Any idea why Gifs can be inserted sometimes but are turned into JPGs others?

Looks like it is a size matter. 800 KB is too much and it gets frozen into a JPG. Too bad, had some nice monster and other ghost type gifs from some old movies that would have been posted.

I'm not an expert on Gifs. I should have figured out how to make my own by now but lack of time/motivation has caused me not to bother.

Got a great gif of a boy turning into a vampire I was hoping to put up but it seems it is too large for here.

762 KB is around where it stays a Gif file instead of converting to a Jpg file.
