes well Tuesday i will post Tuesday night, but I'm expecting a rough day - can't get my head into revision. Probably still too wasted from last week and the kids have driven me nuts today. Last chance saloon for cramming tomorrow, so have to stay away the computer, TV and all other distractions! Wish me luck! (And apologies for the delay)

Looks like I'm lagging behind with the update. Will be done tonight all being well. Been on night shifts this week and today was a killer, 12 hours after about 3 hours sleep. After wednesday next week things should be smoother at my end - I have my bi annual exams at work (so I can continue being a train driver) then a medical to get through. Not done any revising for the first (cramming tomorrow and monday) and for the second I'm a physical wreck thanks to naff all sleep this week Still, could be worse, like... uhm...

Should we have a separate posting thread for when we use our group mental telepathy? Unless we have gained the ability to be selective in who receives our messages, a separate thread where all the mental messages go might be nice and make it easier to know if we should or even could respond or break into someone else's mental conversation.

Had a rough day at work but wangled a 'deal' to shorten tomorrows shift so I can move things on some. Downside is instead of 12 hours rest I get 9 then get to go back to work, upside is should be home by dinnertime so expect updates around then tomorrow. Thanks as usual for patience!

Arggh. Today (Sunday) my car decides to kill it's turbo That means this week I'll be running about getting bits and my beleaguered bank account will be crying out in protest (ah heck, an overdraft is there to be used, right?). Anyway, it'll mean taxis or going to work on the motorbike, neither of which is particularly palatable, until I can get the car sorted, and in turn, my free time gets gobbled. Never rains but it pours etc... And here I was taking the piss out of my mates car (which, incidentally has never broken down or stranded him) and i suppose I have 'poetic justice' visited on me. D'oh. Thanks for your patience as usual...

Finally got shut of everyone (Sunday night) been an exhausting weekend, mind! My 'party' yet I managed to somehow be some kind of waiter/slave for doling out drinks and food to everyone, and generally running around like a dogsbody... and it cost me $100 (this yank keyboard has no pound signs... *sigh*) as well! Oh Dave sorry to hear about this mate, I hope it goes well. From what I understand its fairly straight forward these days, unless you've got some nasty complicated version of it. 2.0 sort off ;-)

Sent out messages to every I game with on all the other groups but no one seems interested. Have a friend who works at a bookstore who is interested but just doesn't have time to do it with family, work and trying to start a publishing company of his own.

Appreciated as ever Paul. Hope week works out ok, as does the recovery today ;-)
