OOC Choice of targets. Steep will have to get up close and personal. You have 5 attack dice this round from surprise. Maybe... Multi attack and crit blow on all three (bear in mind that difficulty though. You'd need a double...)

OOC: Multi attack and crit blow it is then...all on attack nothing to defence, I realise this is kind of dangerous, but its an all or nothing sort of situation.

Seeing how well Haunt did with The Thin Man, Steeplejack sought to capitalise on the surprise by attacking before the others could react. He only hoped he hadn't inadvertently bitten off more than he could chew.

Steeplejack was pleased that he'd connected but decided that with Haunt and himself now able to face these three together, he'd best focus his efforts on the faceless monstrosity first, whilst Haunt could have play with the other two.  

Leaping in, kicking high, Steeplejack used his incredible agility to land a solid blow to take the creature out of the picture and quickly.  

OOC: OK so go for 3 attack 2 defence and see if we can do some damage here.

Steeplejack delivered a series of punches and kicks to the monstrosity and hoped it would fall... but the creature roared in anger and stood, albeit with a few dents in its slimy hide!

OOC Steep is a superb fighter but with 11 Str it may be worth considering a strength boost next time you get some points!

Steeplejack sees the way Haunt is swiping the other guys and decides to add a little banter to the proceedings.
 
"Haunt what are you doing man, sleeping walking through this fight, come on finish them easy pickings off and give me a hand here!"
Steeplejack using his superior speed and agility leaps at the faceless monstrosity again, "I'm sorry this might hurt, actually I'm not sorry at all!"

The only sound is roaring of sewer water and the shuffling of the mind controlled drones as they crate boxes of ammunition up to set aside which others pick up and toss into the escape torrent of sewer water leading to the river...

Start digging out the time stones from their bodies.  Then look around and see if there is some kind of control panel or wand or something that might release these mind controlled slaves.

Steeplejack moved over to the people, "I want to see if I can get these off without harming their victims. Keep an eye out last time I saw people like this there was a floating brain in a sort of invader from Mar's like robotic exo-suit."

And with that using his highly developed skills as a thief and his somewhat rudimentary knowledge of medicine he sought to see if he could remove the headsets from one of the people without harming them, the others or himself.

Haunt takes the time to dig the time stones - mere fragments really - from the unconscious Aliens and looked about for whatever was controlling these people.

There was nothing which made Haunt wonder if the creature Steeplejack described might be controlling all the various slaves across this city. Taking that out would surely free these people he figured.

Steeplejack looked to the drone like people. They responded to no stimuli and the hero knew his Medicine skill of Surgery would be required - these people were hardwired! the wires stretched into their skulls and he knew simply ripping the wires from the head would result in a fatal brain injury!

"Got to get these time fragments out of range," the Haunt tells Steeplejack. "Maybe that will help break the spell they are under. I'll meet you back at the crossroads so we can take out the eggs and the monsters guarding them."

Haunt moves quickly through the sewer, trying to get as far as he thinks he needs to go to have the stones no longer keep the aliens here, and goes a bit further. Then he comes back to the crossroads to see what news Steeplejack can give him.

With Haunt gone to sort out the time stones, Steeplejack investigated the rest of the scene. He took time to examine the place for any clues or any evidence of what and where or how this might all be part of a greater scheme. He wasn't at all sure how they were going to preserve the timeline but anything that could help, helped.

Then having done what he could, he went to meet up with Haunt where they'd agreed, before heading on to the final place, where the literal brains of this operation seemed to be working from.

Steeplejack found mounds of boxes of ammunition for AK47s. Rough made, quickly probably and with Victorian era manufacturing processes and machines but still worrying nonetheless.

That Aliens from the future could come back in time and upset the natural order of things in this way was worrying indeed. The crates were packed with inflated plastic packing that would allow the crates to float despite the weight. Plastic wouldn't be invented for years. They had no respect for the timeline and any war involving these weapons would quickly fall in the direction of the wielders.

That left the question of what to do with them. Finding a quarry and blowing them up would be the best bet. Also the question of who had the ammunition and when and where they planned to use it would have to be addressed. The automaton like citizens continued to steadily pack then seal the crates and set them down into the stream which ran (eventually) into the river...

He moved through the corridor to meet up with his companion. Dare he call him friend, yet?

The pair of heroes sneaked down the narrow/shallow corridor/tunnel that got increasingly warmer. So much so steam rose from the floor and the brick walls were lukewarm to the touch.

The tunnel, though still narrow, had been chipped away, widened, carved with some powerful tool. It was roughly uniform but no machine had done this.

Haunt and Steeplejack continued to move through the murk and emerged - finally - into an area where roaring water from the river combined with the sludge to thin it out.

All around the place on several ledges were ... eggs? Foot high and almost a foot across, they glistened yellow and were covered in a kind of slime. Dozens of eggs. And something else. He saw creatures in the darkness, distant pinpricks of light from the gas lit streets above shining down.

Four... five of these things.

The Haunt pointed to himself and then Steeplejack and then the closest monster, indicating that the two of them should team attack it to find out just how tough these things would be.  He waited to see if Steeplejack agreed.

OOC: Dave knows better than me whether team attack is better or go for multi attack etc. SO I will follow his lead, but dice as before 3/2 and go with Crit blows as the difficulty factor is in play as well.

Can we do team attack/multi-attack at the same time? If so, then leave it all on attack. If not, then half and half attack and defense. I'm going to use Crit blow too.
