"Ha! You foolish metal man!" laughed the prisoner. "You think some mundane weapon can burst through MY force field? I harness the power of gravity itself, dolt! I, the GRAVITY LORD, will soon assume my rightful place as ruler of the Earth!"

What looked like a refugee from a movie about ancient Greece was laughing as he turned and directed what seemed to be a stream of prisoners to take cover. The fellow must have stood around eight feet tall at the shoulder, hugely muscled and with a large amount of body hair. His feet were cloven, he wore only a loin cloth and his head looked like a Bulls - in other words he resembled the Minotaur of ancient legend!

...

"The prison is situated in Wales. The isolated location is perfect for its high security status and there are no known breakouts previously to this situation. Prisoner details are classified, but the film footage showed a number of high profile criminals who are due for prosecution at an upcoming trial that may offer insights into the Usurpers organization. They are a criminal force with links and members spread throughout society high and low. They were the organization responsible for the kidnapping of the heroine formerly known as Cut-Lass' family. A most unfortunate outcome

Many are not metahuman, but 78 are categorized as being superhuman from Class one to Class 4, of which there are three prisoners. They are Dr Emmett Yarrid, otherwise known as Soulstealer, the individual known only as Cadaver and an unwholesome individual known as Professor Steven Playge, otherwise known as 'Black Playge'. Whilst trying to invent a cure for many of the worlds diseases he injected himself with a cocktail of drugs and chased it up by virtually ever killer disease known to man. His mere touch is deadly. Cadavar is essentially immortal, a being with superhuman strength and reflexes that heals almost instantly from any harm. Soulstealer is a psychic, able to inhabit anothers body and control it as his own.'

One of the prisoners has transformed into a huge (150' high!!!) blue, scale skinned giant! His head is monstrous (think creature from the black lagoon) and there are fins jutting from its back and arms, claws on its scaled hands, a tail, webbed hands and feet, even gills, on the transformed prisoner!

Centurion and Frostbite are minuscule compared to the giant villain, a monster that rivals Godzilla (OOC not that the 1940s heroes know who Godzilla is...) in size and stature! The prison guards open fire but their tracer bullets vanish into mounds of rubbery flesh and have less effect than light rain on the creature! It roars its rage to the heavens and looks about for the beings that have dared oppose...

LEVIATHAN!!!

Frostbite gathered his full fury and unleashed it into a single thin stream of mindbending cold!

The vacuum of space would be warmer!

The villain known as Napalm started to utter a few words. "What? Cold? Don't you know who I..."

The words died on his lips as his liquid flame form solidified, turning all too human and very very blue with cold! He was frozen like a statue

Inside a man with straggly white hair in prison overalls holds a skeleton by its throat.

The skeleton wears the uniform of a prison guard. Around the man are scattered bones of both inmates and other guards...

The fellow looks up, then around him. "What the &^*&$*(& *^&?" he splutters, in a north eastern (Geordie) accent.

With a quick glance it seems there at least a dozen or so bodies - or remains of bodies - scattered around this room, which had been one of several cafeterias...

Suddenly the man seems to change, eyes widening and turning blood red, fangs erupting from his gums, arms and chest swelling, and his mouth opens to snarl "No matter... I drained their life to give me strength... now the BLACK DEATH shall claim yours to feed me further!"

With supernatural speed he turns and leaps at the heroes!

"Howtheheckareyouabletomovesofastandwhoareyoupeopleanyway?WeexpectedtheUKChampionsandyoulotareatbestsecondraters..." he spluttered, glancing down at his hands. "Myhandscancutthroughanything!"

Maybe not.

Lionheart launched his mind blast/Lion apparition at his foe. Fast, physically, he may be, but how was he mentally?

OOC Mind blast against the Speedster (Jackhammer) You'll need a decent roll to take him out. 9+4 (13) Not bad. 4 damage. Jackhammer absorbs that by spending 4HP.

"Gahhh!Getoutofmyhead!" he cries and glares at Lionheart.

OOC Will just wait on the call for Lionhearts powers, then resolve the actions as follows:
Lionheart - superspeed or mental blast, attacking Jackhammer or Red Skin
Jackhammer - attacking Lionheart
Centurion - attacking Red Skin
Snakeman - attack Frostbite
Wolfman - attack Frostbite
Frostbite
Bombshell+any others in the dome around the reactor (including Red Skinned guy who is directing the bad guys like a conductor) act last as they are busy inside the dome - which is blacked out at the moment to prevent anyone looking in...

Gravity Lord is down

Not sure if Red Skin/Red Demon ever got a name or that was his name.  Same for wolfman and snakeman.

"You can't break through!" shouted a muffled voice from within. "All of your brutish force, all will come to naught!" squealed a hysterical mans voice. "I am BLACKBALL, and you? You're all dead!"

Frostbite looked up.

"BLACKBALL is a criminal with the power to generate intense force bubbles that are highly resistant to physical, mental and it is suggested, mystical force. An attack of sufficient power can overwhelm his defence, but it is also surmised that the villain can absorb kinetic and energy attacks.

Gunfire greeted the group as a running battle was taking place in a long corridor.

A group of army soldiers had been pinned down by what appeared to be a huge mass of spikes and spines. There was a vague manlike shape amidst the mess of foot long spines jutting from his form.

"Huh huh huh!" he bellowed. "You goons are in fer a surprise! They don't call me 'Spinal Tap' fer nuthin!"

The room was huge, carved from some forgotten underground cavern. Banks of servers and computers ran down one wall, whilst what looked to be a home made robot fabrication facility/production line ran down another wall! Huge ten foot screens - three of them - hung from the ceiling, and on a raised dais a man in a wheelchair studied the news reports on one screen whilst another was split into dozens of smaller screens.

The third screen flickered into life, and a woman appeared on it. She looked petrified, and glanced constantly to her left as sounds of explosions and a battle rang out from somewhere. "Dr Exitium! I need help! The facility... the superhumans..."

The 'doctor' in question, a bald man in a hover chair with pipes and wires from it into his head, faced the screen, his back to Haunt.

"Foolish woman! What have you done? You paid me to capture and deliver superhumans, and I have done! You wanted the machines to adapt their powers and channel them into a form of limitless bio-kinetic energy... and I did this! I, Exitium! No one else has the intellect, the pure processing power to..."

Villains Met over the Years Empty Re: Villains Met over the Years

There was something different about one at the back though. Dressed in the rags, mere remnants of what had been a suit, he practically filled the corridor and made the vein popping muscle heads around him seem like 90lb weaklings!

"I can see him!" he snarled. His eyes seemed to be glowing, and Haunt wondered... was this man able to see in the dark, or heat signatures at least? What else had been done to him?

The giant brushed the others aside as if they were wheat, ignoring their shouts, and crashed down the corridor, messing the plaster and walls wherever a hulking tree trunk of an arm brushed! As he got closer Haunt saw something definitely bestial about him - fangs had enlarged into tusks, eyes were slitted, like a cats, and his skin looked to be scaly, like a snake!

"We need to get out of here!" yelled the scientist! "Those meatheads they use as guards were only the tester! Phase two combined the traits of animals and greatly magnified the strength, endurance and agility of the recipient, as well as a lizards ability to recuperate! They are making an army of super villains, right here in London! The authorities won't know what hit them! They even plan to attack the UKChampions!"

The Scientist paused, breathless "Where did all this fog come from, and where is the way out?"

Haunt didn't mess about and unleashed his fear effect on his foes!

OOC This should be easy enough...

Roll(2d10)+0: 5,6,+0 Total:11 +Fear 9 (20) vs TN11 + Int 4 (15) +3 Effect. 12EV vs 7RV= 5 Raps
Against the big guy Fear attack 20 vs TN11 + Int 6 (17)= +2 Effect. 11EV vs RV17= 0 Raps

Haunt 'saw' the big 'man' stop for a moment, as if confused... What? Had his mind gone too far from human to be affected by Haunts Fear or did he simply need to 'try harder'? The others ran as quick as they could to flee the scene, and left the behemoth blocking the corridor! Moving surprisingly fast for his size, and restructuring the shape of the corridor, he seemed to run by alternating between feet and all fours! like a rhino, the oncoming behemoth intended to splatter Haunt!

OOC Unlikely! He may be quick but Haunt is agile, strong, tough, bendy, scary... Villains Met over the Years Icon_smile

"What?" muttered the hero as he blinked and looked up at the looming mass as it raised ham sized fists ready to strike.

Was that...

"RRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUSSSSSSHHHHH!!!!" it roared again!

No! It can't be!?!? Surely not!

Those fiends! They'd...

The Haunt took an involuntary step backwards as the slavering monstrosity that was part animal, part human, and HAD BEEN RUSH KINGs BEST FRIEND, DOCTOR PRAETORIUS, prepared to strike!

A pause. "I clobbered a guy a few years ago. He was a nasty piece o work. His power was weird... he can ... could... do weird stuff. Basically he could put his hand on something, then spew it out with the other. Solids? They would shoot out in a stream. Gas? Same. Liquids? Well this guy was trying to blackmail the city of Manchester after poisoning the water supply. Mr Changeover... no. Captain Swap? Hmmm... Catalyst! That's him! He's in the nick not far from here, the one with supers in it. Doing a loooooonnnnnggg time. You want lots of that black goop? That punk could do it."

Finally, the top of the elevator could be seen and it was a simple matter to open it and exit onto the corridor of the prison wing.

It was pandemonium

A 7' tall, grey skinned woman in tattered prison orange jumpsuit had pinned a guard against a wall, several feet off the floor. The guard was gasping for breath and the woman was laughing.

"Dammit." muttered Yeoman. "She-Rhino. Some of them obviously recover their powers a lot faster than the others."

As yet Haunt and Yeoman hadn't been seen. They looked through the gap in the elevator door and saw a blur skid to a halt beside the towering woman. Who was swelling in size, becoming thicker of limb, even greyer and her forehead was starting to 'grow' a horn.

The blur was a black man in prison orange. "Yo! Rhino gal! We're gettin' em all together in th' mess hall an decidin' what ta do next! Dr Devil says we need ta work together on this ta get out."

The woman squinted through rapidly changing eyes "Fleetfoot? Devil ain't my boss. Or yours. You give 'im an inch, he'll take a mile."

Haunt rolls up to the hairy rough looking fellow with the teeth and... are those claws? It suddenly occurs to him that this place, in the middle of London, is some sort of high security lock up for crazy psychopaths! In the middle of London!

In a way it made sense - here the response times of security services were way faster, the place was saturated with cctv and a number of superheroes, an army almost, called the Capital their home. in the countryside, it might take a while before anyone responded to an emergency and by the time they arrived, the villains would have absconded and left behind... well... that didn't bear thinking about.

With a huge springy boxing glove fist at the ready Haunt slowed then spun with his fist jutting out! The hairy guy didn't seem bothered. Indeed, he rushed in! What the...?

OOC Haunt Dex 9 plus Weapony Skill (lost of extra dice to roll, 5 in fact. This should be a cinch.) Roll(7d10)+0:
9,8,5,9,4,2,1,+0 Total:18, pretty good, DOUBLE, but no 10s? Anyway, the follow up... Roll(2d10)+0:
4,7,+0 Total:29 + 9 (38) vs TN11 + Dex 9 (20). +6 Effect Value.
14EV (Omni Arm) + 6 (20) vs 14RV= 6 Damage. HONEY BADGER ON 5/11 BODY. 50 HP remaining

....

OOC Honey Badger is out. He does have a low level of Mind over Matter but it (just) failed to get him back on his feet. The fly swat literally made the difference.

Just round the corner is a long corridor. Cell doors are open down the length of it and at the end, some 100 feet away, a gathering of people. Six were stood about and several stood out.

One had more of a shell than normal skin. An ugly thing, he was all claws, feelers and hard shell. A human Crayfish.

Another had what amounted to a square head. Headbanger.

A tall woman, covered in scales where her prison clothes didn't cover, looked like a human/snake Hybrid. Deathrattle.
