• VEST [/BODY/ 08, Partial (vest)]. Here is a sample of what Doc packs in the vest-
o Glass-walled anesthetic gas grenades the size of robin’s eggs.
o High power explosive grenades the size of ball bearings.
o Lock-picking tool set.
o Silk line & rubber-coated grappling hook.
o Hypodermic kit including truth serum vials.
o Smoke grenades.
o A pouch which contains a pencil-thin collapsible periscope which can be converted into either a telescope or a microscope by switching accessory lenses. With lenses removed it also can be used as an underwater snorkel.
o Fog bombs that deposit a dust that emits a green glow when exposed to ultraviolet light.
o Chalk that writes invisibly but becomes visible when exposed to ultraviolet light.
o A vial of red solution that resembles blood
• He can be assumed to have the above as well as 8 AP AC Omni-Gadgets(x4) hidden on his person.
• Superfirer machine pistol [BODY 04, AV 05, EV 05, Range: 05, Ammo 10, Q#3, Ammo was color coded and had “Mercy” bullets that could do Bashing damage).
OK, took Writeup.org's write up of Doc Savage and trimmed it a bit. He is still an extremely expensive street level hero but not as much as Doc Savage or Batman would be. Got rid of Gadgetry and had him buy his equipment instead. He can handle a small group of street thugs but would be hard pressed to handle an entry level supervillain.
Doc Wylde does not have Aides or Sidekicks. Instead the group that gathers around him are like-minded adventurers, coming and going as they please. Having their own bases as well. So they are their own individual heroes who might call on the others for help. He just happens to have the neatest and biggest HQ to gather around so that's where at least 2 or 3 can be found most times. So the news folks mistakenly call it the main HQ of Justice, Inc. - which is what the group Doc Wylde is a part of, call themselves.
Based off of the aides and allies of the original Pulp heroes such as the Shadow, Doc Savage, the Avenger, the Black Bat, the Green Lama and others, these adventuring heroes would include but are not limited to:
A world renown chemist
A world renown electronics specialist
A world renown lawyer
A world renown Archeologist
A world renown Geologist
A world renown computer expert/hacker
A world renown Engineer[s] with varying types of Engineering degrees
A wanted criminal who uses his status as a criminal to gather information on the underworld to report to the others
An actor who is also a master of disguise
A chauffeur who happens to be an ex-boxer and/or ex-special forces
A butler who happens to be an ex-combat medic
An ex-fighter pilot
An ex-multi-engine pilot
A mechanic with a number of patents for various vehicles
A world renown Private Eye
A world renown Stage Magician
A world renown Gambler
A world renown ex-cat-burglar.
An ex-mercenary
and others

Re: Miss Victory's Husband
Looks like somebody who could adventure on his own... At some point if you want to have Miss V running about on Ultrahumans business we can do a challengers of the unknown type adventure...
Can't condone adventures with him AND her though - too many points, unpaid for! Remember that being married is a drawback in game terms (far be it from me to say it extends beyod that ...) so really the character needs to be the equivalent of a damsel in distress, unable to help out in any way other than to make the characters' life harder...
I would agree that he would be a smart guy, well educated in great shape for an ordinary person but the peak of physical power, Batman/Doc Savage level? Hmmm...

Re: Miss Victory's Husband
Yep he is a disad, for a superhero world. Further more, it is a secret marriage. Even his own people don't know he is married to her. He is just a capable disad, like Steve Trevor was when he was used correctly in Wonder Woman. Steve, as a trained soldier and intelligence operative, was more than capable of fighting at Wonder Woman's side. He, like many a sidekick, would and can take on one or two of the minor foes and win, while Wonder Woman took on the big bad. If 3 or 4 minor foes took on Steve, he might get swamped and need Wonder Woman to help him out, hence being a disad. Or the big bad would attack him and knock him out and capture him to use against Wonder Woman.
A 500 point powered character should be able to take him down with some effort. But for a street level game, he would be quite effective.
Too bad the game designers didn't put married in the advantage slot too, though I guess aide or sidekick might qualify. Something tells me that they were prejudiced over "married"
I actually envisioned their marriage for the disad pts as what happening now, he gets involved in some super stuff instead of the usual street level stuff and needs her help.
And also "slice of life" subplot stuff, like they make a date to see each other and one of them cancels at the last minute or is a no-show because an adventure gets in the way. Or they actually make the date, going in disguise, and it hits social media that one of the most eligible bachelors in town is dating a mysterious woman and who is she, what's their relationship, etc. Or they get swamped at their date by fans of Doc. Or one of them stumbles into the fight scene of the other and gets involved either on the side, like Doc helping with the nearby wounded while Miss Victory is fighting, or getting caught up in it, like Dr. Veronica Chase is out shopping when Doc and his friends fight a secret crime group right in front of her as she leaves the store and she might get grabbed as a hostage and she has to pretend to be "normal" during the fight. None of this would be worth much in HP, except maybe roleplaying HP, but help to round out the characters.
Really about the only time that they can see each other is when Doc disguises himself and meets Victoria for a date or heads over to her home or Dr. Chase has some news to report to Doc Wylde and they spend a few minutes unobserved in his office for some kissing and hugging. Which in a way is kind of an unhealthy marriage or at least very stressful, much like a spouse who has a husband in the military and they are overseas a lot on dangerous deployment for long periods of time. Takes a kind of special strength to survive that kind of marriage. One of my brothers' spouse had it, the other didn't and divorced him.
This current adventure being the "first time" that the hero and Doc have met, does open up the possibility that Miss Victory could use him as a now public point of contact and point of help when it comes to things she isn't good at for the future, such as detective stuff, understanding any gadgets she gets her hands on, a quick call for some information, etc. And ... the media presuming that Doc is now dating Miss Victory, meaning Victoria would now be jealous of herself as Miss Victory for the time she spends with her man.
